Hancock is self-appointed, but everyone accepts him as mayor. He runs the only town in the commonwealth accepting of people of any kind, be it folks running from the past or those who seek it. He wears clothes resembling someone of his name, despite that person several hundred years before his time. The way he's introduced is by killing someone because they were being a scumbag. He won't allow any of his people to get replaced by synths, but he is accepting of Nick, somebody who is clearly a synth. He's fine with people doing whatever, as long as it's not harming the good people in his town (ok with you killing people as long as you have probable cause). He's one of the only good leaders in the commonwealth. If you're friends with him he'll randomly give you chems.

A TEASER FOR Y'ALL:

The farmer looked at his watch. "Oh, shit, I've got to go. I'm sorry to cut this short, but it's been great." He tossed some money onto the counter and waved at Gus, the bartender, before exiting the saloon.

The newcomer, a comely businesswoman who had came to Stardew Valley to strike a deal with the local farmer to kickstart her bakery business, sat puzzled. She was in the middle of telling him how much she loved fresh strawberries and couldn't wait to taste his produce in the upcoming summer before he jumped up and left.

"He always acts like that this time of night," said a patron sitting at the bar. His disheveled hair and half-empty mug of beer indicated that he was no stranger to this place. "Don't know why he always rushes home like that, but he's pretty adamant about shutting those gates of his come sundown."

"Yeah," said a dark-haired young man in passing with a pallid complexion. One hand was tucked into his black leather pants pocket, and he wore a rather uninterested expression. He never stopped as he moseyed by. "Surprised he even had dinner with you in the first place since things didn't work out with his wife."

Not knowing why she was there, the locals probably assumed this was a date of some sort instead of a mere business meeting.

Letting her curiosity get the better of her, she sneaked up to the gates of the farm that night, hoping to spy the farmer's spring produce from afar. Hoping he wasn't some elicit pot dealer, she wanted to make sure doing business with this man wouldn't tarnish her reputation before it even got off the ground. She found that the only way inside was to go through a small garden gate in the back yard. She sneaked around the back woods as quietly as she could while avoiding stepping on the dried leaves and broken branches leading to the farmer's back gate.

A blood curdling scream soon escaped her lips as she came upon a wilderness golem dragging its large feet through the dirt just outside the nearby greenhouse. Before she could turn and run, a pickaxe dug its way deep into the neck of the monster, causing it to moan in pain before collapsing into a heap of rocks.

The farmer yanked the pickaxe from the stone and turned to the frightened woman. His sleeves were rolled up over scarred biceps, and he was already covered in sweat and blood...

"I told you all not to come here at night. This land is cursed."
