"Aqua has an Oedipus complex-" first of all beyond the fact the only way you could possibly think this is you never read or watched OnK at all and just read a synopsis and didn't bother to verify if it was accurate or not- this is actually the weakest way you could possibly interpret the nature of the feelings Goro/Aqua had regarding Ai. like, even ignoring the fact that Aqua has such an extreme lack of an Oedipus complex to the point he actively refused to breastfeed from Ai because it would have been creepy and inappropriate to him, everything about Aqua's feelings regarding Ai if anything read as parental quite frankly

Gorou Amamiya became Ai's fan because of Sarina. Because Sarina was somebody important to Gorou that he comforted in her last days, he became a huge fan of Ai in order to carry on Sarina's wishes and to keep supporting her and became a genuine diehard idol fan in the process. Then, he met Ai while pregnant: and had a heart-to-heart conversation with her. And came to the conclusion that Ai was somebody he wanted to support in any capacity. He could have been like Ryousuke and actually become possessive of her and feel like she betrayed him: he did not. He was a medical professional that put aside his own feelings as "a fan" to support her both as a doctor and as a fan in his own way by wishing for her sincere happiness as opposed to an image sold to fans.

He wanted to see her grow up happy and healthy. If Ryousuke had not killed him and there was no murder plot at all? The plot of this story probably would have been about him moving to Tokyo after talking to Ai's manager saying that someone needs to be their family doctor while keeping their secret and him taking the roll. The series would have been about Gorou as the Hoshino family doctor and how he supports them as a member of the sidelines who gives support in his own way.

Aqua never really refers to Ai as his mother much outside of situations when it'd be weirder if he didn't. It's very explicit he does not have a romantic or sexual attraction to Ai in this new life: he already didn't, but now it's like, Negatively So Actually. No longer able to support her as a doctor he even took an acting gig JUST to help further and bolster Ai's career. It's beaten into your face with the subtlety of a dozen hammers to your face his only desire is to watch Ai grow up safe and happily and succesful.

Aqua's/Gorou's relationship with Ai was someone who wanted to see her grow up to be happy. And after some waste of life incel murdered her? To want to make sure that was avenged. Because he was someone older than Ai who valued her and wanted her happiness above everything else in the world, and views the person who is responsible for that as someone who's life is forfeit. Because Ai was a good person who didn't deserve her fate and as someone who only ever wanted to support her, wants to make sure that her memory can rest in peace completely.

If anything, the feelings Aqua/Gorou had towards Ai are parental in nature. So much about his motivations read like a father who wants to avenge his daughter's murder, to kill the man that denied her the happiness the child deserved.

"OnK is soooooooo gross the mc has an Oedipus complex and is a p*do-" not only is this a reading you can only get from a five second sypnosis read and being determined to hate OnK for brownie points, it's not even the right fucked up dead dove way that you could describe their relationship.

Tides // Kurapika Kurta x F!Reader

Going on a walk with your best friend Kurapika sounds like fun!!

Warnings: Big fluff ! None , really lol . Maybe some slight suggestive at the end ?

A knock at Y/n's door signified a visitor. She blinked her pretty e/c eyes closed for a mere second, pondering on who it could be. Late-night visits were uncommon for her, unless it happened to be an emergency.

Oh, she prayed it wasn't an emergency at her door at around 10pm. She was dressed in f/c pajamas and her hair was a mess. She was almost ready to go to bed, but here was that simple knock that came more frantically as she pondered on her own. Y/n sighed, getting up and saying , "I'm coming!"

The door opened, and a pretty sight enveloped her eyes. It was Kurapika, her dearest friend. His eyes were the normal obsidian gray with his contacts in, most likely to hide any kind of excitement he might show to anyone in the town.

"Hey, Y/n. Sorry for bothering you so late..."

"No - - I don't mind! Are you okay?"

He chuckled. She always had a way of worrying about him. And stirring his heart up.

"I'm fine...just really wanted to see if you'd be alright with going for a walk with me? I have somewhere special I wanna take you."

Her eyes lit up, and she gave a cat-like grin. "Ah . . . lemme go change outta these PJ's and do my hai-"

He put a finger to her lips softly. "You don't have to do all that, Y/n. I promise, we won't be out for too long." The finger that was put to her lips made her blush tenfold.

"Ah........okay-"

The Kurta boy grasped her hand, taking it in his own as she stepped out with him and followed behind slowly.

"So...where exactly is this place?"

A moment of silence before his answer comes, soft and gentle. "You'll see."

The rest of the walk, hand in hand, was quiet, with the exception of people talking as they walked past them. Y/n's heartbeat raced a bit, as he had never given any suggestion of letting go of his hand.

After a bit more walking, the two had made it to this destination. Kurapika let go of her hand momentarily, pointing out at the waters around the beach's sand.

The moon was shining down on the water, and not too many people were at the beach location at this hour.

"...Wow...it's so pretty!"

Kurapika gave a gentle smile, closing his eyes for a moment before flipping around and grabbing Y/n's waist softly. Shock filled her shining e/c eyes, but she went along with it as he hugged her close. The breeze blew his hair out of his face softly and slowly.

"Yeah. It's gorgeous, actually. Just like you."

That comment made her face look as if she were a tomato.

"Kura...pika..-"

"Y/n...I wanted to take you out here because I felt it would be the best place to tell you that I'm in love with you. I know it's all so soon and all that, but I can't harbor my feelings in my heart alone anymore."

Y/n's heartbeat was erratic, and her eyes gazed into his own. She held him close as well, moving in to kiss his soft lips. When their lips connected, both's eyes closed, and they savored the taste of the other's lips.

Y/n , deciding to be sneaky, poked his mouth with her tongue, and his face exploded in redness. Her tongue slid into his mouth, and they momentarily fought for dominance.

When they released, a string of saliva connected the two. Both were red in the face, and as if a call, he patted her head softly.

"I love you...Kura."

"I love you too...just as the tides love the sand."

You meet him before the sunrise countdown or any of that begins .

He gets this stirring feeling for you. . . at first , he takes it in a completely separate direction than love . Like , seeing you as a possible rival ?

Love isn't too big and great in this man's vocabulary .

Takes him a while before he finally comes to the conclusion that he's fallen head over heels for you.

His insecurities about the way he looks tend to get to him now , when he's around you.

He doesn't want to scare you or hurt you . He's waiting for the right time to ask you to become a demon with him .

Even though he's in love with you, he can't see himself disobeying Muzan and allowing you to live without turning you into a demon as well.

If you do say yes, you'll be fighting at his side always .

Douma's a cult leader . High chance that you're a part of his cult , and he doesn't let anyone who follows him know he eats humans .

You get close to him through chatter when you see him around.

You're like his loyal assistant , in a sense , after a while .

When people visit him for assistance and worship purposes , he has you in the room as well, sitting right next to him.

Then, when you make a small comment about wanting a lover, this man realized something.

He fell for you .

He'll invite you to go somewhere with him, maybe to look at the stars at night.

He'll then tell you everything. He doesn't seem like the kind to keep it a secret.

It was hard for him to believe his own feelings.

Since Koyuki's passing, he didn't think he could love another.

He admires you from afar for a bit before wanting to go on missions with you and hang out.

He'll go to his wives for help, and when he says you could possibly become love interest number four, instead of being jealous, they're ecstatic because they like you too.

So they scheme up a plan .

While you're out on a mission, Hinatsuru takes a...rather large rock, shoving it out in front of you while you were chatting with Tengen.

Ninja man catches you HAHA! He thinks he's so flashy and brags about it after that. He confessed to you while holding you.

Giyu is stoic, quiet around the other pillars.

This doesn't change when you enter the scene...as his tsuguko. You're not much younger than him, maybe a year, tops.

While he does help you train, he keeps that same demeanor at the beginning of your mentorship.

He even has to get close to you to help you swing your sword at times, which for some damn reason...

After a few months or so of training with Tomioka, he seems to lighten up with you. He'll talk more frequently, asking you how your day was and what you were up to.

You'll definitely notice that he's warmer. But when out with the other hashira, his demeanor goes back to silence and staring.

You get curious, so you set him down and ask about it.

"Tomioka, what's been up with you? I mean, the changes aren't bad, but I wanna know why you've been acting so...social? Lately?"

He's blankly staring at you, looking at the floor, his haori, and then back at you.

"I thought you'd like it...if I talked more...because...I like you, I guess."

Hah. Awkward boi let's be honest.

You're another hashira in this hc.

You're very bubbly and talkative, kind of like Mitsuri. Of course, in the beginning, Shinazugawa Sanemi finds this annoying.

He'll shoo you away with every chance he gets.

It's only when you stop by his estate with a plate of ohagi for his birthday that his opinion of you slowly begins to shift.

You're still annoying as fuck in his eyes...but maybe you were tolerable?

It would take a few days of him ignoring you for you to storm into his estate, grab him by the collar, and scream at him.

Jk jk he'd fucking kill you

You'd actually walk into his estate and demand to hear what's up with him.

He'd attempt shooing you of course, but you're not gonna take no for an answer, are ya?

Didn't think so.

That's when HE grabs YOU by the collar, shoves you against the wall, and tenderly presses a kiss to your lips. He couldn't find the words to confess to you, so he used his actions. And they worked, becaue you kissed back, caressing his white, fluffy hair softly.

Rengoku would be straightforward with his feelings. He won't push you away, or ignore you, to figure out his heart because he's so in sync with his feelings that he doesn't need a second opinion or thought.

You'd be just another slayer, part of the kamaboko squad with Tanjiro and his pals, but you're the eldest, being around 19.

He'd invite you to have a picnic with him, classic, right?

You'd obviously be honored...I mean, a hashira invited you to eat with him!! What an honor!!

Poisoned {S. Kocho x F!reader}

Had fun writing this one . This one's for my dear gays <3 Warnings: None, just some more fluff ! No angst this time !

Sunlight trickled in through the glass panes of windows in the butterfly estate. Y/n was currently lying in one of the patient beds adjacent to the tiled walls. As a demon slayer, her job was to protect civilians and other slayers in the area from demons. Her other job, however, was to slice the nape of these demons and chop their heads off completely.

Throughout the woman's mission, several different spider demons had drawn near, each attempting their own attacks against Y/n. Her eyes were sharp...but not quite sharp enough to catch the endless pit of miniature spiders with human heads crawling up her body and biting her with any skin she had been showing. Even after all the poison had begun taking effect, Y/n still fought until Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho, two of the most skilled swordsmen (and woman) known as hashira, had shown up and practically kicked ass.

Y/n was on the verge of being turned into one of the vermin, as was one of her comrades, Zenitsu. Lucky for both of them, Kocho had the antidote handy with her, and had saved both Y/n and Zenitsu from "inevitable" fate. God, Y/n felt so in debted to this woman for saving her. The thought of turning into a spider made her skin crawl with unease. She hated spiders, anyway.

But oh lord...Shinobu was drop-dead gorgeous. When the insect hashira had descended onto the building at which they both lay, Y/n thought she was dead, and that Kocho was an angel coming to lead her to heaven. Her haori had spread like a butterfly's elegant wings, and her voice, though muffled by the poison, Y/n thought it sounded so velvety...like a vixen, but much sweeter...

Y/n sat up, scratching the back of her head softly. Her limbs were still a bit short, but she could hear much better, and her sight wasn't blurred anymore. A door opened, and her e/c eyes shot towards the creaking sound. Her heartbeat became a beat quicker when she spotted the insect hashira...no...her SAVIOR...walk through the door, closing it softly behind her.

The hashira wore a smile on her gorgeous face, her butterfly hair pin peaking out from behind her head. She had a cup in her hand, and even from the distance between them, Y/n knew it was the smell of that wretched medicine she had to take. She tried not to sulk, though. This was her first time seeing Kocho instead of Aoi or the three little caterpillars giving her her medications in a cup.

"Here," Murmured the pillar, handing Y/n the cup gingerly. "Drink it while it's warm. It will make the symptoms less unbearable if you do."

Y/n grabbed the cup, giving it a wild sniff. Oh yes, this was definitely the disgusting mixture. Even though it saved her, Y/n still found it distasteful.

"Oh...thank you..Kocho..but..-"

" No need to thank me, my dear. It is my job, after all."

Y/n's heartbeat became erratic. Her voice was so pretty...it matched her face to a T. She knew Kocho didn't even NEED this as a job; her looks could get her by without any issues. The fact she was good with pharmaceuticals too was something to be looked at. She could feel her face reddening as the hashira stepped closer.

"I really need to tell you something, miss Kocho..." She closed her eyes, looking down at the blanket she was underneath. The hashira tilted her head, curiosity taking a hold of her usually smile-tight expression.

"I really do want to thank you for saving me and...that yellow-haired boy." Y/n pointed her finger to the sleeping form of Zenitsu in the bed across from herself. "You're also........" She stopped. What was she thinking?! She couldn't possibly tell Kocho that!

"Like I said, Y/n...it's my job, please don't worry yourself with thanking me. I do this to see slayers to their recoveries so they may continue to hunt demons at full health and not kill themselves."

Y/n nodded at this, blushing but looking away lightly. "Yeah...yeah, that makes sense. I'm gonna drink the meds now.."

She took the cup, putting it to her rosy lips and taking gulp after gulp of the disgusting liquid. She hated the taste, but the sweet scent Shinobu gave off made the taste not so bad for Y/n. Someone who smelled, acted, and looked sweet? Kocho was definitely Y/n's type, no doubt.

With a nod, Kocho made her way back to the door, settling Zenitsu's medicine cup on the table next to his bed as he snored away before she exited and closed the door softly. Y/n had literal butterflies in her stomach, and she gripped her own wrist. Goodness, what were these feelings? Just because the woman was gorgeous...and smelled gorgeous...and her lips probably ta-

No! Y/n, stop! Don't disrespect her like that! She's a hashira, damn it.

Allowing her thoughts to win, she settled back into bed, waiting to go back to sleep and enjoy her rest while she still could.

Shinobu regularly visited Y/n during her rest, sitting and talking with her at times.

"Are you sure you're ready, miss Y/n?"

"Of course! I have rested, so my body's back to normal!"

Y/n chirped happily to the little caterpillars, giving each of them a light pat on the head. To her surprise, Aoi, Kanao, and a certain insect hashira joined the three little girls outside.

"Ah, Y/n..you're feeling much better now?" Asked the stern, blue butterfly nurse, placing a sassy hand on her hip. Kanao flipped her coin, watching it land on her wrist, and looking at it. With a smile, she looked at Y/n. "I'm glad you are. Please be well on your journey."

Shinobu gave a soft smile...one that seemed more genuine than her usual one, poised with hidden venom. Her talk with Tanjiro the night before made her realize how...foolish, she was to not be herself and have a genuine smile. Of course, she was still going for her goal...but why not let something slip by?

"Y/n...may I talk to you? It's a bit important to talk about in the open. Come with me." The hashira took Y/n's hand, leading her away to behind the estate's grounds. Y/n tilted her head like a confused chihuahua, eyes bright with anticipation. What could the hashira want with her? A simple 'good luck' could've sufficed in front of the girls...but maybe she was shy about it?

"So...Miss Kocho, what's u-"

Before Y/n could finish, her lips were entangled with Kocho's. Her eyes widened, heartbeat becoming impossibly quick again. Her face began to heat a bit, pink dusting along her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Kocho released the kiss, poking Y/n's nose softly.

"Good luck, my dear~"
