I believe Jinx's braids was some sort of connection to Powder. Through so much years she didn't cut her hair, because she didn't let her inner Powder go.

After Silco's death she probably became Jinx completely (the chair moment!!). That's why I headcanon that she cutted her hair after first arcane season.
