The Wind
The wind battered against the house my nervousness creating a draft as my body cooled itself causing the air to move quickly. That is what caused the storm outside, many younglings created storms when they got too emotional. You never understand the problem with creating an updraft until the winds catch up with you it is a terrifying experience which is why often the first one is the worst as the panic fuels the winds further. When I had my first experience I was able to ride the air as it rose around me. Shortly after I started to enjoy it the winds died down my energy calmed. So much of it was driven by instinct that it was hard to control until you fully grasped it. When you fully grasped it, that was when you could become one with the air. With precise control sectioning parts of the bubble to push the wind around you. The trick was to get enough air around you to lift you. Normally you could run to do it but most preferred to continue the tradition. The canyons were so deep that you could fall for thirty minutes and still not hit the ground for another twenty. So when you were sure you were ready to be one with the wind you jumped. I still was learning and the thought of jumping was terrifying, so I had training with my jumping but I couldn't quite run fast enough to get my feet off the ground. I could barely extend my jump something many children half my age could do. I also only ever stormed out once while most stormed at least twice by my age. I have found that not having control over things was a fear that surpassed reason. Losing control again was out of the question I would learn control and be able to use it without destroying another house. The air calmed and I stepped out. I focused and felt the air grow cold as the air rushed around me. I sprinted forward and focused, i mentally angled the magic and kept pushing the wind keeping me from hitting my face as I got closer to the ground. I ran up a small krag and as I reached the tip I swung my arms and launched into the air. I floated there in the air the wind rushing around me. I slowly fell back to the ground the thrill of the jump still filling me. I landed took a breath and felt the air around me stop swirling. You got used to the way the wind pulled towards and away from you so when you were able to focus and let the winds move by themselves it felt unnatural.

Water
I was thrown to the floor from my cot and was instantly covered in water. A good inch covered the floor of the ship. The rest of the sleeping crew were rousing from the rock. Shouts echoed from above.
“Men Overboard!”
I ran up to the deck. The deck was calmer during boarding. I watched as a crew of five men launched and anchor over the side. Another two threw a coil of rope. In the haze, I swear I saw men jumping overboard but no calls rang out. I ran to the center mass crossing through the foot traffic of lamps and water. I stood at the main mast as the crowds ran around me. As I looked over the port side horror struck. I could see the water bulging as it moved towards us sending the ship up. So I began shouting over the crowd and people turned back to battening things down as the rest of the crew attempted to fish the men out. I ran to the port side and saw that at the end of ropes taught were about twelve total men around six each. Some were not in their deckhands outfit. So I was not seeing things. I felt the boat shift, and I called out to the group.
“Hold steady men!” They all clamped together as the ship listed in the wave. The captain shouted over the mayhem.
“Men, we have reached it. The center of the endless storm. We are just one who wishes to lay claim to these waters.” As if the statement was a prophecy a tentacle reached over the edge of the ship. “Ha ha! We’ve been tracking the mother of the sea for quite some time.”
The sky cleared and the ship started falling. We fell for far too long and we landed in a crash on land. The captain cried out. “What in the Gods names?”

stop saying "kill yourself" to people, guys.
start saying "I hope we both die with our hands around each other's throats and god I hope it's pure agony, good god let me be the last thing you see and let you be the last thing I see before it all fades to stardust."
that'll teach them.

"Don't lie to me. I know what has to be done. The next time i see you will be in the afterlife. If it even exists. "
"Don't say that, believe for once in yourself. "
There was pity in their eyes "I knew from the start that this would cost my life."
Their eyes glistened, and their voice caught, "Please, go. let me believe you survived. Without that hope, I have nothing left."
I put on a fake smile. "I'd let the world die before I let you lose hope. I'll see you again. " they looked up to me, teary-eyed. "I'll see you again"
I walked away towards the volcano where my final battle was said to happen. My final plan was in place, the hero was to never make it to the top. The prophecy said otherwise, the hero was to fell me. I had just one hope left.
I lounged on my chair. Pondering the prophecies when the door swung open, revealing the hero clad in full armor covered in blood and dents.
"You're late"
The hero glared at me through their helm. "What sort of trick are you pulling Thantor."
"I have no tricks left it seems you killed any I had."
"Just like I am here to kill you."
"Be careful, I wouldn't let evil cloud your thoughts or you may be the one with a prophesied demise"
"I'm not evil."
"Yet you kill so indiscriminately. "
"They choose to work for you."
"People are not evil for attempting to stay alive, in a twisted way YOUR working for me."
This caused the hero to lower their sword. Hope bloomed in my chest.
"What do you mean."
"You killed those people because of me, therefore. You killed those people for me. "
"You're sick in the head"
The hero rushed forward, sword raised.
"Killing me will not lessen the hate you hold for yourself, for this fate."
The hero swung the blade, and I let it sink into my flesh. "If I deserve to die so do you."
I saw their eyes they were determined but I could see the tears streaming from them.
"I forgive you."
In that moment, I felt a weight lift. The blade of the hero struck true once more. The prophecy had come true. However, the prophecies ended after our fight. The world faded, and I saw it through fresh eyes through the slits of a helmet. -edited for spelling mistakes
#191
"This is the last time we ever see each other again."
"Yeah, right. Don't worry, though, I'll be here when you come back."

Just want to say I am still tracking my word count for the day but posting each day here felt spammy so I am going to do an end-of-month post probably. I will say that 1000 was far too lofty of a goal and 500 is more my target but with working on boardgames and code getting even to that is not always easy. Anyway, the whole point was to write some every day on something so I don't mind :)
