After nearly a 10-year gap, I rediscovered Yokohamabashi shopping street, or 横浜橋商店街 (Yokohamabashi Shotengai), nestled just a 4-minute stroll from Bandobashi Station on the Yokohama Municipal Blue Line subway. Like decades ago, the shopping street feels like stepping into a living legacy that has withstood the test of time since the conclusion of World War II.

In this video, I aimed to capture the essence of this shotengai through my camera lens, focusing on shots taken after sunset to leverage the vibrant colors inherent in nocturnal street photography. I also utilized a 5% diffusion filter on my lens to enhance the blooming effect.

鳥山先生のことが頭から離れずにお参りした日に引いたおみくじ 突然こんな日がくるなんて、 こんなにでっかく空いた胸の穴を実感するなんてと、 よろよろ歩きながら、ひいた。 半吉とあるが励ましてくれるような良い（優しい）内容だなと感謝しながら結ぼうとしたときに、挿絵におどろいた こんなことってあるのけ・・・？ まさかの鳥と、山の絵、 よく読むと文章に”明”の文字🐦⛰️ 神さまが慰めてくれたとしか思えない 神の愛を、めちゃくちゃ感じたし やっぱり鳥山明は神様なんだとおもった。🐦😇ﾉ"(っ <。)  思えば８８番という数字も、 縁起が良いし無限と∞がふたつある。 鳥山明が永遠に続く気がした　∞∞

鳥山先生、 残りの人生 心臓はとっくに捧げてますが 最大の愛と尊敬と感謝をささげ続けます 最初から最後まで鳥山明だったそういう人生にします 本当に長い間、お疲れさまでした 有難うございまし��！

私ごとですが、久々の歯科治療が今日から始まりました。 なかなかの工事を午前中にしたので、ちょうど開店時間頃に麻酔が切れる…とドキドキしていたのですが、もらった痛み止めを飲む事もなく、現在に至ります。 先生の腕が良いのだなぁ…と感謝。 暑くて歯が痛いなんて、ちょっとグレちゃうよね、良かった。

今日もたくさん本が届いたので黙々と棚し出ししました。 今日もストーリーズでなく、こちらに投稿します。 届くのを今か今かと待っていた高研さんの『隙間』完結4巻が届き、喉から手が出て、読了。 しばし放心。 何度も何度も読むだろう漫画作品です。 私の初めての投票は、緊張こそはしたけれど、こんなに切実ではなかった記憶。胸に迫る… 映画になったらいいなぁ…動いているヤンちゃん（主人公）に会いたい。 そしてきっと、音楽も素敵なものになるだろうと想像します。

Capturing the Essence of Yokohamabashi Shotengai: A Nighttime Journey Through Tradition and Color in Japan

Discovering the Yokohamabashi shopping street, or 横浜橋商店街 (Yokohamabashi Shotengai), nestled a mere 4-minute stroll from Bandobashi Station on the Yokohama Municipal Blue Line subway, feels like stepping into a living legacy that has withstood the test of time since the conclusion of World War II.

In this shot, I set my sights on encapsulating the essence of this shotengai signboard through the lens of my camera. The focal point? The glowing [よこはまばし] streetlight that proudly heralds the entrance to the shopping street.

Nightscapes are enchanting, and my admiration for the vibrant colors inherent in nocturnal street photography led me to experiment with a 5% diffusion filter on my lens. The result was a delicate halo cast around the brilliantly illuminated signboards, adding a touch of ethereal allure to the scene.

As I framed the shot, a family of foreigners strolled ahead of me. Intrigued, I couldn't help but wonder if they were on a quest for affordable holiday delights to adorn their Christmas tree. The shotengai, with its array of shops and festive ambiance, seemed like the perfect destination for such a quest.

For those interested in experiencing the charm of Yokohamabashi Shotengai firsthand, it's conveniently accessible with just a 4-minute walk from Exit 1A of Bandobashi Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line.

I worry whether or not this shotengai can survive into the future as a surprisingly high number of shops have closed their doors due to lack of an heir to take over and run the shop, which have been doing well being run by the same family over multiple generations right after the war.
