They have been an educator on transneutral nonbinary identity, non-binary transition, the anti binarist position and intersex issues for decades. This is an interview with them from the 1980s, talking about their experience as a non-binary/genderqueer person at a time where the community was just coming together.

My name is Nexys, and I am queer and disabled. For years I have been striving to create the most tight-knit safe space (that's ACTUALLY safe) on the internet, using content creation as common ground. And we're really starting to take off!

Oh my fucking god. I love my living space but sometimes my partners/other housemates are so infuriating. This quarter i am in the red room and my partners are J (they/them), H (he/they), and A (they/she). For reference, as I understand this is not an average living setup, there is 15-18 people usually in the home and there is 6 bedrooms. Red room, Green room, Blue room, Purple room, Guest room, and the Cat room. Each room (excluding the cat room) has 2 bunkbeds. We rotate rooms every quarter, I have been in the space for 3 rotations. Okay- now back to what I was saying. This is J's first rotation and they seem to fully just not understand how this works. They absolutely refuse to play their part in keeping the space clean and are being all lovey with T (it/its), from their last room. T is NOT reciprocating because it understands how this works!! In addition to everything with T, The Founder is trying to get this cisgender "person" to join. Which is so fucking bullshit. I entered this space in the first place because it was a trans-exclusive household. I don't interact with cic people unless absolutely nessisary, and if that THING entered the space I would be forced to have her as a partner. I am simply not willing to do such a thing. Many other individuals in the home have the same outlook so hopefully we will be able to stop it. That is all the 'drama' I have for now!! ttyl^^
