This is a bit of a late post but here goes: So much of life is about honour. Honouring your God, honouring yourself, and honouring your struggle. And perhaps most importantly, honouring the people who make up the the texture and nuance of your life. Honouring the people that you love, and honouring the people that love you. I want to give a big shout out to the people in these photos, from a small gathering we had at our home at the end of December. These are just some of the friends and partners who I am privileged to share this journey of life with, and I am so deeply grateful for each and every one. A huge lesson for me in 2018, and one I am carrying forward into 2019 is honour. My Starbucks... Venti Iced Water Water with lemon. All day every day. Water is the most critical building block of life and vitality. Sounds basic, but what do you have without clean water? We are so fortunate in places like #Canada to (mostly) have clean drinking water, and we all need to do our part to help others who don’t to get it... On another note, metaphorically, water teaches us that we need to continually replenish and detox our souls. We love and appreciate the friendship and support of so many of you, and 2019 will be AMAZING. 2018 had its share of ups and downs, wins and losses… But in the end, it’s not where we have been, but where we are going that counts. My personal focus for 2019? 1 - Be Balanced – Engage – For me, this is about fully engaging in all the areas of my life and not getting off-track or out of balance. 2 - Be Brave – Empowerment – For me, this is all about getting rid of the fear-based mindsets that have disempowered me and held me back at times, shedding the striving of the ego and the false self, and stepping into true bravery, resilience and courage. 3 - Be Better – Excellence – For me, that means constant growth, change and progress so that I can evolve into my best self. 4 - Be Bigger – Execution – For me, this means executing at a higher level and with higher level people than ever before. 5 - Be Blessed – Earning – For me, this means leaning into my strengths, and earning like never before. Christmas! All about our faith, our family, our food, and fun!! Merry Christmas everyone! In a lot of ways, 2018 was amazing for me. In others, not so much. Each day and each year I treat as a “segment of evaluation”... looking at how is grew and how I regressed, what I learned and what is still lacking, and what I gained and lost. I don’t. Best myself up but look at things in a realistic and healthy way, in order to be my best and maximize my capacity to serve others. I don’t compare myself to others but really ask if I did my best and where I can be better... And I surround myself with people who love me, who support me, and who challenge me to be my best. These aren’t people who pop in and out of my life, but people who stand over years and years, people for whom I am so grateful... A few clips from Jasmine and her first Christmas concert (on stage)... she looked like she was having lots of fun, and yet took it pretty serious. I threw in a snap of Jasmine at the end. All 3 of my children @joshbrown777 and @juliebrown8 and Jasmine (no IG account yet lol) are amazing in their own ways. Given that there is a big age spread with them (from 4-19), it forces me to adapt in large ways to each one depending on the moment. I value each one.
