Rewatching Game Of Thrones for the first time since discovering Bridgerton. If I had a nickel for every time I watched a show with two sisters in a large family, where the elder was a redhead with conventional dreams who nearly married a blonde prince; and the younger was an unconventional brunette who wanted more out of life than marrying a wealthy man and having his kids, and ended up falling for a lower class boy, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

SOTR Movie Prediction

Idr who said it, but I remember someone pointing out that the dynamic between Haymitch and Maysilee in Sunrise On The Reaping seems to have been designed specifically so that the movie would really have to reach to make Haymitch/ Lenore Dove/ Maysilee the new Hunger Games love triangle. In fact, SOTR seems to set it up so that none of the other female characters Haymitch meets are potential third parties in a love triangle, they're all either too young, too old or they're Maysilee, in which case he goes out of his way to define their relationship in an unambiguously non-romantic way.

But the more I think about it, the more I wonder if the movie will still find a way to make a love triangle happen. Because the original movies already made Haymitch/ Effie a thing, and Effie is a fairly relevant character in SOTR. So my current prediction is that there will still be a love triangle in the SOTR movie, it'll just be with Effie as the third party, instead of Maysilee.
