With a gentle swipe, Ghost wiped away the tears that streamed down Soap’s face. The eye shadow streaking from the moisture and pressure of Ghost’s hand, adding to the look of panic and betrayal the sergeant portrayed.

"He sacrificed you for the greater good, Johnny." Ghost muttered, voice low. "But I'd sacrifice the entire world just for you. I’ll make sure everyone burns and suffers before they could even think about laying a single hand on you.”

“Don’t worry love, I’ll make sure to bring him back to you so he can see that by choosing to sacrificing you, he chose to sacrifice the entire world to me.”

/Soap reached a new personal record of outrunning Ghost for 8 minutes straight - swearing he could have gone longer if it wasn’t for the untimely luck or curse of Gaz stepping out of Price’s office. Causing the door to open right into Soap’s face and sending the Scotsman spiraling back into Ghost’s waiting arms. /

A sharp tug to his throat mic and deft fingers curling around the hair on his nape was all it took for Soap to go limp in his Lieutenant’s hold.

“When I ask a question sergeant… I expect an answer.”

Soap felt a sudden chill crawl down his spine. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, and an unshakable intuition seized him, warning of an unseen presence lurking just inches away. Despite the absence of any audible cues, an undeniable instinct told him that someone, loomed large behind him. With a quick, cautious glance over his shoulder, Soap confirmed his suspicion - a certain Ghost had finally hunted the Scotsmen down. Right then, Soap knew a recruit would spend the rest of their career in the SAS in regret - if he outlived his Lieutenant.

“Johnny…” Ghost stated harshly. In a clipped tone that the Lieutenant tend to reserve for scolding recruits in training.

Soap sucked in some air sharply, muttering a very silent ‘Oh shite’ under his breath before turning his head to Simon. “Si! What are you doin’ over here?” All attempts to keep the nerves out of his voice failed the moment Soap noticed Ghost’s eyebrows pulling together in a scowl.

“Tell me.. What did the Scotsman say when chased by a Ghost?”

Not taking a second to process the words uttered aloud, the Scotsman in question - ran.

“Ack, listen to ye’. I made a harmless bet with Gaz ta see if I could steal one of Ghost’s shirts and see how long it takes him ta notice. I’m going on 6 hours now so don’t ye’ go gabbing and gettin’ me caught!”

“Though ta be honest this is the comfiest thing I’ve worn in a while - don’t think I’ll be givin’ it back anytime soon.”

Howdy ya'll! Here is the first update for my writing The Florist and The Racer on A03. Don't worry chapter 1 will contain 4 total parts but I wanted to provide part 1 as a sample/teaser for what's to come. I don't really have the time to be a beta reader but I do have a little advice if you want it!

You seem to use a lot of flowery and fancy language and, despite the story being good, it kind of detracts from it.

That may be because I'm a bit stupid and have to pause and think over the word but it breaks up the flow and loosing yourself you get in writing if that makes sense?

Sorry if this is a bit mean I really don't mean it like that.

Howdy Anon! I don’t mind some advice and you seem pretty kind ✌🏻.

I will admit I’m not very good at writing at all so I do use other resources to help me explain scenes and other items which probably does use a lot of big words (and NO I don’t use AI as a resource for anyone who asks - I work in IT I get grumpy about that easily)

This is the first run through of me re-writing the story and trying to make it longer with detail. I’ll definitely go back through and see if I can change up some items and get rid of some of the language.

Also once I find a beta reader that will help a ton too! But if you’d ever like to see updates or re-works just shot me an ask. Keep me in check if I use to many fancy words 🤠

(Also you’re not stupid 💚 no one is ever stupid when it comes to reading. It’s hard to read and write - I’m mainly used to reading 0’s and 1’s from certain machines.)
