I call it Everwind
Men and royalty have a piss poor history with this family. It started with Ella and Aurora. Ella was pregnant with a little girl when she found and ran away with Sleeping Beauty, and in a little book store they called home, Belle was born.
She grew up clever and adventurous, always exploring a little farther than her mothers' peace of mind would enjoy, but it was all she knew. Beauty was almost a curse. People flocked to her, asking her hand and making passes. So to the woods she'd venture. Until she one day went so far, she ended up in a part of the woods she didn't recognize.
Belle kept wandering until summer turned to snow in a few steps. There, she found a castle, and a Beast. He kept her safe, she let her guard down. She loved him, cursed or not. And he betrayed her.
He, ahem... transfered his curse to her, and fled in his cowardice. She ran into the woods again, searching for him. Her mothers had found her some time ago, and were still in their bookstore. She looked for ages, wandering, but this time it was not for release, or simply for wanderings sake. It was to find who she thought loved her. The father of her child.
All she found was a quiet cottage with an intimidating woodswoman who had been raised by mining dwarves. They called her Snow, but it never quite fit. She was not gentle like a snowflake, but strong and built for work. Her gentleness came slowly, and she thawed for Belle, and helped her raise the wild, angry little girl she brought with her.
Merida was stubborn, she griped, she fought with her mothers, and just felt the Teen Angst. Snow had seen what men did to her wife, her mother in law, and let it slip how much trouble men always caused. Merida was low key a good person for standing up and saying Not All Men, because we know it's true. And almost because she wanted to prove them wrong, she fell in with the Dairy Boy from town.
At least in her every endeavor, there was someone who could calm Merida's rages, and that was her friend Pocahontas... And a witch that was meant to counsel her, but after listening to Merida complain about her mother (who would turn into a beast when the moon was waxing) blatantly unaware of the struggles the woman went through. The witch did a spell to transfer the curse from Belle to Merida, turning her into a monster full time.
It lasted for a few months. Pocahontas remained faithfully by her side until they fully broke the curse, and Merida returned to her life greatly humbled. The Dairy Boy spent one last time with her... and left. Let's just say he was a Dairy Boy in more ways than one...
Merida is heartbroken and horribly ashamed. She genuinely had faith that he was a good man. She runs away for awhile. Tries to hide.
Pocahontas finds her though, and reassures her. Come to think of it, Pocahontas has been her most constant supporter, the one who calms her, and even when she was lost, the one who always found her.
So obviously, they fell in love. Childhood best friend, anyone? But that damn witch wasn't done with her.
There's this thing called magical residue. Curses, spells, any sort of magic gets rubbed off on people, and it's so strong, it can stain on generations. It can even build up on a single bloodline.
Merida has a child with golden hair she gets from her father, and powers from the magic that has built on her family. The witch steals Rapunzel for her own gain- money, youth, what have you- and sequesters her away in a tower. The whole family is furious. Belle gave birth to three more children- Merida's brothers. Ella, Aurora, Pocahontas, everyone helps to desperately search for the baby.
Rapunzel grows up in a bubble. She knows as much as the witch deigns to tell her, which is little. She simply has no idea of the outside world.
One day, she sneaks to the window and dares to gaze out. Her hair is so long it tumbles over the sill and reaches the grass. A young guard finds her. Rapunzel cuts her hair (the magic is in her blood anyway) and braids it into a surprisingly sturdy rope.
Every week, this man brings news and information. He is her access to the outside world. He's everything Rapunzel could have ever wanted. He even makes her dare to long for freedom! And then everything goes to spoil. The witch finds out. She tries to kill the guard so no one knows of her golden treasure, but when she pushes him out the window, Rapunzel goes tumbling too.
In his final moments, the guard protects her- putting himself between the ground and her fall. He gives his life for hers, and Rapunzel has nowhere to go. She just uses the information the guard has given her, and finds the kingdom from which he hails.
There, she is greeted by his friend. A young woman by the name of Jasmine. Apparently, Jasmine was once the princess, and married a man of common birth because she believed she loved him... until he stabbed her in the back and exiled her. Turns out he just used her to gain power. The guard that had loved Rapunzel had rescued Jasmine many years before. Jasmine still cared for her kingdom, and the guard provided her cover.
He was her closest friend, and she had been hearing all about this girl in a tower with hair as long as a tree was tall. Jasmine thought he was full of it, trying to sell her a tale. Then Rapunzel appears, covered in blood that is not her own. Broken and afraid. Jasmine immediately takes her in. A friend of the guard was a friend of hers, and she knew how much Rapunzel meant to him.
Jasmine teaches her about the world in a way that Rapunzel never could have learned in a tower. She learns life. Rumors and stories have circled the continent for many years. A little girl had been taken as a baby. Somehow, it just resonates with Rapunzel, and when she follows it, she finds her family.
Amazingly, Merida and Pocahontas have had enough of the woods. The whole fam packs up and moves to the beach. This includes 94 year old great-great-grandmother Ella and Aurora. It is here that Moana is born and grows up. That magical residue is strong as ever, and it gives Moana an afinity with the water.
Now she knows that men don't sit well with this family... but... She spends so much time in the water that she runs into people, and surely this curse only applies to human men, right? Mermen should be totally different. News flash: the curse does not care what race you are.
Yes, Moana gives birth to a little mermaid names Ariel. Ariel has to spend much of her formative years in the sea with her father, only getting to visit Moana and her grandparents, but they try to make it work. Until Ariel's father passes away from an illness. Moana has moved on, and I guess it's just a thing with guards, but she marries a guard of a local kingdom, not unlike her mother did. Mulan. Ariel longs for land and her family, so she makes a deal with a witch. Every step she takes will be full of pain, but it's worth it to walk on land.
She catches the fancy of a prince. He loves her, she loves him. They have 3 children. And then he dies in an attack on the castle. Ariel flees, officially traumatized by her surroundings (it only took two generations this time) and fearing for the safety of her two daughters and unborn baby.
She doesn't stop for ages, until she is surrounded by mountains and winter had set in. Ariel thinks that surely she'll find a cabin, a shack, ANYTHING to take shelter in from the cold. Her stomach is heavy and her children are exhausted. They find a small cave- if you could call in that- and rested away from the wind. And out of the snow emerges a woman with dark black hair and eyes that glitter like quartz. She loads up the small family in her sleigh pulled by milky white reindeer, and takes them away to a strange palace seemingly made of ice.
Locals call her the Snow Queen, the Ice Woman, the Slate Heart. She personally just likes Mira. Ariel's eldest daughter also once had an affinity with water like her grandmother Moana. And what is ice and snow but water in a frozen state? Elsa is easily taken with Mira, who is happy to teach her.
Anna is fine to play in the snow forts they erect and pelt them with snowballs. Melody, their little sister, seems to long for a sea she's never seen and a warm sand she's never felt.
Ariel couldn't bring herself to ever go back to the ocean. She was much more comfortable with Mira's endearing awkwardness and comforting warmth. Fear of the curse rose as the girl's aged. Elsa was friends with a silly boy named Jack Frost, but it turned out later that Elsa was aro ace, so they were just best buds. Melody managed to find the sea, and easily met a merman she was fond of, but he was a Trans man, so she seemed safe.
To everyone's surprise, Anna was the victim the curse chose. Some fancy noble charmed her, and he knew an alarming amount about the magic of her bloodline.
Anna managed to get away, but the damage was done. She ran, afraid, to a place it seemed no one would find her, because let's face it, no one would expect a girl who had grown up in snowy mountains to move to a muggy swampland.
The idea of working hard came to her with ease, a trait that had passes from her... hold on, I gotta count. Great-great-great-great-grandmother.
Anna picks up a job waitressing at a local tavern. There's another girl there named Tiana who is working to own her own tavern, but was set back due to dealings with a... "Frog Incident." Turns out she'd had a run-in with curse and a cheater as well.
Though it pained her to take money from her dreams, Tiana felt bad for Anna. She shared her home, her money, and some DAMN good food. Babies are also needy. This one is the main character. I haven't decided her name, but I know she'll make those who have done her family wrong pay dearly.
After all, great-great-great-great-great-grandmother Cinderella had been a queen, with Belle as proper heir to the throne. Snow White had been a princess. Jasmine had. Perhaps even Ariel... All these women had been a part of kingdoms that spanned the continent, and were now in disarray from weak leadership and corruption.
I am not going to marry a prince. I may not marry anyone. Curse be damned, this isn't about love, it's about uniting the country and establishing peace. I am going to fix all the wrongs my forefathers created.
Excuse me, I saw your post a long time ago on Pinterest

and I saw just now on your page you don't like reposting, but when I first read it, I really liked the idea and wanted to keep the story going. I ended up with a story I was hoping to share with others, and it would be really cool if you wanted to read it to. My question is; can I post it on Wattpad? I don't know how to properly give credit and I wanted to make sure you didn't feel slighted.
You're more than welcome to write your own version, it's a pretty simple idea, but I don't feel comfortable saying it's okay to write a sequel to my specific version. Feel free to just change up a couple details and go nuts. If you do want to credit me for the idea, the only place I've posted the story myself is here on tumblr.

When you put it like that, I would sorta see it as a sequel, so I appreciate your response, but I should probably let it alone for Wattpad. However, I would really love to share the story with you because it was such an inspiration! I'm kinda a noob at Tumblr, so would it work if I reblogged with the story to your response?

It's my favorite time of year.
When Christmas is in full swing and all the movies are playing on loop.
And I get to talk about my theory of the connection between the WhoVille's of The Grinch and Horton Hears a Who.
So we all know the icon that is Jim Carrey's Grinch and his love interest, (*cough* Cryptidfucker *cough*) Martha May Who.
Tumblr media
And there's a good chance that if you had a crush on the Onceler,
Tumblr media
You simped for that black haired mf Jojo and noticed the furry complexion of the Who's of his time.
Tumblr media
Now let's take a step back. Horton's Who's are living on what?
A speck
A speck of what?
Likely dust
And there's this fascinating thing called clouds. We're aware that clouds are made of water, but did you know that they look like that because those particles stick to dust?
And that dust sticks to precipitation, which includes rain, sleet and SNOW. Now where is the Grinch's WhoVille said to be located? Oh, I wonder. Could it be a SNOWFLAKE?
So location-wise, it doesn't seem like such a stretch that these two places to be one in the same, just in different seasons.
But there's more
What if I told you that Horton's Who's are living in the future- and I don't just mean when the movie was made!
Let's circle back to the relationship between Martha and Grinch
Certainly it's not a stretch to think that Martha was hella thirsty. I mean look at the scene where the Grinch bowls her the fuck over when he goes to recieve his award for Holiday Cheermister!
Tumblr media
Bitch was in shock for a good ten minutes just l i v i n g.
And if I know my genetics, it's not a stretch to believe that any child between her and the Grinch could come out a little more hairy than your average Who. Maybe they keep the green, or maybe it fades with a few generations- either way, the genes may end up favoring a color more like skin or fair hair- at least in certain areas.
Tumblr media
Ya see, I'm not entirely convinced that blue and white is a "suit." Could just be his fur- if we already know there are green genes, then blue is hardly beyond belief. Unless Who clothes are made from shaving the fur of other Who's... or maybe animals? May need to think on that a bit more... But I digress!
The fur becomes a dominant gene. I guess the sexual charm that comes with it does too because if we are meant to end up with a society where hairlessness is nonexistent, that trait must have become extremely favored. The only issue left is the horrors of the eventual inbreeding that has resulted from this twist of fate, but that is something neither you, nor I, can fix.
If you cannot tell, I am running on less than optimal sleep. Your day better be as ruined as mine.

Not gonna lie, I'm normally one of those fans who hangs back and doesn't contribute my thoughts to whatever media I'm into at the time. I enjoy the headcannons, character dissection, and I am grateful to every artist. But I must say, since I've been brave enough to start posting comments and sharing my thoughts? It's been such an amazing response and I there's this special feeling of community with others in my fandoms.
I'm feeling all the emotions in this Chili's tonight.

I'm not one to shy away from a crossover.
Jesper Fahey would absolutely adore Hazel Levesque.
He would think she's the coolest and they'd line up bottles on fence posts to shoot. He'd teach her card games and cons (much to Nico Di Angelo's disapproval).

I swear I always feel like this is peak cat emotion, but I want to sit under someone's hands and let them play with my hair in a way that gives little scritches on my scalp. I want a girl with diligent little fingers to braid my hair and I get little happy vibrations in my body because I feel so loved and safe

Concept: firebenders constantly smoke, but their lungs are built to where it doesn't do anything to them.
They can do any substance that you can light on fire, but there's a mad lad that just bums incense like a 13 year old goth girl who listens to MCR.
