wait im so down with this. i can imagine guy hassling clark about his identity and ‘how has no one figured it out yet? like seriously dude?’ and clark is just over guy continuously bringing it up—clark tries his best to differentiate his two personas and mostly doesn’t dwell on it bc he’s just grateful that no one’s figured it out. so he just offhandedly makes up that his glasses are magic or fancy kryptonian tech to get guy to stop
they threw the hypno glasses explanation into the superman movie bc they knew that people were gonna bitch and moan about the glasses not being a good enough disguise
