Summer R-99 and Morty R-99

Ramblings of these characters under the cut... It's kind of a long read...

Also, please guys... This is not a ship...

Anyway..

In this one, their parents died in some kind of accident. Their Rick was much more reckless and cruel, often taking his anger out on them. Mostly on Morty, as he got on his nerves more. (He didn't beat them, rather they were subject to cruel and unusual experiments that often pushed their limits.) Rick constantly moved them around for a reason they were never made privy to, and they were often in a new home almost every year. This began when Morty was 9 and Summer was 12 to ages 18 and 20 when things got a bit more out of their control.

Nothing was permanent in their lives, except that they had each other. Summer R-99 is a bit more protective of her brother, as he is the only thing she has left to consider family, after they lost contact with their grandparents from their father's side. Often going to bat for him whenever he was in trouble.

However, when it came to Rick, it was almost as if she couldn't defend Morty. Morty couldn't understand why at first. But he later came to forgive her. But the guilt weighed even heavier on her. She felt useless and weak, cursing herself for fearing Rick and not defending Morty from him. She would try to make it up to him by taking him to fun places like arcades and fairs. But it never eased her guilt. And it would get even worse when Rick would disappear with Morty on some dangerous adventure he needed him on, sometimes for weeks on end.

Anyway, that's all I'll share for now. It's still in the works so it might be a bit clunky...Thank you for reading.

Hot take as much as I love good sister Cass & as much as I tolerate good brother Dick, Steph is just the superior sister figure & Duke the superior brother figure when it comes to Damian as they see him as a kid no strings attached & I adore that, that's why it burns me everytime I see a fic where Damian is needlessly mean to Duke & Steph & vice versa.
