having a lot of toh thoughts tonight, so here's a few :] I think that king and the collector would be life partners ( probably platonically, but mostly just whatever keeps them together forever hehe)

i also think the collector would take luz's passing the hardest (given their history with it and all...) and i think she'd know this and do her best to prepare them for it. so here's me trying to deal with all that.

my headcanon is that Hyria gave the staff to Vylad fulling expecting him to place it in the nether so the final battle between Irene and Shad could occur (after all, the rise of shadowknights and the darkness in the realm could be sufficient enough need for the Matron to return). Vylad was a logical and emotionless entity, and obviously he would understand her words and do the right thing.

But Vylad instead decided that the place that needed Irene's help most would be where his brother was.

hi everyone! so update on my last post about timmy. her stool & urine samples came back and while she is realtively healthy for an older cat, she has developed chronic kidney disease. while this is a scary thing to hear, she is in the very early stages and so far just needs a change in diet. this special food costs a little extra, so we’ve dipped into our funds slightly for that, as well as getting her rabies vaccine updated. she is still going through with the surgery, and her official date is june 12th! while i’m nervous about her being older and going under…i’d rather risk it and get this nasty rotting tooth out of her mouth before something else happens.

saw this book in B&N yesterday and just ordered it from the local lesbian bookstore, its by a fourth generation user of Hand Talk. i had never once heard of or thought about it before (yet another erasure from colonization and occupation) that of course before there was asl, the first nations people across turtle island would come up with some sort of signing system. it was (and still is, though like many native languages is now endangered) utilized for cross tribal communication, storytelling, and use by the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. this specific variation is often known as PISL/Plains Indian Sign Language but author Mike Pahsetopah chooses to realign with the original terminology and stresses it was never intended to be translated to English and adds a lot of cultural context.

and it's only one example, this map below shows how many varieties of hand talk / sign languages were being used across pre-colonization turtle island. (stolen from the PISL wiki page)
