Bonus “remote sketchbook” entry from December (that I forgot to post here lol). The little pitch I included with my Kon-El / Supernova sketch led my brain to do the same for his “nephew” Jon. I’m of mixed feelings, as I like his development since being aged up and wouldn’t want it undone, but skipping over his entire adolescence took away so many potential great stories. So the idea is getting kinda back to basics while retaining the spirit of his growth since he was aged up.

One more “remote sketchbook” update! Drawn with dollar-store supplies and finished quickly in whatever moments can be found. I’m back home now, but I couldn’t draw the rest of the Young Justice “big four” and leave Bart out! Messed up a few spots but these ain’t about being pristine, so here it is.

Oh no, it’s another shot at a Tim Drake redesign. Redwing! As clever and resilient as Batman, but with a perspective, style, and methods unique among the Bat-Family. Tim Drake bounces back from too many hardships and comes into his own, confident and ready to make his mark as a high-tech fighting detective eager to shine a light on Gotham’s dark corners.

Oh hey, I forgot to post my other “remote sketchbook” updates here. I was recently away from home for an important reason but brought a sketchbook and got the cheapest possible dollar-store art supplies, and this is what happened!
Just a little sketch and identity concept for forever fave Kon-El, aka Conner Kent, aka Superboy. Less a redesign than reworking the best parts of his looks into something familiar but new, cool and distinct (IMO).

Final(?) remote sketchbook update! I mostly finished this over a week ago, but it was a busy week. This time I’m trying out a revamp for Cassie Sandsmark, aka Wonder Girl! The daughter of an archaeologist and a god of Olympus, Cassie is newly tasked with finding and reclaiming the Pantheon’s lost weapons and artifacts as the Wonder Seeker!

My wife found a cheap used magazine spinner rack, and we made and printed off some topper signs for a DIY comic display! This house is gradually morphing into a private comic shop.

When you see the “Mary Jane and Paul” plotline is still happening.

A new “classic” Impulse short story by Mark Waid and Todd Nauck was a lovely surprise in Flash #800. The first panel above isn’t relatable at all. 😅
