Hunter Wizard Cosplay Progress part 3
I am technically finished with this cosplay, but i want to take better full outfit pictures so for now here is the completed head piece.
Tumblr media
I stitched some fabric leaves onto a fabric cap I made and then created a detachable hood to go over it. The "bangs" are connected to the fabric cap but the side hair pieces are just branches that are attached to hair clips so that it was a bit easier to put on. I definitely need to make a new mask, the shitty craft foam one is well... Shitty.

Hunter Wizard Cosplay Progress 2
Part 1: The Top
Branch antlers progression!
Made a wire stem covered in tin foil.
Tumblr media
I covered it in scrap polymer clay and added a bit of texture.
Tumblr media
Then painted it all black and made the leaves out of some old air dry clay.
Tumblr media
I brushed some details onto the branches and glued on the leaves.
Tumblr media
Finally I attached it to a headband with some wire.
Tumblr media
Theoretically, I attached it in a way where I can remove the branches from the headband. Hopefully that is helpful when I make the hood, otherwise the next stage of this WILL break my brain.

Hunter Wizard Cosplay Progress
Part 2: The Antlers
A progress photo for my first cosplay attempt. Very happy with how the top turned out! I'd call it my first successful sewn top, even if it definitely has some clear issues. The inspiration was a doublet, but if you removed the padding. The lining is light green as I've seen some reference photos where Hunter Wizard is wearing a green version of their top so I wanted to see if a reversible version was possible...
Technically this is still crochet, since I made the lacing through the i-cord technique.

What I crocheted Week of 12/12/22
I’m back, I think I’m finally in a state where I can commit to updating both here and the shop in 2023. I tend to just crochet wherever the vibes of the moment take me, but I am planning on accepting commissions at some point.
Trying a new thing where I post progress pictures periodically. Definitely planning on refining the Totoro hat to be able to sell, I think moving the face higher up and doing the purple beanie style of ears.
The purple beanie is an attempt at the cat ear design, since I thought it could also work for a bat. The color palette was inspired by the character of Stephanie Brown from DC Comics. Thought about adding a yellow bat symbol to the brim, but I think the person its for would prefer the more subtle version. Bringing, some yarn just in case I’m wrong.

I wish I had a better camera to show how bright this green boy is. This is a first attempt at a small version of the Tickle Me Wiggly doll from Starkid’s musical Black Friday. I think he turned out pretty good for me not being able to use a pattern, which I actually wrote down as I made it! (Except for the darker green patches cos I got lazy)
Now it’s time to set him off to destroy the world in his full 4in tall glory.

Momo is so much harder to make than Appa wtf. I can see why I only found like one crochet momo online (which I didn’t use as inspiration, much like the appa I made this up as I went along)
It wasn’t my intention to make both of them at any point but one of my friends specifically asked me to make momo so, here we attempted.

Crochet Appa - Attempt 2
Didn’t end up changing much besides the style I did the tail and making the arrow stripe out of felt instead of yarn. Makes him look much better than before. Somehow ended up being even smaller than the first one, idk how.

@laddywitch replied to your post: Crochet Appa: Attempt 1...
love this! will you be sharing the pattern?
Hopefully some time in the near future. One of my roommates wants me to make her one for her girlfriend so while constructing that one I’m going to fine tune the pattern a bit.
Glad you like it!

Crochet Appa: Attempt 1
This is by far the most difficult thing I have ever made without a pattern. It’s a bit wonky in some ways but it definitely didn’t go as poorly as I expected. Smaller than I thought he’d be.
Made with medium acrylic yarn and a size G/6 hook (i.e. 4.25mm)

This little guy took a long time to make. But my friend paid me for them so that’s okay. The only struggle tbh is that at least three people have since asked me to make them one (in an “i will pay you” kind of way not in the “aww I want one” way) so I feel like I’m definitely going to get carpal tunnel again.
If you want to make your own I got the pattern for free off of this lovely person on Ravelry (fingers crossed the pattern was their own creation and not some struggling etsy artist. But honestly there is no way to know)
