The Abbot, from Curse of Strahd:Reloaded
The first image is the celestial vivisectionist as he prefers to present himself, as a handsome youth, then, when confronted, he peels open, revealing a vision of something closer to what he really is. And then he does it again.
Tried to evoke a Renaissance-idealized male with the Abbot - an Angel Gabriel that’s dressed in ratty homespun, rational and chaste. Within, he’s a fallen deva, a failed cherubim. The corrupted multitudes he contains spilling out as mouths and wings and claws - the vivisectionist unveiled.

shit ton of people are repeating the thing about hayao miyazaki saying AI art is an "insult to life itself" and just as a reminder he was talking about the zombies that team made that were intended to be scary in how much they shook, but instead reminded him of his disabled friend. the insult to life itself was referring to the team trying to make scary real symptoms that people live with.
it was a quote about ableism. if he has said other things about AI type stuff, that is a different thing. but that specific quote was about ableism.

Cyrus Belview began in Ravenloft i6 simply as the vampire's mad butler, and in 2016 became the paternal head of the Moreau-esque mongrelfolk, all transformed by the mad Abbot of St. Markovia. I like the 5e version of Cyrus, but I felt he could be more expressive and his character design made more exaggerated. This is my attempt to remedy that. Hope you like it.
Also, in Curse of Strahd: Reloaded Cyrus can task the characters with recovering his beloved cauldron-stirring spoon, so I made sure to include it here.

I just stumbled on your stuff. It's wonderful. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I'm trying not to just absolutely flood my players with your work right now. But I'll probably break down and do just that.
I saw you mentioned Lyssa as a character you were thinking of drawing. Were you thinking of doing any of the other characters from older works of Barovia, (ie. Jacenty Girghiu, Ardonk Szerieza, Peter Teodorus or Rebeka Ditrau)?
That’s actually a great idea… but I have to admit I need to learn more about these characters first.
Every time I think I’m versed in old Ravenloft lore, more layers appear.

Love your Curse of Strahd work! Would you consider drawing Azalin Rex or some of the notable NPCs from the other Ravenloft Domains?
Absolutely.
Azalin is definitely on the list, as is Lyssa van Zarovich and a Femstrahd. Anyone else you’d like, please let me know!

Portrait of Tatyana Federovna, for Curse of Strahd.
Without those to do him wrong, Strahd would be no one. Tatyana Federova was a beautiful peasant who fell in love with Strahd's noble and devoted younger brother Sergei, immediately throwing both into the path of Strahd's anger and starting the series of events that start the theme of the module.
Tatyana's portrait is only shown once in the module, in a gilded frame in the King's Suite, in order to show the resemblance between her and Ireena, but I thought she deserved an illustration of her own. Enjoy.

A family portrait of the Martikovs, a totally normal innkeeping family from "Curse of Strahd".
From the left, we have Bray, mother Danika, father Urwin, and young Brom, dressed in subdued but fantasy-themed mid-1750's clothing-ish? Inspired a bit by the original artwork.

Do you have any plans on doing Baba Lysaga? I feel like there's never a good depiction of her.
I do! I have a few ideas on how to approach everyone’s favorite vampire nanna - hopefully they’re be suitable for what you have in mind.
