A word of advice to everyone in the HL fandom. Please be careful. Look out for each other. Call out negativity, hatred, bullying, or lies. 🫂

I wasn’t initially going to address this, but since entering the HL fandom from the very beginning, I’ve experienced countless disappointments regarding the behaviour of some of its members. There’s an overwhelming sense of elitism, negativity, and, quite frankly, a prevalence of disingenuous "personas."

I’ve encountered individuals I once admired as talented writers/artists, only to be disheartened by their unpleasantness in private interactions. Some project an image of being open and welcoming while simultaneously belittling others in private servers and judging the very things they claim not to judge on Tumblr.

A lot of them actually talk down on fem!MCxSebastian shippers and it’s just like…listen, if you spout “don’t like, don’t read” to everyone who follows you, then stick to your words. Instead, they judge straight shippers. Or go against people who don’t like pro-ship, etc. It’s so toxic.

It’s so sad to witness some of them taking credit for others’ fic ideas, too. Or gatekeeping headcanons to the extent that people are genuinely frightened that they will be hated if they don’t follow them. This is a real thing by the way…just recently someone told me they’d fear being hated by the entire “Sebinis fandom” if they didn't keep to someone's HC. How awful is that? That they have to feel that way?

Perhaps I’ve just been welcomed by the wrong people at first…I feel almost naive to have believed them. Even when I first came into the HL fandom, I was told about the ongoing drama surrounding someone nicking ideas and writing them as their own. Immediately.

What’s more alarming is the apparent existence of a particular clique that seems to orchestrate and encourage this kind of behavior. I’ve talked to them personally and I’m genuinely relieved to have distanced myself from them after becoming suspicious of their words and the utterly abhorrent things they’ve said in various servers.

It’s clear that many would perceive them differently if they were privy to these conversations, even some of the so-called “big names” in the HL fandom. Some already have and are in the same boat as me now.

I’ve met a few genuine and kind individuals here, yet I can’t shake the feeling of mistrust that dominates the fandom. I hope there are others who share this sentiment because, at this point, I’m uncertain how to feel...I am more disappointed than anything.

why it is that when people are writing a fic for a certain character they add tags for different characters. Like if it’s a fic for Tom riddle x reader, they add tags for Malloy x reader or Harry x reader, EVEN X OC. SOMETIMES EVEN CHARACTERS THAT ARENT EVEN IN THE SAME SHOW/MOVIE/COMIC.

Also, if it’s a poly fic, you shouldn’t be adding regular tags like the ones I said earlier. You should only be adding ones like this for example:

Poly!maruaders x reader OR Remus x Sirius x James x reader.

NOT!!! Each character with the reader or oc.

Adding other characters in this way in the tags, from what I’ve seen, was never a thing until around just last year.

LIKE YALL PLEASE STOP ADDING TAGS THAT ARENT PART OF THAT SPECIFIC FIC.

Okay so I’ve been playing Hogwarts Legacy right, and I’m rewatching the Hobbit trilogy movies currently and I had the best fucking thought.

Two things, first: if you do end up taking the teeth and have actual medical experience, try to make it look like someone who didn’t know what they were doing, because they look at the markings made and deepen their search based on if it had crude markings or not. Second: you could totally buy or make some acid to not only dispose of the teeth but also the body. And if you were going to use acid for the body make sure to buy from different places, shipped to different places if you wanted to ship it, use a different car/license plate, and change appearances.
