being such a big fan of tng i am biased towards captain picard, but seeing the way sisko hates picard (blaming him for his wife’s death) makes so much sense. BUT ALSO i think if sisko had seen (like st fans) the episode “family,” he would be much more understanding towards him. i can imagine how just experiencing the battle against the borg would lead to him blaming picard. i adore star trek (also yes im finally starting ds9)

rewatching s5ep17 “the outcast” and soren’s monologue:

the fact that this episode came out in 1992 and was considered “ahead of its time” hits so different considering these basic arguments are needed to defend the existence of trans people today
