Wishmaster's Concert - Event

Grab your battle jackets, your ear protection, and your tickets! It's time to ROCK!

Event details below the cut.

Welcome to Bald Mountain Arena, the largest performance arena in all of Twisted Wonderland! Located in the tallest mountain along the range of the Shaftlands rests this monumental landmark. Rumored to be the host of spectacular all-night events, Bald Mountain Arena is said to put on some of the most notable alternative rock and metal festivals in history! But they only do so every once in a blue moon.

Tonight, Bald Mountain Arena's Metal Festival is set to occur, hosting some of the most famous metal bands in all of Twisted Wonderland! Once the sun sets, the first band will take the stage. And with enough sets to last until dawn, the highlighted band, Wishmaster, along side UnderDark, Pixie Metal, Fighting Dragons, and Her Draconic Majesty, will make even the bones of the undead rise and shake!

Where do Yuu (you) fit in?

Thanks to Cater's eye on social media, Yuu and the crew managed to snag some tickets just in time! Everyone is planning to meet up at the Dark Mirror with plenty of time to find good spots in the crowd. They might even get a chance to grab a bite to eat - much to Grim's delight - should everyone arrive on time!

Additional Event Background

This event was heavily inspired by a combination of Chernabog's segment in Fantasia (1940), as well as the song "FantasMic" by Nightwish. The song, if you are unfamiliar, is a metal homage to Disney and many of it's iconic works. Referencing of course Fantasia, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, the Black Cauldron, Pinocchio, and many others. (I highly recommend reading the lyrics, y'all. They are beautifully written.) If you need inspiration for this event, I definitely recommend taking a gander at those two inspirations.

The event consists of a lineup of various Disney inspired fake metal bands. The arena is a huge concert arena, with increased security, food trucks, and hydration stations. The crowd will absolutely form rowing lines, conga lines, and a fully realized mosh pit formed in the center below the stage. Glow sticks are permitted!

Cyril Zeman (created by @ramshacklerumble ) is the guest character for the event, and a Chernabog expy. He ia the face of the band Wishmaster, providing the masculine lead voice and lead guitar.

The Pop Music Club absolutely bought tickets for the concert. Even if this isn't Cater's vibe, he can't deny the virality that would come at taking photos for MagiCam. Lilia, of course, not only is eager to go, but he knows Cyril as an acquaintance. (It would be a crime for him NOT to show his support.) But more eager than any of the three to snag this once-in-a-life-time opportunity is Sebek. As described in his 100th Anniversary vignette, Sebek thrives in the concert scene, and will jump at any opportunity for a chance at "training". He knows that the audience here will bring their A game- so of course he has to rock even harder than the rest!

Characters can engage in the audience, in whatever ways make sense. Fake bands are more than welcome to join the line up, and if you decide you want to create OCs to play in any of the fake bands, you are more than welcome to do so!

- Submissions must be kept PG-13 or lower.

- No Alt. Right Symbology Permitted. No exceptions.

- OC, Yuusonas and Canon characters are all welcome!

- Yuusonas ENCOURAGED to be SSRs!

- Feel free to make card art, character designs, illustrations, comics, create Band Logos, write fics, create edits, or even submit music if your heart desires! Want to do something else entirely? GO FOR IT! Create as much as you'd like- there are no submission limitations.

- If you use any of the event assets (e.g. Background art or Band Logos) as provided by one of the event collaborators you MUST credit the artist in your post! (See below for details)

Wishmaster Concert - Intro Blurb

A firm rap on the wood broke through the tranquil silence like a clap of thunder over a barren plain. The stone walled acoustics left nothing to imaginary or questionable realities as a second rap followed. It forced him to look up from the dry pages of his philosophy book.

Annoyance crossed his face like a fire came alight. And yet, it fizzled as soon as it sparked, as he called out to the requester, “Who is it?”

“It’s Sebek, sir.”

Like the very knock that preceded him, the voice behind the door boomed like a canon. Despite the feedback, Sebek lacked a proper handle on his vocal control. 

Kingsley rose from his desk chair. He opted not to waste any time, especially in understanding that the reptilian fae wasn’t exactly a patient man, and he wasn’t exactly keen on the prospect of being scolded unnecessarily through the wooden door. As he strode to the door and carefully opened it, his eyes met the golden gaze behind it. However, the immediate aura behind them, albeit still retaining some level of intensity, felt far more lax than he expected. He couldn’t help but feel his own brow quirk ever so slightly. A subtle flicker of curiosity sparked behind his own.

Giving Sebek the subtlest of once-overs, he then took a quick pause over his attire. The other student wore what appeared to be a denim vest, covered in patches and an assortment of studs and buttons. Black bands covered his wrists. And knee high leather boots protected what appeared to be a pair of pristine black pants. He clearly appeared ready to head out somewhere. And frankly, Kingsley had never seen the fae in these sorts of civies before. It struck him almost instantly as odd and out of place.  

"Sir,” Sebek addressed him, now with a far less stressed tone, “get your things and be sure to pack adequate ear protection!"

"...come again?"

"We're going to a local concert, and you're going to need to make sure you're prepared,” the reptilian fae explained, a sly grin forming on his face. He crossed his arms and stared confidently at the prince. 

The pause lasted only a moment before Kingsley, "...we?"

"Don't make me repeat myself," the fae snapped, “You’re coming too.”

A pause fell between them. But before Sebek had a chance to assert himself further, the prince turned about face, leaving the door slightly ajar. The prince headed further into his room. Moving toward his wardrobe, he began to swap out his uniform. However, just as he was about to grab his battle jacket, he peered back over his shoulder and called out, “Who’s headlining?”

“Wishmaster!” the fae answered joyfully, “Accompanied by Her Draconic Majesty, Fighting Dragons, UnderDark, and Pixie Metal.”

The failed prince removed his battle jacket and an appropriate tee from his stache and swapped garments in record time. And without another word, he joined the other student, awaiting him with great anticipation.

A/N: I felt like I had to include the scene that I imagined in my head at the start of the event. It likely wouldn't be the full set of chapters, and probably would be expanded if this were an actual event. But I really felt like including this little snippet would help illustrate part of why Sebek and Kingsley duo in this event. Plus tbh this is the shitpost that started this whole thing to begin with. I had to included it.

Woo! Birthday man is finally here to kick off my OC roster's Loungewear series! I don't have a vignette for it, outside of ideas for things that might happen.

Him catching Deuce staring at the contrast in paleness between his hands and his arms, due to how often Galen's been wearing gloves.

Galen having a moment to talk about his childhood how he'd always have to tie his hair up either in a bandana or ponytail, cause otherwise it'd turn into a scalp-aching tangled mess. He assures he takes much better care of it now.

The unicorn lived in a lilac wood, and she lived all alone. The vampire, however, was not able to live so far off from humanity, much to her dismay. She would occasionally mourn her lack of solitude, even as her proximity to society was what kept her alive.

Tonight, the Lady Thea's attendance was the most spoken-of at a fête in town. Surely, the guests whispered among each other, there had never been a noblewoman in this city as ethereal, as delicate. She had arrived fashionably late, long past the time the dinner had been eaten and cleaned up after, and the moment her white-shod foot touched the ballroom floor, all eyes were upon her. Even the orchestra accompanying the dance came to a shuddering halt.

Her bright eyes scanned the room, sparkling at the young hopefuls who yearned to be her choice, all those who wanted nothing more than to be her partner for the evening. She sighed internally. Humanity made her feel so weary. They were all so needy, so fawning. They had nothing left in them for her to respect.

Finally, her eyes rested upon one young man at the edge of the room. He wasn't as... keen as the others. Graceful-looking, though, with a head of moonlight hair and eyes that shimmered like the lights of the North - when he could manage to keep them open. A human, so disinterested by the nobility? How unusual! A tiny smile twitched up the corners of her mouth, and she gathered the folds of her voluminous gown in one hand to approach him.

The Lady Thea moved across the floor, weightless as a cloud, and stood before the mysterious young man. "You," she said in a voice like stardust, and held out a hand. "I'll have you as my partner tonight. Shall we dance?"

A pleased murmur rippled through the crowd. The Lady was not often so quick to choose, and this young man was a beautiful match for her. Emboldened by the approval of her subjects, she closed her eyes a moment.

Just long enough for the young man to draw his long silver blade, and remove her head in one stroke.
