All the King’s Men

Hello all. Tonight I come to you with the Good News about Donald Trump. Two years ago, I spoke with a friend of my father’s and a friend of his about what we were experiencing as a result of January 6th. On that day and the months following, we witnessed the start of what I called then and another person (a republican politician) called later a second American Revolution.
I probably mentioned this in a previous blog but after watching CNN on July 4 of 2021 I learned the other side of the story, from the protestors’ point of view, and found out about the woman who was shot and killed. A couple of weeks ago, I read that another protestor lost his life that day and one police officer lost his life three days later from complications from the event.
I mention this because as an author of historical fiction I studied the Boston Massacre which started the American revolution and remember that Crispus Attucks, a black man, was the first person killed.
The woman who died on January 6tb, Ashli Babbitt, reminds me of Attucks in this narrative we are witnessing.
As it stands, we are beholden to the British Crown financially (emotionally). Until we get our independence from it, like when an adult wants to break free of financial dependence on his/her parents, we cannot be totally self determined. Former President Trump offers the right leadership for this liberation; akin to George Washington leading our forefathers in battle for our physical liberation from Great Britain (6,000 free black men fought on the colonial side).
Until next time God loves you and so do I.

Friday Blog: REST
Good Friday everyone. I’d like to start by speaking of the passing of O. J. Simpson yesterday. I start this way because I know it was something on everyone’s mind but difficult to talk about because of the times we are in. However, O. J. was not murdered nor did he commit suicide so the coincidence is purely happenstance.
I’d like to note that, unlike George Zimmerman, O. J. was tried in civil court and lost while Mr. Zimmerman was never tried after the acquittal for his murdering of Travon Martin and that Zimmerman pursued civil litigation against Travon’s family, after he won his criminal case.
To me, this sheds light on the fact that Mr. Simpson was in fact truly “not guilty” of the crime charged against him and in the end was truly a victim of racism and the racist way of going about things in this country.
I believe the “Colombian Necktie” narrative put forth by, now deceased, Atty. Johnnie Cochran and that, more than likely, Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered because of a large outstanding drug debt. I also believe that if he wanted to kill her and Ron out of jealousy he would have done it as soon as he found out.
Now, we have to deal with the legacy of a rich, talented, and successful Black man who was never able to get a fair shake in this “just” land.
Until next time, remember God loves you and so do I.

Friday Blog:
All the President’s Sin
Good weekend to everyone, noting this post was created today and not Friday, as the description suggests. The other day I was visited by a old High School friend of mine who was wearing a T-Shirt that read “Mo money mo problems” like hip-hop icon and producer P Diddy made famous in the late ‘90s. I decided to expand on that and say “Mo spirit no problems”.
In attempting to make more sense of out of spiritual concepts, I saw a young man on TikTok say that food comes then security and freedom. I meditated on that for a while and came up with the perspective that thoughts are food, the brain (which houses the mind/soul) is security and words are freedom.
Looking at the race for the White House this year I and probably most of us are flabbergasted by the idea of former President Donald Trump running from jail and probably governing from prison, as I saw a Republican politician advocate on TV.
This concept is disconcerting for me and I’m sure a lot of people who’ve worked hard to live as just a life as possible.
It took me a while to see that America is an empire, like the Egyptian, Roman, and Hitler’s “Third Reich” were before and former President Bush’s “Axis of Evil” are colonies or desired colonies our country wants to possess.
We have a Republican form of government like the Romans who had a senate. We practice a very abstract form of democracy like Nazi Germany that serves the Emperor/President and is “elected” like the president, and serves as a barometer or survey of how the country wants its money spent: liberally or conservatively.
Looking back at January 6th., I see that it was the culmination of what Ministers Louis Farrakhan peacefully started at the end of the 20th. Century. I and my best friend attended the first one which was followed by the second in the millennium. I, my best friend, and the other black men there atoned for not living a life that reflected their highest potential. “The Million Man March” (first and second) was followed by “Black Lives Matter”, The Women’s March, the emergence of “Antifa”, Colin Kaepernick’s protest, and finally January 6th. which was made up mostly of white men and violent.
As I meditated on this further I saw that white men were more the only ones who could have attempted what they did armed. Taking a look at
“The Civil Rights Movement”, I see even further that non-violence in order to “reach” the people it wants to benefit-planned or unplanned.
Until next time, remember God loves you and so do I.

Blame it on Jesus?
Hello readers. Back once again with another Friday Bog. With all of the preliminary politics going on in my state and next year’s presidential election looming, I decided to focus on the only politics I’m interested in these days and that being the politics of the Kingdom of Heaven.
A decade ago I talked with some Jehova’s Witnesses about the Bible and what it had to say about a number of topics. One of the Witnesses said that there were “elections being held in Heaven”. Upon hearing this, I became more interested and we challenged each other with hypothetical questions and opinions on what the Bible was talking about.
In Revelations the Bible addresses what is called “The first death” and how everyone will be killed and later resurrected for judgment. Upon this death we are to “pray that the death won’t be long.” Afterwards, those chosen will reign with Christ for 1,000 years as kings and priests.
This may seem far fetched to some but in light of current events it doesn’t look so strange. Thinking back on my youth and days as a non-believing Christian I was a fun loving extrovert that loved to socialize and party. Much of this is touched on in my latest book, The Learning Curve . Although I went to church often, most of my time was spent at clubs, parties, dances, and sporting events. I guess you could say I was pretty cool.
Today, however, along with work, running errands, second jobs, and household chores, you could say i am pretty square lol.
I suppose that is what comes with growing older but in the crevices of life God reminds me of his wonders and infinite blessings and I am humbled by his grace and inspired to live fuller. Looking back at that I guess you could say it’s pretty cool.
Jesus’ two sacrifices: “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the world,” - Revelation 13.8., and his crucifixion are testimony of his payment for us for life on earth.
Busy trying to make it out of the house this morning I thought if someone pays for your meal and you don’t like it is incumbent upon you to tell the waiter rather than blame the person who paid.
At a temp job last year I mentioned to my supervisor, generally speaking, that “the world doesn’t owe you anything, but you owe it to yourself to get something from the world.” To which she smiled and agreed.
Until next time remember God loves you and so do I.

Friday Blog: New Age Serfs.
Hello again my friends. I come to you today with a heavy heart as a result of the death of Central State Hospital patient Irvo Otieno at the hands of the “authorities” he was under the “care” of. The good news in the wake of this horrible tragedy is the hopeful change in America’s attitude towards mental illness and the mentally ill.
As many of you probably know my latest book, The Learning Curve, is based on my life story and past as a sufferer of the disease. Although my faith in God placed me in a position to be miraculously healed of the illness the topic is still close to my heart as are those who suffer from the disease.
Spiritual knowledge has lead me to the understanding that the mind is the soul and cannot be ill. As a result I see the illness as more of a brain disorder.
My noting of these things is not by any means a excuse for Mr. Otieno’s death as a result of the criminal actions of Law Enforcement and staff of the state run “medical” facility. These issues to me remain at the forefront as does the homicide of Tyre Nichols by the police officers In Memphis, Tennessee. America has a bad habit of “blaming the victim” instead of dealing with the perpetrators of incidents like this. From my days at Hampton University, I remember taking a course in English history where I performed very well and learned about the English Revolution and the thoughts of every day citizens involved in it. I remarked to some friends recently about a book I read in that class called The World Turned Upside Down by Christopher Hill that quoted former serfs who sought a “leg up” in society as a result of the change in the societal order that lead to the establishment of a merchant class and more power for lords who served the King.
Many of these commoners were called mentally ill by the rich and those in power because their ideas threatened the current social order. We must be careful not to “demonize” those who speak up against the tyranny of those in power and continue to support the free speech of all. As a High School teacher once told my class, there was an old saying, “I don’t agree with what you’re saying but I will fight to the death for your right to say it.”
Until next time, remember, God loves you and so do I.

Snow in July
Hello readers, and glad many of you still are. The title for today’s blog comes from a conversation I had with a stranger last spring while waiting for the bus. She told me her name and we talked about God, life, and current events. She mentioned the weather we are having and how “crazy” it was (quotes mine) and how she remembered it snowing in July one time in Richmond, VA. I shared with her that I had a dream once about it hailing in here in June “Lo, and behold”, as my mom used to say, it did two months later lol.
Vanessa Williams the real Miss America had a song “Save the Best for Last” that mentioned the snow coming down in June. Now, before you get any ideas about the stranger’s and my relationship, the change in the weather pattern since the pandemic is very noteworthy.
As I have mentioned to some family and friends the Mayan Calendar predicted a great cataclysm in the year 2012. In the span of human history being eight years off isn’t too shabby. It caused me to look at the Roman Calendar we use with some suspicion.
The pandemic itself also caused me to draw closer to my faith as it prophesied in Revelations in scripture concerning the four horsemen of the apocalypse, which means revelation.
Acts 2:17 talks about God pouring his spirit on everyone and our “sons and daughters” prophesying and our “young men” seeing “visions” and our “old men” having “dreams”. -New America Standard Bible. A middle school classmate of mine brought this to my attention around the year 2012 and I took hold of it at the time as well as some words he’d said God told him: to not “hold back”
We are in some of the most trying times in human history and ‘though we’ve made some great strides it is no time to stop now. Many signs from my faith what I call “Born-again Christianity” point to this and all people of faiths and knowledge are being tested. Hold fast to God, love, faith, and hope; and press on.
Until next time, remember God loves you and so do I.
