I wish you a thoughtful Ash Wednesday, comrades, and remind you that Sacrifice is the Cosmic Currency. Though I serve and seek at the call of Old Gods, I was raised in Catholic Culture. I have long felt that this perspective, that true change comes only through sacrifice, is powerfully illustrated in the story of Jesus. Even the God of Abraham could only twist the arc of fate, the nature of His covenant, with a sacrifice (of Himself to Himself). For this reason I find Lent a good season to meditate on this mantra. My personal top nine works for 2020: those I am most proud of, for one reason or another (and often the ones with which I most struggled). Despite the distance imposed by plague and the reaper's scythe I had the honor and privilege to work with some incredible people in 2020. Thank you to @gaywonk for always fighting the good fight no matter the cost or difficulty, and for letting me lend my strength to the cause. Thank you to @mellowscapepgh for inviting me in on your creative journey this year. Thank you to incredible friend and unmatched DM @raybucho for keeping creativity alive even when I've felt most adrift and powerless this year (and for letting me breathe life into multiple cultures of people in 2020).
