I hate generative ai with a passion.
I don't use it, never will use it.
I enjoy writing and sharing my fanfics, the creative process itself is fun for me because then I get show what I have spent hours writing, and hope the people who read my fanfics have as much fun reading them as I do writing them.
Reblog if your art project has not, does not, and never will make use of generative ai at any point in your creative process.

Got into Date Everything (you know, that game about meeting the personifcations of furniture and objects and stuff) and like... This game is hilarious, I do have my nitpicks, and my playthroughs have been a little bit soured by the multiple bugs I've encountered, but I do have playing this game.
My favourite character is Jacques, angry short pirate, Ship-in-a-Bottle. Very wordy, very fun, looks cool as hell.
I. have. fanfic ideas.
I'm hoping I'll have more energy to sit down and write in the near future, because there is a lack of Jacques fanfic...and I've already read the ones up on AO3.
I have yet to go poking around here for fic though, because AO3 is my preffered platform for both reading and writing fanfic, it's so much easier for me compared to tumblr.
But maybe If I go digging I'll find something I haven't read yet.

Time to avoid tumblr until I can buy and play Deltarune. Sure, I mainly use it to look at fanart of whatever I'm a fan of, and cat videos, maybe ineract with an ask blog when I can get over my general online awkwardnes and stop lurking. But like...I have not played Deltarune due to not really having a way to play it until it got a ps5 port recently.
So...Time to avoid tumblr until I can buy and play Deltarune.

Ask Box is back open, here's hoping I don't get anymore of those "please donote" asks because I do not have the money to spare, nor am I comfortable forcing that onto others.
But hey, if you've read my fanfics and have questions, feel free to pop in and say hi. (Anonymous asks are disabled for the time being)

Ask Box has been disabled because I'm being spammed with people asking for donations.
Let me repeat what I put in my pinned post: I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO DONATE, NOR AM I COMFORTABLE FORCING THAT BURDEN ONTO OTHERS.
I do not have the disposable income to just give twenty bucks to some stranger on the internet, let alone the several strangers that put their "please donate to me or share this ask if you can't" questions in my bloody inbox.
This is tumblr, not a fundraising site. I am here just to look at fanart, cat pics/videos, and once in blue moon I'll have the confidence to share fanfic ideas or link to something I've written over on AO3.
I left my ask box open on the off-chance that maybe someone who reads my fanfics finds this blog and wanted to ask questions, or wanted advice, or just wanted to say hi.
Though I'm guessing the asks asking for donations are sent by bots just targeting whoever has their askbox open? Because if anyone reads the pinned post I have on here would know that I am not comfortable recieving, nor answering any questions that revolve around asking for money.
I'm just getting frustrated because like, I'm a nobody on here, and i sure as shit don't post often enough to gain anything remotely resembling regular followers to my blog, but I still get copy-pasted asks asking for donations.

About the Blog
You're either here because I followed your blog, saw a link floating around on discord, or I finally updated my AO3 profile with a link to this, lol.
And yeah, I'm an adult, just a chronically ill one, lol.
I don't post much, I spend most of my time here on tumblr browsing art and other blogs, might advertise a fanfic of mine every now and then, do a reblog once in a blue moon, but otherwise I'm just chilling.
I do not post my fanfics here, as I find tumblr too unweildy to use as a fanfiction platform. So you'll find my works over on AO3
The ask box is open for on the off chance that people want to ask questions, but I will be deleting any asks that ask for money and other fundraisers. I do not have money to donate, and I am not comfortable with forwarding such requests onto others.
Current Interests:
Slay the Princess

new Slay the Princess fanfic!
Wanted to work on something that'd be easier to write in short bursts, started this little thing.
Spoilers for the game and eventual Pristine Cut spoilers later on.
But enjoy a self-insert OC in Slay the Princess! She's gonna befirend the Narrator so damn quick he'll have a character arc before these two even reach Happily Ever After.
You can read it on AO3!

Shit like that is why I'm not touching the BG3 fandom ever again. So much hate towards a character I like to the point where I felt bad for liking the character, saw no point in continuing my fanworks that featured said character (all of them), and dropped out of the fandom entirely because so many people were posting hate for that character in that character's tag and postitive discussions about that character were like trying to find a needle in a haystack. it was isolating, it was lonely, I felt like I couldn't share my enjoyment of the game because I like a certain character which a lot of people hate.
Congratualtions haters, you activily make fandom a worse experience for others when you shit on a character in the character tags. Someone's hated character might be someone's favourite...it doesn't why, it doesn't matter if the character is something you see as problematic or is just one you hate with the passion of a thousand suns...let people have their fun.
We're supposed to have fun here, not ruin other's day because you strongly dislike someone's fictional blorbo. Just keep in mind that everyone is gonig to be drawn to something in the fandom you're in, and sometimes that something is your least liked character.
Disliking a charcter is fine, but some awareness of "someone might actually like this character" when interacting with fandom would go a long way.
Am I dragging my own personal biases and hurt into this?
Yes.
I might get flak for this, for all i know this thing might come off as preachy or whiny, or I'm too sensitive, but that is beside the point.
The point is we all share the fandom space, and a certain level of respect goes a long way for making fandom fun for everyone. Regardless of whether you like or don't like characters. your view on ships, or discussions about the source material itself, we're all here to have fun and express our love for a piece of media.
"Is it a safe space to say i hate-" NOT IN THE MAINTAGS IT ISNT

I have been gripped by Slay the Princess's gameplay, music, the characters, the narrative!
The game is just amazing, I haven't been this motivated to write in a while (just due to physical health, anxiety, life deciding to hit my like a truck, and so on), this game has been a breath of fresh air during a time where I just haven't been doing well.
So, yeah got two chapters out, if you like the game, and have played Slay the Princess: the Pristine Cut, please go give this a read! (Warning: This fic contains spoilers for the game and the recently released pristine Cut version)

Holy shit, reading all of this just felt so damn good. I'm blind in my left eye and need glasses to see through my right, so reading other's experiences with only one functioning eye is...nice.
I thought I might share some of my experiences, because I don't really think too much about it honestly, I just know how things go for me because being half-blind is my normal.
Slopes and uneven ground are the worst. Walking is more than just seeing the ground in front of you, its also feeling it with your feet. When just out and about during the day, I can see just fine, but I do need/prefer stable ground because my depth perception is off and my balance is shit. So when dealing with say, a hill or holes i nthe ground, I take it slower, feel out each step because I can't tell how deep something is by just looknig down at it.
My night vision is also...not a thing, lol! I've gone out at night before, but would have to rely on having a torch (flashlight for you americans) with me and point down at my feet so I can see where I'm walking. For real, one time when I was walking home i nthe dark I accidently stepped onto the curb of the road because I couldn't tell I was veering that close to it, but I course corrected pretty quick. Because of my shit night-vision, we've got a motion-sensor light in the hallway for me, and I have a little lamp in my room for whenever I need to get up in the middle of the night. I don't necessarily need to turn a room's light on to see, I just need enough to tell where I'm going because gonig from darkenss with some light to full on "let me turn the bathroom light on for you" means I need to take like..ten, twenty seconds for my eyes to adjust to the suddenly bright light flooding my vision.
I'm not sure if this next thing is because I'm half-blind, or just a me thing, but I tend to not do well with navigation or cluttered environments. For example, If I need to find a phone on a table covered in clutter, you can see it, its right there surrounded by other things, but its there. I cannot see it, its not in an obvious spot where I could notice it at first glance, there's too many things, even if you point it out to me, I would still have trouble finding it. This applies to video games too! I often get lost in video games, or need my friend to point out something I missied because I just don't notice it amongst everything else.
I hate bright light. I'm very sensitive to bright light to the point most of the curtains in my home are closed, I wish real life had a brightness setting, and sunlight glinting off cars on a sunny day is my own personal hell. I've gotten flashbanged walking into the bathroom a couple of time because Mum opened all the curtains in there for important reasons I can't remember (like, she did close them later on, they are normally closed but sometimes they're open if the windows need to be cleaned or something).
People think I'm more blind than I am at first. When they first learn I can't see out of one eye, they assume I need to have things pointed out to me, like "watch out for the step/curb." when its during the day... I can see just fine, that's what the glasses are for. Yeah I can't see shit at night and will let people know that, but I know what I can and can't do...it's like people take a bit of time to really get the message that only under certain conditions do I need help and can manage the rest of the time perfectly fine on my own.
I prefer to have people walk on my blind side, because that's the side I'm keeping a closer eye on, so its easier for me to walk and talk with someone if they stay at my left.
Let's see what else? I do the head turning thing too! Its way easier and less eye strain to just turn my head towards something to look at it.
With my vision being the way it is I need to be mindful of what videogames I play. Yeah there's the obvious thing of most horror games are out because I would need to crank up the brightnesn super high and its frustrating not being able to see shit, but there's also ui elements to take into consideration. If a game uses small font, or a small hud, that's just eye strain and a headache waiting to happen. I've bought games wheere I;ve had to stop laying them because the console ports just aren't made for people like me who need larger font sizes and ui scaling, and I don't play PC because my laptop isn't a gaming one, and its much more comfortable for me to play console games because my large tv means less eye strain because its a bigger screen.
Speaking of the laptop! I wish most sites were zoom-friendly...like I need to have my web browser set to be zoomed in because again, I need the larger font and ui elements even when browsing the web. Most of the sites I frequent are fine with this (namely tumblr and AO3) but some of the sites i do use aren't zoom firendly and I have to zoom out to use the site properly, and that means tiny font and stress because I have my shit zoomed in for a fucking reason! but no, a lot of sites just don't do well with the fact that I have stuff zoomed in at 90 or 100%, like they weren't desinged to be used with zoom or larger fonts in mind.
I have to write my fanfics with font size 22 or 24 and then scale it down to a more presentable size 16 when I want to share previews of what I'm writing via google docs. Thankfully I don't have to worry about doing this on AO3.
Some of this wound up being a little bit ranty, don't take it too seriously, its just little things that frustrate me sometimes.
Stuff about having monocular vision that people don’t know (in my experience)
1. You only ever sit on one side of a room. (Especially if you’re in class) If you’re blind in your left eye like me, you sit to the left of the room so your right eye has the greatest scope, and there’s not much to your left to look at.
2. Harder time seeing past obstacles. People with two eye vision have the perception of both their eyes blend together for one image. Without this, you only have one eye, so you’re don’t get to see past obstacles the same way. For example if something is blocked for your right eye and not for your left, you can still see it through your left. For people with monocular vision this isn’t possible.
3. People don’t walk on the side of your blind eye. It may just be me, but because I’m blind in my left eye I tend to accidentally bump into people if they’re on my left. So when people walk beside me I naturally go so they’re to my right, or they do, without it being discussed.
4. 3D movies are headaches. Even though we’ve progressed past the red-blue type glasses, 3D just doesn’t work well for monocular vision. (And you know those fun optical illusions? A lot of them don’t work at all- nothing happens!)
5. Things like grabbing a pencil without looking at it are extremely difficult. (Due to lack of depth perception, you have a hard time discerning where things are in 3D space). This also stretches to having bad posture and balance. Meanwhile, things that are flat are relatively easy.
6. You turn your head when you’re looking at something, so your good eye is focused on it. This includes tilting your head at worksheets, TVs, and computer screens- and also people.
7. Seeing in the dark is also much harder, because people rely on their depth perception for it, and without that stuff gets real hard
8. The headaches. Most people with blindness don’t experience total blindness, but instead low vision, where their vision is not able to be used in a way that’s helpful. Your brain tries to merge the images, or use your bad eye to see something in the peripheral. This just makes your head hurt. Much like people who need time to adjust to having glasses due to the headache, getting headaches is common because your vision is always at odds.
9. More susceptible to eye damage. Since you’re not overly aware of your bad eye, you may not notice if the sun is shining directly at it. I tend to squint with my bad eye whenever I’m outside, without thinking about it. Additionally, you’re more wary of anything that could damage your good eye. It’s the only one, so you gotta be careful with it.
10. Also, it makes things really, really weird if there’s a bright light from one side but not from another. There are often after images that float in my vision.
11. Looking at things that are moving can be hard. I can focus on an object, but if a camera is panning in some direction without being focused on one thing in particular, I just stop being able to make sense of what I’m seeing. It becomes very jarring.
12. Sometimes it’s not that your eye necessarily has anything wrong with it, but that your optic nerve isn’t fully connected. So the eye may be healthy, but your brain shut it off, and the connection between the light coming in your eye, and the way the brain interprets it, never fully formed. Funnily enough, I’ve heard that this can cause the connection between your good eye and your brain to be stronger, as it is with mine. For some people it’s the opposite, and it makes both of their eyes worse. Peoples experiences can really differ.

Ok I want to say something controversial
But you are responsible for your own safe spaces. You can block tags, block words, block people.
“But i thought fandom was supposed to be a safe space” —yeah you have to curate it.
Unfortunately one persons’s safe space may be another persons’ trigger. That’s ok. Simply block them, block the tag, block the word etc. They can do the same for you.
Maybe I’m just out of touch, but I’ve been around since the days of “don’t like, don’t read” and that’s a good philosophy. If it squicks you, scroll past. If it causes you anxiety or upset, block! Plenty of people are responsive if you ask them to tag an upsetting trigger. And if they’re dicks about it, block em.

I wanna be his friend.
His snake pals look like they'd be such goofballs in private, but are actually wise and stuff too, they know the value of having fun, but over time they've fallen into the same depressive haze that Messmer has over the course of his endless crusade.

messmer closeups (meow?)
i love how his snakes always seem to be paying close attention to him with one of their eyes. definitely believe they are implied to help be his eyes just from seeing how they interact close up. the lower one specifically seems to always looking near his feet to help him avoid tripping on shtuff

Elden Ring Headcanon: Messmer Edition
Spoilers below, these headcanons are based on item descriptions, and thanks to some helpful people in the discord I'm in for clarifying some lore that completely flew over my head.
Ok, so, just as a disclaimer: I do not care who you ship Messmer with, or how you view him, the following headcanon is just my interpretation, that does not mean that everyone should share said interpretation. If you do, awesome! if not, just continue on with your day, the following headcanon has no bearing on your enjoyment of the character, the game, or what you do to express your love of Elden Ring.
Messmer seems very aromantic coded to me. He has friends among the knights that serve him, cared about them to the point he listened to them when they wanted knowledge preserved, and mourned the loss of a friend when two of knights rebelled against him because of Messmer's serpentine nature. He also has a lot of love for his family, with how he was an older brother figure to Radahn and had a brotherly bond with Gaius, not to mention how he's turned himself into a symbol of fear and uses his fire (which he has tried to get rid of multiple times) all on his mother's orders.
Yet he has no interest in romantic relationships (R.I.P Rellana), and I just, think it'd be neat if I headcanon him as aromantic (Note: that does not mean he's also asexual, I am specifically focusing on aromanticism here) based on the fact that he cares a lot about his knights and his family, but had no interest in Rellana in a romantic way.
Plus, its all in good fun, and aromantic rep is sorely lacking in media, so what's stopping me from reading certain characters as being aro-coded? Fandom often interpret characters as gay, bi, trans and so on for their headcanons and fanfics, so what does it matter if I pick a character to write as being aromantic?
This is, after all, a hobby, its for fun, and if you personally don't agree with this, that's ok. Whatever ideas you have, and whatever ideas I have can coexist in the same fandom space.
Now, here's a headcanon that's a lot less...controversial.
Messmer sees via his serpents, his remainnig eye, as seen in his phase two transition, is a glass one, a prosthetic eye. He probably can't see out of it. Granted, there is a lot of blodd on his fingers after removing it, so maybe it is a magical functioning eye or something, but it could go either way. But given that when we enter his boss room for the first time, we see one of his snake friends before we see him, so I feel like that opening cutscene hints at the fact that he uses his snakes to see.
I like Messmer, he's very friend-shaped.
I just think he's neat.
Edit: The lengthy disclaimer at the start of this post is just me covering my bases, I've gotten guilt-tripped and generally felt unwelcome in a couple of other fandoms for simply having an aromantic spectrum headcanon, or you know, being an asexual fan of a game and its characters when most of the player base is clearly not asexual. (A different game, not Elden Ring, the elden ring community has been very accepting, but the Doubt Still Remains because of my previous experiences)
Thank you for reading.
