I bet when Bruce was a teenager, adult men (and some women) told him to 'smile more' because of his feminine energy, sometimes saying he'd 'look prettier'. Bruce wanted to strangle them for the disrespect. Alfred itched to use his sword.

Nowadays it still happens. Bruce's children are furious, especially Jason.

Here's the thing, Bruce is interesting bc he's built with the endurance of feminity and the freedom of manhood; I do agree with Nick Offerman's profiling about traditional masculinity and how it serves as social imprisonment, because, holy hell, yeah.

But I see this happening because Bruce? Is not a masculine presenting man. Not willingly and not in a way that's not for show.

What truly stuck with me and many others during the Batman was the " feminine" vibes depicted in the manner in which he was treated.

Choices invalidated (him not wanting people in his home), portrayed as " crazy" and " hysterical" for expressing anger or simply defending himself (Oswald doing the whole "easy, sweetheart" shtick) and let's not even talk about Falcone being so condescending to him.

I imagine teen Bruce most definitely had the " countdown" done to him. It was quite disturbing in itself, but to throw a party for it...Well. Alfred's fashionably late and professionally fast in wiping them out.

Oh, and let's not even forget how Bruce would get quite frankly scolded when he adopted the kids without a ring on his finger. Jason goes from crying in his papa's shoulder, " Why- why are they so MEAN" to " GO ahead. Say something. I'm feeling punchy. "

I want a teen bruce au, but like. I want him to brim with teenage apathy. I want him to be defensive and venomous and sharp.

I want him to have affection for people that aren't even his yet. I want him to break them like only angry teenagers can.

I want a teen Bruce who's not concerned with people. I want a teen bruce who's pointing a gun at a thug's face because he's not gonna miss another chance.

I want Jason to slap it out of his hands. " You were going to shoot him!"

Jason's entire heart SHATTERS. But there's a very deep, terrible understanding about adult Bruce. There's a hateful thing in him that understands him, now.

And I want Dick to be pushed. I want him to be cornered. I want him to listen to this angry man with a boy's body saying he DOESN'T believe Damian is his kid.

Because he hates kids.

He'd never have one willingly.
