Student 1(to teacher): Have you ever been to West Virginia?
Student 2: Isn’t that a myth?
Student 1: What? No, West Virginia is real, it’s there.
Student 2: Oh... alright then.

Being strong
In chemistry, for a reaction to be strong, it has to be completely reacted. Weak reactions are reactions that the products react back into the reactants. In order to be strong, all you have to do is commit to a decision. Don’t go back and forth. When making a decision, choose, and keep going until you reach the product.

People Watching
So I was people watching (as I do) while waiting for a tram when I overheard this interesting predicament. I looked over to see a man with a majestic beard talking about how he loved his beard but also loved showing off his lip piercing. I hope that he finds the perfect solution.

Oh Deer
So on a road trip, my mother, brother and I(all city-folk) were going through a forest. To play a game, we said that who ever saw a deer first, won. About two minutes later, we found our first deer: dead, grossly spread through the highway. We haven’t played that game since.

The Greatest Showman
So I just watched The Greatest Showman and it was fantastic! The only thing is that the young P.T Barnum is way too mature for his age. Have you met a 7-year-old? He will definitely care if people think he’s crazy!

So I wanted to share a store that I visited in New York! The Strand Bookstore! It was pretty amazing and really big! If you love books and are in New York, you should visit this place. I got a copy of my favorite book, Inkheart!

So I recently went to New York for the first time and I would like to share some thoughts that went through my head.
1. There is a Costco in a mall.
2. There is a Society of Jewish Science. I didn’t even know there was a Jewish Science.
3. I haven’t seen any schools! Where are they?
4. Dang, these building are really big!
5. There is no difference in activity whether it’s day or night. The only difference is that it’s dark. People still walk around and places are still open at 1:00 AM. It’s kinda awesome!
6. I can imagine Spider-Man here.
7. There are so many trash bags on the street.Â
8. Wow, that’s a big Scientology building.
9. Oh my hotel is right next to is... Great...
10. There’s a Spongebob musical on Broadway.
11. I can’t believe people actually live here.
12. I can totally see Elf walking around here.
13. Apparently people don’t care about cross lights. People just go!
14. I met a dog named Bernie. He likes eating rocks.
15. I met someone who was ranting about microchips in bodies. They seemed nice.
16. Saw a homeless with a sign reading “Don’t be like Congress, pass a bill”. That was pretty clever. I wish I had a couple of bills.
17. It’s super cold here.Â
And finally 18. (As I cross the street while the cross light tells me not to) Wow I feel like a real New Yorker!

So today I sold my books at a local fair! I did better than I expected and sold a lot! I also explained how I was interested in rebinding books! Hopefully I’ll start taking informal orders for custom books!Â

So, long story, short, I’m mouse-sitting sitting for a couple of hours!
Long story, today I was selling some stuff at a local craft fair. During the fair, I found out that a pet mouse was abandoned! My fried who was there decided that she really really liked the mouse but after playing with it, she thought of other stuff. She left after a while but I stayed (because I’m still selling stuff at the time). After the fair was over, there was still no one to claim the mouse. I after asking my friend if she wanted it(which she decided to), I grabbed the mouse. HOWEVER, she is working now so I get to play with a mouse for a couple of hours! Yay!

So I learned that your brain devotes more area to certain parts of your body than other parts. So this is what the human body would look like if those areas were actually how the body was made (did that make sense?). So basically the brain senses more stuff from the hands than your legs, stomach, or chest area. Thankfully people don’t actually look like this.

So this is my little one. Her name is Ellie and I got her in July. Now she has a pretty interesting story. When I got her, I didn’t know that she had fertile eggs in her belly! Apparently the reptile store puts all their leopard geckos in a tub when cleaning their tank. Anyways, after about two weeks of having her, she laid the eggs. I did some quick research and make a make-shift incubator. After a lot of waiting and making sure the eggs and Ellie were okay, the eggs hatched!! I’ll post more pictures of the eggs and probably more details. I think this is more of an overview/introduction of my little one!

Nursing
So I guess the first few posts will be continuing my background. This one is... about nursing.
I’m going to be a nurse. Yeah? Cool. I’m still in my first year of college so I’m pretty far from my goal. My basic pathway is that I’ll finish with an associates degree and I’ll be able to get a job as a registered nurse. Then after that I’ll go into a RN-BSN program and get my bachelor’s. Now that I got my pathway is said, the problem is getting to that goal.
Since I am in a local community college, I’m still living at home. It’s okay but I really want the college experience. I want to try and move into an apartment with my friends next year and attend a different community college. I know that seems kinda crazy but I know I can do it. I have some money saved up and I’m pretty stubborn. Anyways, after hopefully moving, I’ll get my associates and be able to get a normal job.Â
Some steps that I’m taking to make the whole move even possible is getting a different high paying job. I just quit my job because the manager was pretty mean and I definitely having my soul killed. I have applied to higher paying jobs so hopefully I’ll be able to get those. I’m also going to take a Certified Nursing Assistant program next semester. That way when I move, I can work in a hospital and get work experience.Â
I’m sure I’m still forgetting a bunch of stuff but I’ll edit this post or tell everyone later. I guess that’s it for now. If anyone seeing this has any questions, let me know and I’ll try to answer it. Â

Sign Language Event
I guess this post will be more of an event in my life than my background. I’m still figuring out which type of posts I like more so this start might be a little more inconsistent than usual.
So I’m taking my first sign language class ever. I have always wanted to learn sign language since it’s just cool. Anyways, my class requires me to go to a deaf event which is kinda cool. The other day, I went to one.
The event was at a Starbucks which was weird. It was a Starbucks that I’ve always gone to and apparently they’ve had a deaf event for a long time so I was surprised I had never stumbled upon it. Anyways, when I got there there was a lot more people than I thought there would be. I felt a little awkward so I just got a coffee. Then I went up to what I saw were hearing people and started trying to talk. It did work since we were all mostly first year learners. It was actually really cool to communicate without spoken word. It also was cool that I saw someone from my class there too. It made it seem less awkward. I also saw someone from my anatomy class which was weird. It’s pretty cool that people know a lot more than you think. I stayed there for about an hour and a half but I probably could have stayed for a long time. It was really hard not to talk but I really liked it. I also didn’t talk to anyone who was actual deaf. Just hearing people who were way better at signing than I was.
I think it would be cool to go again and I probably will. There are some that are near me that happen every once in a while. I’m also going to try and take another sign language class next semester. I guess I’ll figure it out.
