getting together:

they pined for the longest time before getting together

they send a selfie of them doing something cool to the camp fam and Brooklynn private messages Roxie in all caps, MARRY HIM!!!!

the girls and Kenji tease Dave and Roxie so hard. so does Darius when Brooklynn tells him they have crushes on each other (Ben is just chill with it)

Dave, texting Mae at 2am: HELP ME IVE FALLEN BADLY IN LOVE WITH ROXIE I WANNA ASK HER OUT BUT I DONT WANNA RUIN OUR FRIENDSHIP

Roxie, texting Mae at 2am: I have fallen in love with Dave, and I want to tell him, but we're such good friends and I don't want to ruin things between us

Dave tried to ask Roxie out previously (but Roxie is still damaged from being the classic weird girl who got asked out by a popular girl who was only doing it for laughs during secondary school) so she thought he was making fun of her and initially rejected him and was kind of angry at him for a while and they just didn’t talk about it after, but slowly the pain faded and they apologised, and went back to being friends

a few months later, Dave pulled a Darius Bowman and said something like, “well good thing i love you more than [whatever they were talking about]” and Roxie's like, What The Fuck You Actually Love Me?????

and Dave goes on a whole long spiel about how he's fallen in love with her he’s fallen bad and it's totally fine if she doesn't feel the same way but he wanted to tell her because dating her would be the best thing he ever does but again totally fine if not and they can still be fri—

the camp fam are the first people they tell that they're dating. they've been teasing Dave and Roxie for having mutual crushes on each other for ages

Mae is the second group/person they tell, and she is so glad because keeping that a secret from BOTH of them was stressing her out

Dave slowly adopts all of Roxie’s british slang words into his vocabulary

Dave has a Knack with making weirdly good food combinations. he dips grapes in sweet chilli sauce. he eats peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. he and Roxie were eating falafels for lunch and there was a bowl of leftover raspberry cream cheese frosting on the side from the cake they just made, and Dave dipped a falafel in the frosting, much to Roxie’s disgust. somehow though, it tasted... okay (i can verify this combo works i swear /gen). Roxie will not hold his disgusting food creations in any higher esteem than an okay

he makes a marmite cake and that is the Last Fucking Straw for Roxie /lh

they’re always finding cool rocks and stuff on their hikes and stuff, and they give them to each other. Dave starts this and he’s overjoyed when Roxie gives him a cool shaped rock or something in return. they have a huge glass jar where they keep all this stuff, and when they inevitably move country, they always make a tradition of burying and hiding all the cool rocks for other people to find

even though Dave is the better cook, Roxie prefers to cook due to #trauma and #anxiety

when she does eventually trust Dave to cook, she sits in the kitchen while he cooks so she knows what’s going on

even when her anxiety is more under control and she’s in therapy and she doesn’t feel the need to watch him, she still hangs out with him and hug him from behind

she also doesn’t drink alcohol because of #trauma for a while, and eventually when she feels comfortable and safe enough to drink around Dave. he keeps her hydrated and fed and safe

Roxie's parents find out her assault by accident. she and her parents are arguing, Dave is defending Roxie, and he says (disproportionately angry at Roxie's parents), "how unwelcoming an environment have you created if your daughter can't even tell you she was assaulted?!" and the room just. freezes. the damage is done. Roxie runs from the room and Dave follows her immediately, but she tells him to go away, that she needs some time alone. Dave is so furious with himself, and her parents are heartbroken Roxie didn't feel comfortable enough to tell them. it's a while before Roxie feels like she can face any of them. when she does, she walks into the kitchen and immediately starts crying. the four all end up in a cuddle pile on the floor :(

the first time Roxie trusts him to hold her drink, he takes that responsibility very seriously. no one is touching his girlfriend's drink. he'll stare down anyone who even looks at her drink

Dave types like a dad trying to sound cool. "sup kidz wyd?" "sounds gr8" "where r u lolz". a horrific mishmash of typing trends across about ten years. worst thing you've ever read. Roxie types with perfect grammar and spelling. together they're like. "I love you, see you later!" "luv u 2 beautiful"

Roxie is vegetarian. partially cultural reasons, partially she just does not like eating meat. when Dave learns this, he starts researching vegetarian dishes and downloads a bunch of recipes

Dave likes to doodle on Roxie’s hands. he usually draws hearts and writes ‘DAVE WAS HERE’ in sloppy capital letters

they have those “if lost return to Roxie” “i’m Roxie” t shirts (the camp fam got them custom made for them. they thought it was hilarious)

when they marry, he gets her initials tattooed on his bicep. Roxie has his initials tattooed on her ankle. they both have a D + R (Dave + Roxie) tattoo behind their ear

dating/intimacy headcanons:

they both come from a long line of shitty exes. trusting each other and being intimate was hard at first

the only thing they can say to each other that's more intimate than “i love you” is “i trust you”

Dave calls Roxie "Rox" as a nickname

Dave only uses Roxie's full name (Rohana) when he's super sincere/serious, or about to say something very romantic

Roxie calls Dave "David" when she's pissed off or very serious about something

Roxie call Dave "Davey" only when she feels very vulnerable and/or needs to lean on him emotionally

Dave calls Roxie "beautiful" sometimes, and Roxie calls him "handsome" but that's just when they're flirting. they usually call each other by their own names because they find that really intimate

Roxie sometimes calls him “darling”

Dave likes to kiss Roxie's fingers/knuckles. he saw someone do it to the queen on tv once and assumed all people in britain do that as a greeting, so he started doing it (also Roxie is his queen)

one time, Dave gets a mild tbi from a skiing accident (which really shakes Roxie up and makes her anxiety much worse for a while), and Roxie’s kissing his head every half hour for a whole two weeks

Dave is very concerned by how cold Roxie’s hands get. he insists on holding them all the time to keep them warm. cold weather hits (uk winters are brutal bro) and he comes home with about 20 different pairs of gloves to keep her hands warm

Dave is so fucking gentle with her, it shocks Roxie so bad because she doesn’t know how to receive that affection or even show how much he means to her

but she works it out eventually

if Roxie falls asleep when she’s sitting/lying on or against Dave, he will not move. he’ll miss work for her. he’ll go hungry until she wakes up

they are NOT basic dinner date people. they tried a couple before they both decided they’d rather be eating a picnic in the woods. they’re both extremely outdoorsy people

they also like sitting on park benches and people watching. sometimes they make up stories about what they think the people are doing

Roxie loves very discreetly (not discreetly at all) stealing Dave’s hoodies and other clothes, and wearing them because they smell like him :( she keeps them until a week or two later when they no longer smell like him anymore, so she gives them to Dave, who loves how his clothes now smell like Roxie. they’re so in love im ill /pos

they also aren't theatre people, but they once went to see a midsummer night's dream, and Roxie did not like it. (it's a play about someone drinking something that's drugged into making them love someone and. yeah.) they get to the interval, and Dave asks if she's feeling okay. Roxie barely replies. so Dave takes her home, and they have a nap on the sofa. Dave initially just sits next to her so she isn't alone but doesn't get overwhelmed by touch, but she asks him to hold her. he makes her feel safe

they’re both ‘weird’ people. they match each others’ freak but they are also down BAD for each others’ freak

Dave can always make Roxie laugh, even if it’s just a little smile. when she’s sad, Dave will tell all the silly jokes he can think of until she smiles. even if he’s trying for literal hours, he would do it to make her feel better

Roxie is quite a flirt, but is casual about it. she'll call Dave a pet name, and ruffle his hair while he's doing something and secretly enjoy hearing him get heavily flustered

due to Roxie’s #autism memory, she can remember lots of random facts about people even if she only hears them once. she knows all of Dave’s favourite things

once Dave texted her to say he’s having a bad day and when he got home from work or something Roxie was there with his favourite takeaway order ready on the dining room table, and Roxie (very flustered) saying, “you said this was your favourite curry and i thought... ugh i don’t know... you might like to have it... but if you don’t want it, i—” and Dave is smiling so big

Dave Needs to be held. his fave spot is lying on Roxie’s chest. first time she did that for him, he started to cry and ended up bawling his eyes out in catharsis

they’re soooo into active stuff and sports. they save up so hard to go skiing every winter. they are members of their local orienteering company and go every weekend together

they’re very into camping as well (as long as they aren’t babysitting six kids lmao). they’ve had some of the best times of their lives camping together, sometimes sleeping directly under the stars

they go on a lot of road trips. mostly around the uk or the states, but in other places as well. they love to travel together, even if the logical and planning stuff is oftentimes very stressful. amazing memories are made on those road trips. sometimes they lie on the hood of the car and talk and roll onto their sides so they can stare at each other and it usually turns into a makeout sesh

Dave and Roxie would love watersports. they have kayaking races across a lake. they go wakeboarding and are both absolutely shit at it and laugh when each other fall in within a few seconds. they go canoeing on an english river, and in typical english fashion, it chucks it down with rain several times and one time it rains, they're eating lunch, so they're sprinting for shelter, and eating sandwiches under a tree, huddled together and getting soaked (this happened to me once. i love england /sar)

Dave can skateboard really well, and he tried to teach Roxie how to. she broke her wrist and refused to try again

when they’re older, they love birdwatching

they are both extremely competitive. they run together and it’s full of playful teasing and mini races to the nearest lamppost/bench/whatever. they compete to see who can finish their household chores the fastest

they work so well as a team. they balance each other perfectly

they’re also both quite sassy, so occasionally they’re sitting in public on a bench or something and they see something weird and meet each others’ eyes with a mutual look of What The Fuck Is That, or one of them whispers a snide, funny comment to the other, and then they burst out laughing

Roxie hates when people are late, because it Derails Her Schedule, and once Dave lost track of time and realised he was supposed to be meeting Roxie in two minutes at a pre arranged date that was a ten minute walk away, and he sprinted so hard he couldn’t talk for the first minute of the date because he was catching his breath

Dave is the boyfriend ever when it comes to periods. he'll make sure Roxie is stocked with chocolates and painkillers. he'll get her hot water bottles if she even winces in pain. he's down to snuggle for the whole evening if it'll help her cramps. Roxie texts Dave to ask him to pick up more pads and he comes back saying "i didn't know which type you wanted so i got them all" and he's holding half the sanitary products aisle in his arms

Dave and Roxie don't go to gyms often, but when they do, they go together. Dave is a very effective man repellent so Roxie doesn't risk being bothered, and Roxie is very pushy but in an encouraging way (“come on, David, is that the best you can do?”). Dave is very encouraging but in a much gentler way. they love the friendly competition. teasing each other. spotting each other for weightlifting. racing against each other

because they’re very active people, they often get sore/aching muscles. toot toot the massage train is here. Dave is so fucking gentle on Roxie’s body. he worships her i think. Roxie’s touch is so calming for Dave, she’s constantly mumbling to him as she massages and it makes him melt

Dave loves to bring Roxie flowers (her favourites are lilies) but Roxie also likes to bring Dave flowers (his favourites are sunflowers). the first time she did, he cried. no one’s ever done anything that thoughtful and sweet for him

they don’t take the time to Relax (physically) often since they’re both pretty active people, but they love tying a hammock up when they’re camping and lying in it together. Roxie would lie on Dave’s chest and Dave would curl both his arms around Roxie’s stomach and Roxie would reach up to scratch his hair and Dave would massage Roxie’s scalp and they’re both in heaven

Roxie bites her nails when she’s nervous, and Dave is always nudging her hands away when she does and tries to redirect her nervous stims into healthier ones

even though they travel a lot, Roxie relies a lot on familiarity, so she really struggles with sleeping in unusual places because the different beds/blow up mattresses aren't Familiar, so she sleeps lying on Dave's chest because that is Familiar (also they love cuddling lbfr. touch starved Roxie my beloved 🫶)

Dave is the gentleman ever. he holds doors open for Roxie even when his hands are full

he’s actually very romantic but in the dorkiest fucking way. he’d slide onto a tabletop with a rose in his mouth in an attempt to seduce Roxie and immediately fall off it

they’ve seen each other at their messiest. i mean that in a sad way but also in a fun way where they’re at a shitty diner somewhere with burger sauce and ketchup all around their mouths laughing extremely loudly about something

whenever they order food, they always give each other a bit of their food

Dave writes D + R everywhere he can. he scribbles it on walls with a marker. he carves it into paint with his nail. he writes it super small in his signature

when Roxie (firmly against graffiti and a stickler for the rules) first writes D + R on a road sign somewhere, Dave almost melts

D + R is carved on both of their gravestones as per their wills

sick/injury/mental health/disability headcanons:

they dry each others’ tears. they wipe them away with their thumb and kiss the spot they were

when Dave is sick/injured, Roxie has a tendency to be a bossy with him (“David Patrick Fisher You Are Resting Right Now Don’t Even Try To Get Up And Do Things” with her hands on her hips)

it’s her way of showing she cares (it’s also because she’s very worried about Dave because seeing him sick/injured in any way really freaks her out)

he also has a tendency to downplay when he’s sick/injured. once he dislocated his shoulder while they were going rock climbing and didn’t tell her until they finished the climb and Roxie has a huge go at him (“are you out of your mind? you thought you could just ignore your shoulder leaving your socket?? what on earth is the matter with you, honestly, i can’t believe you would be so stupid as to...” *while she’s putting his arm in a sling and kissing his injured shoulder*)

but after she is sure he is properly taken care of and all they can do is ride/wait out the illness/injury, they have a snuggle/nap on the sofa. it serves as reassurance for Roxie that Dave is Okay and will get better soon and the weight of her lying on Dave’s chest soothes him

Dave gets pretty frequent nausea, and Roxie always carries crystallised ginger and rubbing alcohol in her bag to help manage his symptoms

when Roxie finds out Dave probably has ADHD, she reads the whole wikipedia page on ADHD and 7 other medical articles on it to better understand the symptoms

similarly, when Roxie got her diagnoses of PTSD, autism and misophonia, Dave took to social media and asked people with those conditions how he can support her

when Roxie is sick/injured, Dave worries maybe more than he needs to, considering Roxie’s history with mental health. he’s also pretty stressed because Roxie will Not admit when she’s sick and insists she’s fine and doesn’t need to rest. he has to lift her up, carry her to their bed and wrap her in a blanket like a little Roxie burrito to make her rest

he also makes her some really nice soup he swears helps sickness (it’s full of ginger and only helps stomach bugs but Roxie still appreciates the gesture)

he might also bridal carry her outside because she really likes fresh air and being indoors too much is very stifling and overwhelming for her

whenever he tries to take care of her she always apologises because she thinks she’s a burden and Dave tells her every time that he just wants her to be okay

she has pretty frequent nightmares because of trauma, and Dave always wakes up to calm her down, and hold her hair back from her face when she’s throwing up into the toilet. he’s spent hours in that position and he will willingly do so every time

if she’s badly sick/injured, she’ll ask him to hold her, which Dave simultaneously loves (he loves being close to his gf) and hates because she never asks him to hold her unless she feels really really terrible

Roxie having misophonia headcanons here

Roxie and Dave get injured quite often because of all the active stuff they do. usually it's Dave being a bit impulsive and/or careless. Roxie marches into his hospital room, all "David Patrick Fisher, what were you thinking? jumping off an actual cliff— no, i don't care that it was four metres high, you're lucky it's only a broken leg. do you know how much worse it could've been? what if you hit your head? what if you— i can't lose you Davey..." and she almost starts sobbing

she'd smack him (gently ofc she wouldn't actually hurt him) and hug him so hard ("Rox... please don't break my ribs" "you should've thought of that before being a foolish, reckless—" *starts ranting*)

all the trauma of nublar + the unresolved PTSD from her assault leads to Roxie developing FND (functional neurological disorder)

because she’s a woman with a history of mental illness, no doctors believe her. Dave yells at so many doctors to take her seriously before she’s finally diagnosed

part of her FND is seizures. not the convulsions you may be thinking of, but absence (where you go unresponsive for a few seconds) and atonic (loss of muscle tone and collapsing to the ground, looks like fainting) seizures and drop attacks (which look very similar but only last a few seconds, and atonic seizures you can lose consciousness)

with both, they’re a terrifying and vulnerable experience for her due to trauma, because she can see, hear and feel everything that’s going on (mostly; she dissociates quite a lot) but she can’t move at all. Dave always talks to her and reassures her until she comes out of it

with her atonic seizures/drop attacks, Dave always catches her somehow. he’s literally thrown himself in the way of whatever she’s about to crash into a few times just so she doesn’t hurt herself

he’s so good at catching her head if she’s about to have an atonic seizure, he can do it without even looking. he has boyfriend spidey senses

she occasionally has motor tics, mostly at nighttime. they’re usually painful, and often involve punching/hitting tics. Dave always gets a cushion when he can to shield the part of the body she’s hitting, but if they don’t have one or it’s urgent, he’ll use his hands

she’s also very sensitive to light (due to FND) and always wears sunglasses, which she sometimes gets insecure about but Dave tells her he thinks she looks super cool like a spy undercover

her FND usually means she’s more or less fine on outings but as soon as she gets home, she has a complete crash and will lie down, mostly unable to move, for about half an hour after. Dave knows not to book/plan anything for at least two hours after they do a Thing

On Roxie’s FND flare up days, they cuddle on the sofa and watch the good place. that’s their comfort show even though Roxie finds Tahani kind of annoying (it’s funny bcos they’re played by the same actor)

because of Roxie’s FND, she can’t drive safely alone, and has to rely on Dave (or public transport on good days) for lifts. she feels bad but Dave always makes time for her. they like car journeys together anyway, they can listen to music and chat and stuff

she also gets denied access to some of the activities they do because of her FND, so she and Dave find a way to do the Thing on their own, somehow

culture shock/difference/living in england headcanons (yes i made an entire SECTION for this):

Dave gets the WORST culture shock when he goes to live with Roxie in london. what the fuck is a digestive and why are people putting it in tea?? is it a laxative or something? HOWEVER he tries very hard to get into it. he buys a union jack bucket hat and wears it unironically to show he’s happy to be living with Roxie

Roxie takes Dave to his first pub and he LOVES it. he adores the dartboard and pool games. he chugs beers while talking to the pub lads and swapping stories. somehow he fits right in. he is pretty lightweight tho so Roxie is practically dragging him back to their car

Dave does not know british slang so Roxie has to teach it to him ("hey Rox, someone called me a wanker, is that a good thing?" "well..."). sometimes she makes him guess what a word means just for fun. he never guesses right

Dave loves the rain. the first time it rains when they're together, they're in england and Roxie's like, "oh shit,here we go again" meanwhile Dave is overjoyed and saying "we never get rain in california this is so cool!!! :D" and he's just jumping in puddles and running around in the rain like he's never seen it before and Roxie watches from underneath their umbrella with a smile

when Dave first sees double decker buses, he is smitten. they’re one of the coolest things he has ever seen. he begs Roxie to ride in one and they sit at the top at the front, Dave watching the ground pass by, enthralled. Roxie just stares fondly at her goofy ass boyfriend

Roxie introduces Dave to a cream tea (scones with jam and cream eaten with a pot of tea, quite a popular British Thing™) and he gets sad because his scone crumbles when he tries to spread the cream on it and it looks like such a mess

Roxie teaches him the Knack (leave the cream out of the fridge for five minutes beforehand, and hold the scone together with your fingers to make sure it doesn't fall apart) but he still makes her make both their scones

Roxie is also extremely stubborn on cream going on the scone before the jam. she sees Dave start to spread the jam onto the scone first and literally shrieks "what the fuck are you doing?!"

when Dave is living with Roxie and they're making plans for rescuing the kids, he notices Roxie's been getting extremely stressed out lately, bad he doesn't want her falling back into the depression she was in, so he asks her what she enjoys doing for fun, and she's like, "uh.. nothing much. theme parks are fun i guess" and Dave looks up theme parks near london but doesn't find anything close enough, so he goes through a folder of Roxie's old photos he finds in her apartment and finds one of teenage Roxie standing outside a place that says thorpe park over the gates, so he goes to Roxie and says, "hey Rox i booked us thorpe park tickets!" and she smiles softly and says, "how did you know that's my favourite one?" "heh... lucky guess ig"

anyway Dave promises not to let them leave until Roxie's smiling. initially, she's kinda neutral about it and doesn't really show emotion either way but as the day goes on, she starts to love it. she cheers so loud on all the rides, she excitedly points out stuff she recognises, and Dave couldn't be more thankful. Dave also works very hard to win her a soft toy. he blows twenty quid on one game only to win one small toy, but Roxie promises she loves it

Dave makes such an effort to learn about Roxie’s culture. the first night he meets the parents, Roxie catches him reading a wiki article on Hinduism, and other tabs open with information on food, cultural practices, music, etc etc. Roxie is really touched but also get to bed Dave it’s 11pm, we’re jetlagged and you can really just ask me this stuff yourself

there's a park with a massive lake near where Roxie lives in england, that Dave and Roxie like to walk around and have a picnic near. the first time they did, Roxie brought Indian takeaway (before she learns how to cook more Indian food) and they eat it on the blanket overlooking the lake

Dave cannot stomach spicy food at first. he does his best and he really wants to try for Roxie, but he's in agony. Roxie: "how's your food, darling?" Dave: *eyes watering, nose running, throat burning, tongue on fire* "it's delicious, babe :)"

he eventually gets better at spicy food to the point he can eat most of the Indian food her parents make

Roxie however has ridiculous spice tolerance. Dave teasingly asks her “would you like food with your chilli sauce?” /reference to a Jameela Jamil interview i found somewhere on her youtube channel and i forgot where it is :(

Roxie does Not enjoy traditionally american food like corndogs. a lot of it is too deep fried for her stomach and it makes her feel a bit ill

wedding headcanons:

before proposing, Dave asked Roxie’s parents for their blessing which they GLADLY gave. in fact they kind of were surprised it took this long. get a move on boy

that was a year ago and he’s too nervous to propose because What If [insert thing that is very unlikely to happen]. Roxie’s parents message him every week asking if they’re engaged yet and when he’s gonna make his move

when Dave proposes, they’ve been hiking around a new state with really gorgeous views and all day he’s had the ring in his pocket waiting for the right moment, but it’s always interrupted by something. sitcom levels of comedic interruption. he’s about to get down on one knee and BAM a bird flies into his head

eventually, they get to a diner and have the best burgers either of them have ever had, and Dave decides he will do it right now. he has been trying to pop the question all day and he is Done waiting. he wants her so much

so Dave reaches into his pocket and, being the scatterbrain he is, realises he accidentally lost the ring, and freaks the fuck out. he excuses himself to go to the bathroom so he can hunt down the ring. after “going to the bathroom” and excusing himself five times in fifteen minutes, Roxie is like, “Dave what the fuck is going on?” and he just gets down on one knee, grabs Roxie’s hand, kisses her fingers, and says, “i lost the ring, but... Rohana Malhotra, will you marry me?” (she obviously says yes. she kneels down with him and they kiss kneeling on the diner floor)

when the camp fam find out, they’re all thrilled. they’ve been secretly shipping them since camp cretaceous (before they even started dating LMAO) and seeing them having Not Made A Move on their monthly zoom calls and occasional get–togethers was excruciating, especially watching them both almost get close to making a move to proposing only to duck out of it for months

Brooklynn tells them, “i literally died and came back to life waiting for you guys to get married smh”

they have a traditional Indian wedding

Roxie has a small mehndi party with Mae, Ronnie, and the girls from the camp fam. Brooklynn has a really cool design up her amputated arm. Roxie asked the mehndi artists to hide Dave’s initials (DM) in the mehndi designs somewhere

they have a sangeet party beforehand, but it’s not a HUGE party (Roxie does not like crowds and they wanted it to be special), just the happy couple, Roxie’s family, Dave’s sisters, the camp fam and their parents, Mae and Ronnie

during the singing and dancing on stage, there’s performances from almost everyone. you are not immune to being roped in. Roxie’s and the camp fam’s parents all reveal a set of obscure talents. the camp fam all get very competitive to see who can get the loudest cheering from whatever they all do. Roxie and Dave are crying with laughter at most of them

they do a Haldi (covering the bride and groom in turmeric), and since Dave isn’t in touch with his parents, Roxie’s mother does it for her and Roxie’s father does it for Dave

for the Baraat (procession where the groom and his family meets the bride and her family) Dave makes his own demos for the procession music

Dave wears a pale gold sherwani

Roxie wears a red and gold sari and Dave almost passes out when he first sees her because she’s so fucking beautiful

they both wear red and gold, which are traditional wedding colours BUT ALSO it’s kinda the same colour scheme as their camp counsellor outfits...

Roxie walks up the aisle and Dave is crying with joy

they have a we made it moment. they’re both crying a little with joy

the camp fam steal Dave’s shoes (afaik this is also a traditional thing to do) but doesn’t give them back when they’re supposed to. they hide them in the most ridiculous places. there’s moments of piggy in the middle where they throw his shoes right over Dave or Roxie’s heads to keep them from getting it. it’s Dave and Roxie against six people with expert hiding skills. there is no chance. Dave has to beg them for his shoes back

it’s not traditional for them to kiss, so when the ceremony is over, they just have the longest, tightest hug. it’s more intimate than a kiss for them

they don’t do massively long photo taking since it’s not a huge wedding, but Dave and Roxie do get several pictures with the camp fam. one is serious and sensible and everyone is posing nicely and the other few are absolute chaos. Dave and Roxie love it

the party is a RAGER. Dave has a ten hour playlist of the jammiest hits ever ready. Roxie’s parents are dancing with the camp fam’s parents. Dave’s sisters are chatting with Mae and Ronnie. the camp fam are causing chaos and being loud everywhere. a good song comes on and everyone is singing at top volume. Dave and Roxie party loads but they also spend some time outside, just them two, holding each other

when they’re outside, they don’t do vows, but they spend a long time just talking to each other, telling each other how much they love the other and how much they mean to them, and how excited they are to be married

they travel so much, they decide not to do a destination honeymoon. rather, they both take a week off work and spend that time doing fun things, just the two of them. Roxie makes a schedule for it, including blocking out at least an hour every day to snuggle. she has a mushy side you can’t convince me otherwise

Roxie also has a Girl Party with Mae and Ronnie. by Girl Party i mean drinking tea in a tent in the middle of the woods. orienteering and archery and axe throwing and going out to a few cool restaurants

when they’re married, Dave makes sure everyone knows. “sure, let me just call my WIFE” “i can’t come tonight, i’m having dinner with my WIFE” “my WIFE gave me this yesterday” etc etc

they’re both “that’s my HUSBAND/WIFE [proud]” and “that’s my HUSBAND/WIFE

daily life headcanons:

i headcanon they lived in england in Roxie’s apartment for a year, starting jan 2016 after the fall of isla nublar, with Dave mostly living there because he had nowhere else

but then they decided they both liked it there and Roxie really wanted to reconnect with her family and culture, so they stayed there for about two and a bit years

Dave starts thinking about reconnecting with his sisters (family shit happened) in early 2018 and they decide to move back to the states

then they get wound up in the dinosaur biz once again

in mid 2024 they move back to england when the election happens. it's not safe for women in the states and they wanted OUT of there just in case

Roxie is an early bird, so she’s always awake first, and sits outside to have a cup of tea

Dave joins her, and they eat breakfast together outside (unless they have to go to work)

Roxie likes routine, so they always go on a date every thursday evening. that’s their date night. why thursday? they just like thursday. they look like thursday people. together they are thursday people but individually Roxie is a monday and Dave is a wednesday. monday is the first day of the week and wednesday is the third and 3+1 is 4 and thursday is the fourth. bam. (i am autistic)

idk what Dave does for work, probably odd jobs cos they move around so much. he’s Okay with that

Roxie is the breadwinner with a cool, badass, sciency job. i feel like she’s rlly into genetics or something

Dave always visits Roxie on her lunch break. he’ll pick up food from a nearby bakery, or if she brought food from home, he’ll pick some flowers for her

having kids/pets headcanons:

i’m going to be Honest. i can’t see them as wanting kids. i think they’d enjoy working with kids but be happy without kids of their own

HOWEVER, they would be foster parents, with a particular focus on helping kids escaping religious abuse

in terms of pets, they adopt a dog. correction, Dave brings home a mutt he found on the street, beaming “Roxie we have a new housemate!” and Roxie is initially like, “Dave what the fuck, it's filthy, it could have rabies why would you bring it here???” she warms up to it within ten minutes

Roxie starts taking the mutt with her on runs, and before they go, Dave (if he’s awake) takes the mutt’s face with his hands and tells him to “look after her, okay bud?”
