Father Dearest Update
I’m stuck.
Hey guys, for those who have been reading my father dearest series, I have a little favor to ask. I’m having a serious case of writers block. I know how I want to series to end but I have a couple of things I need to write to build up to it. I’ve tried rereading the POA book and watching the movie but I’m still stuck.
If any of you have suggestions, please private message me.

Previously on Father Dearest:  That night you decided that it was better to stop all the pain, all at once. You climbed up the Astronomy tower stairs, having to stop every two steps to catch your breath. Finally, you made it to the top and walked over to the balcony. Upon looking down you were terrified; it was a long way down. However, you knew you had to do it; you couldn’t go on like this. Everyone you loved either hated you or thought that you hated them. There was no going back, you closed your eyes tightly and threw yourself off the balcony.
Before you could jump two strong arms grabbed you and spun you away from the balcony. You fought to get the hands away from you but the more you fought the tighter the grasp held you. “Let me go Moony,” you cried.
“Not in a million years,” he answered. “I did not raise you, your mother did not die for you, your father did not fight for you, in order for you to throw yourself off a balcony.” You wailed although you had no tears left due to dehydration, you still let out a painful cry and before you knew it you passed out.
When you came to, you were laying in a nice warm bed. “You’re awake,” Moony exclaimed as he brought in a tray of all your favorite foods. “Eat,” he commanded but you only wrinkled your nose, your appetite still nonexistent. Moony took the spoon and force fed you a couple of things, and  as he cleaned you up, he chuckled.
“What’s so  funny?”
“You just reminded me of the times I had to feed you as a child. Once you stuffed everything I gave into your mouth and then sprayed it back at my face,” he laughed fondly at the memory.
“Moony”
“Hmm”
“My dad didn’t kill Harry’s parents.”
Remus turned to face you, the facial expression that held joy a second ago was replaced by seriousness. “I am so sorry, my love.” You had opened your mouth to explain once again that your father was not capable of killing his best friend, but Moony placed a finger to your lips. “I am sorry because for thirteen years I’ve accused your father of a crime that he was incapable of committing. He loved me like his own brother and would have laid his life down for any of ours. I should have known better than to suspect him of this crime. He loved James more than anyone in the world. The evidence was just piled up against him that it blinded my eyes. However now I know who really betrayed Harry’s parents. I’m also sorry because I let you believe for years that your parents didn’t want you. The day I took you in, your mother, she walked up to my apartment in tears and gave me you. She made me promise to let you know that you were loved. She made me promise to raise you with all the luxuries that your parents would have provided for you. I was to love you as a mother and a father. I let her down, she made me promise all these as she breathed her last and I let her down.” Moony finished his monologue and faced you. Your eyes were filled with tears of joy and of sadness, you were so relieved that at least one person believed that your father was innocent. But upon hearing how guilty Moony felt you grabbed his arm and brought him into a soft, warm hug.
Once your sniffling went down, Moony forced you to drink some of his dreamless sleep potion. He claimed that for at least one night, you needed to rest without being haunted by nightmares. After you had taken the potion you laid awake for a while thinking about the events that took place this year. The year that started off on a sort of good news ended up with the man you were hopelessly in love with hating you, the people that you grew to hate for thirteen years being innocent of the crimes you accused them off, and you almost ending your life. Tears stung your eyes as you remembered all these things but before you could wallow in your lonesome Moony was by your side.
“Please don’t cry sweet child. You have cried enough for one lifetime. I promised your mother that I would never let you cry. Please don’t,” he whispered as he held you close to him.
“Can you tell me about them?” you drowsily state.
You heard Moony’s chuckle as he started telling you about your parents. “They were a troublesome duo. Your parents met during our first ride to Hogwarts. They were mischievous even then. Although back then they weren’t romantically involved. Your mother was such a great woman, kind, compassionate, as well as funny and brave. She stood for what she believed in and never once let anyone bully her into changing her view on anything. It was her third year when she found out about me being a werewolf. She held that secret close to heart, she would brew me all sorts of healing potions around the time of the full moon. Did I mention she was brilliant and beautiful? It was our fourth year that your father realized his true feelings for her. But like most teenagers they walked around their feelings for years. It was heartbreaking and nauseating at the same time. Your father was very handsome himself so you can imagine the effect he had on the girls at school. It used to drive your mum mad,” you could hear the smirk in his voice, “She once went after a girl who slipped a love potion into sirius’s cup with a bat. We caught her before she was able to hurt the girl, by the way. Then, our sixth year rolled around and it was as if everything changed. Sirius and your mother finally confessed their feelings for one another, Lily and James decided to give it a try. The darkness around us was brewing and perhaps because of that we all grew up fast. By the end of the seventh year James proposed to Lilly and Sirius proposed to your mum. We had a double wedding within weeks of graduation. And then a year or so later we were blessed with a god daughter, and god son.
Hearing the happy stories of your parents and their friends, for the first time in months, you went to sleep with a smile on your face.
 ---------------------------------------------
“I told him,” Hermione said casually.
“You did what?” you almost screamed making Hermione jump a bit.
“I had to”
“’Mione the whole reason I told you was so that you’d stop bothering me, and you promised to keep it a secret,” you whisper yelled at her. You both were talking behind a hidden passageway, one that you were sure the boys knew nothing off. You started to notice that every time Hermione was cordial with you in public, the boys (mainly Harry) would be cold towards her. This, of course, lead to you insisting that you meet away from prying eyes. Hermione had laughed at the idea, saying that we are not lovers to meet in secret but at your insistence she caved.
“He needed to realize the impact his actions had on you,” she firmly said, and then took your hands in hers. “For Godric’s sake (Y/N/N), his words and actions made you want to end your life.” A tear had fallen from her eyes as she said this, it terrified her to even think about that night. To think about what would have happened if Lupin hadn’t gotten there on time.
“What did he say?” you asked letting curiosity get the better of you.
Hermione let out a deep breath, you almost told her to not say anything to you, not wanting to hear the cruel words you were sure Harry had said. “Honestly, he didn’t say anything. He stayed silent for a long time, so long that I thought someone had cast a Body Binding curse on him. Then, he just got up and left for his dormitory. Ron told me the next day that he hadn’t slept the whole night. Ron was sure he was crying, said he heard him sniffle all night. In the morning Harry said he wanted to find you and apologize. But since you don’t seem to ever be in the common room, and you appear and disappear so quickly during class times, he hasn’t gotten the chance.”
Hermione eyed your expressions; you were taken aback that Harry wanted to apologize. You were also kind of ashamed that you thought so lowly of him. “Well ‘Mione, if he really wanted to apologize, he would have found a way to get to me,” you responded.
“(Y/N/N) he stayed up all night two days ago hoping to see you sneak into the common room after everyone left. He didn’t believe me when I said that you haven’t slept in our dorm in weeks,” Hermione stated with a bit of curiosity hidden in her tone. Much to her disappointment you refused to answer the question that was hanging in the air, and reluctantly Hermione left to go to the Gryffindor Tower.
After the incident at the tower Moony didn’t want you out of his sight. And frankly speaking you didn’t want to be near the students either. Moony had someone (house elves) fetch your essentials from the girls dormitory and you moved into his quarters. You ate, slept and studied in there. You would go outside of that sanctuary only for classes and your daily visits to Hagrid and Blackie.
Ah, yes, poor Blackie. You felt bad because now that you moved into Remus’s room, your nightly cuddles with the beautiful dog stopped. Not only that, Blackie was subjected to listening to all of your feelings. You had tearfully mentioned to him about your field trip to the Astronomy Tower balcony, and he was crying in pain as well. That entire day he followed you around, granted you were walking around the edge of the forest, but still he refused to leave your side until it was time for you to eat dinner.
--------------------------------
The visits to Hagrid’s hut were quiet depressing. He tried to be in good spirits but with Buckbeak’s sentencing and his professor job not going as greatly as he had hoped his mood was flat almost all the time now.
“Hagrid, why don’t you sit?” you asked the friendly giant of a man. He was bustling around his hut, trying to seem busy so that you weren’t able to see his tears.
“Nah (Y/N/N), I got to make ‘ou a cuppa tea,” he muttered out, trying to speak in a low voice so you wouldn’t detect his voice breaking due to pain.
“No, Rubeus Hagrid, I am commanding you to sit down,” you forcefully state as you pull at him. Your force was no match to the half- giant, you knew that but Hagrid obliged anyways. “Now you sit, and I’m going to make you a cuppa tea.” You got to work on the tea, and at first it was a bit hard, Hagrid’s pots and pans were made for him, it was quite heavy for a normal human to pick up. But soon you had a nice cup of tea poured out for him, and as he was enjoying that you whisked your wand and cleaned around his hut.
“Ya know I coudda done ‘hat,” Hagrid protested.
“Ah, you see Hagrid that’s the beauty of having people care for you,” you sass “they do things for you, even though you are very well capable of doing them yourself, because they like you.”
Hagrid smiled and looked at you for a minute. “You’r so much like your mother.”
His eyes and yours widened at this statement. “I shouldn’t said ‘hat. I should not have said ‘hat,” he fussed.
“It’s okay Hagrid,” you reassured him. “I know about my parents.”
“You do?”
“Yeah, I found out that day at Hogsmeade. And just so you know, no matter what you believe, my father did not betray the Potters. He could never,” you tearfully state and before Hagrid could say anything you ran out of his hut.
“ (Y/N/N), wait,” you heard a voice call from behind you. Though the owner of that voice hasn’t spoken to you in months, it was still one that you would recognize anywhere. Hearing his voice only made your steps increase in speed, you were upset and crying, you were vulnerable, and this was not a form you wanted him to see you in. “(Y/N/N) please,” you heard the desperation in his voice as he was closing in on you. You felt silly, running away from him like this, when you spent weeks and months hoping this would happen.
“Please,” Harry stated as his hand grabbed hold of your wrist and brought you to his chest. He held you there for a minute, tears coming from his eyes, and yours. The scent of vanilla and pine cones filled your senses, once again filling you with the calmness you desperately needed. But the calmness left you as the events of the past months flooded your vision. You ripped yourself out of his grasp. Tears of anger and hurt flowed freely.
“What do you want Harry? What do you want now? You think that an apology is going to make everything better? You cut me out of your life, isolated me and made me feel like I was nothing to you. You were hurt, I get that, Merlin’s beard do I get that. I know you better than I know myself, and for a second I let myself think that you knew me better than anyone else. But that’s not true, I hurt for months, for months, I was crying out in excruciating pain and you did nothing. In fact, you did a little more than nothing, you added to the pain. I’m not blaming you for my decision to end my life, that was a spur of the moment, dumb decision that I made. But Harry, hearing you say that I would kill you, sent me over the edge. You know that I would gladly take the killing curse for you, jump in front of anything harming you, but then you still said those words. What was I supposed to do? How was I supposed to feel?”
You fell to the ground as your monologue left you exhausted, and you sobbed into your hands. Harry, who was dumbfounded at your outburst, fell next to you. He cautiously held you, thinking that maybe you’d not want him to touch you. But when you didn’t move away, he held onto you tighter as he sobbed alongside you. After what seemed to be eons, he cupped your face with his hands and made you face him. “I’m so so sorry. I was hurt and instead of facing my sadness and reality I decided to punish you for something you had no control over. I am so sorry. I never meant any of the words I said and now more than ever I feel like an idiot. I can’t even imagine what would have happened if Lupin hadn’t been there that night. And to think it was from what I said, from the way I’ve been treating you. You tried so hard to talk to me, to reach out. You’ve always been there for me and  the one time you needed me I just left you, added to your pain. I’m sorry (Y/N/N) and I know that my words can never make up for how I made you feel. If you want to never speak to me again or hit me or jinx me I understand.”
You sobbed into his chest. You both knew that Harry Potter could do the worst things imaginable and still have the place in your heart reserved for him intact. His apology is all you needed. It was all you were craving, his attention, his touch, his support, and reassurance. It’s all you needed to feel like yourself again.
“If you ever hurt me again Harry Potter, I will jinx you into another dimension,” you sniffle out.
“Never again,” he promised in tears. He brought your face closer to his and without waiting brought your lips to  connect with his. You imagined your first kiss to be firework filled, but it was a different feeling. You were filled with warmth but also safety. You felt safe even though you were standing by the forbidden forest in the middle of the night. With Harry’s arms wrapped around you and his lips on yours, you felt the safest you’ve ever felt in your life.

You had hoped that Harry would come to the realization that you were only a baby when his parents were killed. And that at the same time he lost his parents you lost yours as well, but you were disappointed. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, Harry still wouldn’t even look at you. You came racing into the Hospital Wing after he had his injury during the match but when he opened his eyes, he purposely pretended you were not there. Hermione, bless her heart, tried to get Harry and you together but since the whole Firebolt incident she was alienated from the boys as well. Not that you were happy with her either on that, how dare she think that your father would do such a cruel thing. You wanted to scream to everyone that your father was not a monster!!
When you first realized that Harry wasn’t going to come to his senses by himself you had tried. You tried to get him to understand that your entire life you thought your parents abandoned you. It was a fact that Harry already knew, but for some reason, he decided to overlook it. You also tried to get him to understand how your dad wasn’t the one that betrayed his parents. You tried to get him to understand that your dad betraying James and Lily made just as much sense as you letting anything bad happen to Harry. But he turned a deaf ear to all your explanation, he wouldn’t even look at you, it was as if your mere existence made him sick. He would leave the common room as soon as you entered it, he asked Snape to switch potion partners, he wouldn’t even have a meal in the Great Hall if you were there. One day you tried to sit next to him, quietly not bothering anyone. Harry slammed his hands on the table and stormed out. The entire Great Hall had their eyes fixed to you, some with pity, others with concern, and even some with amusement.
After that incident, you stopped eating for days at a time, not that anyone noticed. It was as if the entire school found out about your lineage; no one would talk to you. Aside from the occasional hellos, Hermione and the professors were the only people you ever held a conversation with. Hagrid, of course, was a relief as well, but you felt the pity come off of him whenever you went over to his hut and it was a bit much.
You hadn’t spoken a word to Remus since that day. You weren’t angry with him, Remus knew this, Remus knew this well. He also knew that what you needed right now was space. He worried when he noticed the dark circles underneath your eyes but somehow you were still able to get top marks so he couldn’t find a reason to talk to you. Sometimes when he noticed that you hadn’t been eating, he would tell Hermione to force-feed you, which she did. Remus had to reveal that you were his adopted daughter to Hermione after she started asking questions of how Remus seemed to be the only professor that noticed these changes in you. She was of course more than happy to keep it a secret.
Through it all Blackie had been your solace. You would go into the forest every day, pockets full of food, and talk to him hours on end. He always reminded you of a human, whereas other dogs you’ve interacted with couldn’t sit still for a moment, Blackie would sit and listen to you for hours. You would comb out his mane and clean him up, something he always seemed to enjoy. Eventually, you even sneaked him into your dorm and let him sleep with you. Somehow, every morning you would wake up to an empty bed.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, there was an attack that occurred in the middle of the night. Sirius Black entered Hogwarts; your dad got as far as the Gryffindor Common Room. Harry’s eyes were following you; you could tell that he thought you were the one that opened the door for your dad but you were just as surprised as everyone else. Although whereas others were surprised in fear, you were surprised in joy. That incident brought Hermione and the boys back together and you were once again utterly by yourself. The isolation and the hateful looks Harry gave you was starting to get to you. It didn’t help that Malfoy, upon seeing the rift between you two would constantly bully you. You were too tired to fight back and often times just let him lull on about how you didn’t have parents and about the incident with the boggart.
“Harry come on now,” you heard Hermione’s voice pleading as you were on your way to the common room from you DADA class.
“Hermione no,” you heard Harry. “Her father killed my parents. She’s the same blood, what’s stopping her from killing me?”
That was the last straw. The boy that once said that he trusted you with his life was now saying that he thought you were capable of taking that life. Harry’s words rang through your ear and for the next week you locked yourself in a broom closet no one was able to locate and refused to come out. You would show up for one or two of the classes every other day so most of your teachers didn’t suspect anything. You lost your appetite and cried yourself to sleep until one day you had run out of tears. That night you decided that it was better to stop all the pain, all at once.

Tumblr media
Previously on Father Dearest: “”Metra, my dear,” Fudge interrupted, “The lass has no idea that her mother was Estella (Y/L/N) and that her father is Sirius Black.”
 Now:
“Bloody hell,” Rosmerta said at this new revelation. “I always thought that she knew but kept it secret from everyone. So, who’s been taking care of her and what have they been telling her?”
“Remus Lupin took her in after Estella’s death,” Fudge explained on, “That woman tried like hell to prove that Black was innocent, and Black tried like hell to keep that child. Lupin of course kept everything from her, he’s been telling her that he found her abandoned.” At those words there was movement from your side, you could tell Harry left throwing your hand away from his. Your feet wanted to follow him but the words that were being spoken made you feel sick.
It was as if Fudge’s words were the key that you were waiting for all these years, because as he uttered those words a gate inside your mind opened up, and you suddenly remembered your mother’s voice and your father’s warmth. The teary eyes of joy that looked at you, the first time you uttered something close to ‘Daddy’. James and your dad agreeing to their children getting married someday. The night you had your first fever. And of course, the night of crying and yelling, your mother fighting as arms held her back, your father holding you and kissing you goodbye as men ripped you out of his hands. Tears freely fell from your eyes, and you left the room albeit not as smoothly as you had entered.
“He was their friend!” you heard Harry yelling as you frantically tried to find him and explain that your father did nothing wrong. “She’s his daughter,” he stated in utter disgust as he looked over Hermione’s shoulder where you were standing, the invisibility charm worn off. Hermione and Ron both looked at you in surprise, although ‘Mione looked a bit more sympathetically at your current state. You couldn’t pry your eyes away from the look that Harry was giving you. The eyes that were always kind towards you now held nothing but hatred.
You don’t know how but you made your way into the castle, with each step you took the sadness got replaced by pure white-hot anger. “How could you?” you screamed slamming open the DADA classroom with such force that even you were surprised that the doors didn’t come off its hinges.
“Excuse me?” Lupin responded startled that the child he raised looked to be in the most distress he had ever seen her in.
“You knew all this time about my parents. You knew about them and you didn’t tell me,” you cried. The look on his face told you everything you needed to know. “How could you be so cruel Lupin? This entire time you made me feel as though I was alone, as though no one wanted me. You know how that affected me? For the past 13 years you made me think that no one wanted me. I hated them, you know that? I hated my parents because I thought they dumped me in an alleyway without a care in the world. I thought my mother abandoned me and that my father never fought for me. When the reality was that my mother gave her life for me and my father fought through heaven and hell for me.” You couldn’t go on any further with the outburst. You were too hurt, too angry and if you kept going you were bound to say something that you would regret.
You did the one thing that made sense to you. You ran. You ran from the hate. You ran from the look Harry gave you. You ran from Lupin. You ran. Your feet seemed to have a mind all its own and you ended up in the forbidden forest. Under any other circumstance, you would have been scared of being in the forest while it was starting to get dark but now all you could focus on was your heart becoming heavier and heavier. Your head felt like it was going to burst open because of all the crying you did. You felt like you should have been crying more, but you felt numb. You didn’t realize that it had started raining until you were soaked. Heartbroken, betrayed, alone, and now cold you called out for the one person you wanted to see more than anyone. The one person you wanted to be held by, the one person alive you owed an apology to. “Daddy.” After you said it once the name came out of your mouth like a mantra. “Daddy,” you cried out with what little energy you had left, not caring what other creatures might have heard you. Suddenly the pricking sensation that followed you all summer long was back, and this time you felt a presence from behind. However, being too tired to turn around you defeated let out “If you’re going to kill me do it already.”
When you were met with silence you got up the energy to take a peek at whatever was lurking behind you. What you expected to be angry centaurs turned out to be a beautiful black dog looking at you pitifully. It was almost as if it had human emotions as if it felt your pain and came to ease it. “Hi there,” you carefully stated, extending your hand out and waited for it to come to you. Almost at once, the dog ran towards you, and desperately needing a hug you held on to it. You felt rather pathetic holding onto a dog and crying in the middle of the forbidden forest. After some time and loads of licks, your tears dwindled to sniffles and you finally cracked a smile.
“You know today was supposed to be a normal day,” you started, not sure why but you felt the need to explain yourself to the dog, “I found out today that the people I had been hating for the past 13 years had not abandoned me,” at the quizzical look the dog gave you, you further explained. “You see, um, well I can’t just be calling you ‘dog’. Blackie. How about that? After you black mane?” Blackie barked in response as if to say ‘Yes.’
“Well, Blackie, I was raised by a man who is not my biological father. He told me that he found me in an alleyway 13 years ago, completely abandoned. So, for the past 13 years, I hated the man and woman that gave birth to me thinking that they didn’t want me. Thinking that it was easy for them to just abandon me. And today I found out that it was all a lie, that I’ve been living a lie. Blackie, after I found out who my dad and mom were, it was like all the memories of theirs I had come back to me. I remember how my dad cried the first time I said ‘Daddy’, and how he cried when he kissed me goodbye. I remembered how my mom loved to hold me and sing to me. I remembered how heartbroken she was when my dad was sentenced to life in Azkaban, how she held me, cried, and let out her final breath.” You didn’t realize it then but saying out loud the events of the day brought some clarity to you. “All I want to do right now is see my dad and say that I’m sorry.” Though you knew that he couldn’t help you locate your dad, telling Blackie about how you felt and what you wanted to do made you feel like a weight was off your shoulder.
“Thanks Blackie,” you whispered as you gave the dog another hug. “I only have human food, you look like you haven’t eaten,” you say as you thoroughly inspect your new friend. His fur was tangled and he looked like he hadn’t eaten in days. You carefully take out the sweets you had brought for Harry, knowing full well that he may not even want to be in the same room as you right now, and handed them to Blackie. Blackie walked with you out of the forest and did not leave your side until you entered the castle. You gave him a final hug and told him to have fun with the food and that you would find him soon and give him some more. He barked and turned toward the forest, you watched on until you could no longer see him.

Secrets- Part 5  END
Fandom: Harry Potter: Marauders Era
Pairing: Remus x Reader
Warnings: Angst but nothing major, major revelation
Summary: Remus and you have been dancing around the fact that you are both in love with the other. As a new year starts, Remus is determined to tell you about his secret as well as his feelings for you. However, something is off about you, you are keeping a secret that he does not know. A secret that could destroy everything they have.
A/N: Thank You so much for supporting this series. It truly started off as a two part fic that grew because of all the love and support you guys gave me. Thanks once again!
Tumblr media
Remus was worried but he was also irritated. Because the full moon was approaching he was irritated with everything, he almost hexed a Ravenclaw for coughing too loud in class. However, he was also very worried, (Y/N) had been acting very strange. Granted you’ve been acting off ever since the start of the term, but this was different. Your parents visiting put you in a good mood for a bit but that soon started to wear off. You were just as irritated as Remus was but you were also very sad. Remus could tell something was bothering you but because of his own problem he couldn’t help you. Sirius had made a comment the other day about how he hasn’t seen you eat a meal in over a week. That comment made him think back to all of the meals, and indeed you were missing from most of them. During the meals you were present he noticed you were just moving the food in your plate around to make it look like you had eaten.
Remus worried that maybe something was wrong with your parents. Maybe your mother was sick, maybe someone else was sick, a thousand possible problems went through his mind but he decided to solve the one problem he could.
“Ow!” you stated as a paper airplane made contact with the back of your head. You were on your way to meet with Slughorn and get the potion. You picked up the paper and tried to look around to see who had sent it, seeing no one you opened it. “Meet me in our usual spot.- R.L” You smiled and sprinted to Slughorn’s office to get the potion, and after making sure the potion was safe you made your way to the empty classroom that was Remus’s and yours. Upon arrival you were met with the sweet aroma of food.
“Hello love,” Remus stated as he welcomed you into the class that was filled with different foods. “I noticed that you haven’t been eating properly for a week now and I’ve also noticed that you’re sad. I requested the house elves to make some of your favorite dishes and they were more than happy to oblige.” You could have kissed the boy right then, but you held yourself back knowing that it was cruel to just let his feelings for you grow while you knew for sure that it wouldn’t blossom into anything.
“Thank you Ray,” you meekly stated, tired from all the extra worrying, anger, and crying you’ve been doing lately. “You really shouldn’t have, I’m not hungry.”
You tried to walk out of the room but Remus grabbed you by the elbow and pushed you into him. “Nuh-ah, you are not getting out of this room without eating a proper meal,” he commanded and pulled you all the way to chairs. He spoon fed you bits from all of your favorite meals and somehow hoodwinked you into eating an entire meal. “I don’t know why you’ve been sad and distracted lately, but love just know that I’ll always be here for you,” Remus stated seriously. It was too much, the worrying over keeping everything a secret, worrying about what would happen if someone found out, and worrying about leaving without a trace in case your secret was out. It was all too much and you ran out of the room with tears in your eyes.
You ran all the way to the Astronomy Tower, finding a quiet nook you let the tears roll silently as you watched the night sky.
“It’s such a beautiful night isn’t it,” Sirius said as you shrieked in surprise. “Relax woman, it’s just me,” he laughed and threw an arm around your shaking body.
“Remus told you?” you asked.
“Yeah, that and I’ve been wanting to talk to you,” he admitted.
“I don’t want to talk about anything.”
“Okay, then we’ll stay here and look at the stars,” Sirius stated, he was not going to leave you to cry your eyes out alone, no matter how much you forced him to.
“If I tell you something will you keep it a secret?” you asked not able to bear this secret to yourself anymore.
“I will take your secret with me to the grave,” he assured you.
“Something happened over the summer, Siri. Something horrible happened to me,” you paused taking a deep breath in before continuing. “I got attacked by Fenrir Greyback. He bit me Sirius.”
Sirius didn’t know how to react, he couldn’t even blink. His poor sister has been suffering through this plight all alone. “You’re a werewolf?” he asked to confirm the conclusion he had made from your story. You only managed to nod, keeping your head down, not having the courage to look at Sirius’s face. He tightened his hold on you “Oh my love,” was all Sirius could say. He held you, reassured you that he will always be by your side, and that nothing has changed between you two.
After you had calmed, he dared to ask you, “Have you told Remus about this?” Your face was all the answer he needed. “I won’t tell him love, but I really think you should. It’ll only help.”
“No it won’t Siri. If I tell him about this maybe just maybe he might stick by my side but all the feelings he has for me will fade away. He’ll go from liking me to just tolerating me. My heart can’t handle that,” you explained as you both made your way to the Gryffindor Common Room. After Sirius made sure you returned to your dormitory he opted to take a walk. He knew that Remus would be worried and irritated, waiting up to make sure that you were okay.
Sirius didn’t know what to do, he couldn’t tell you that Remus would be the only person in this entire planet that would understand what you were going through and that he would only love you more, because of the promise Sirius made with Remus. And he couldn’t tell Remus about your problem putting Remus’s worries to rest because of Sirius’s promise to you. “Listen I haven’t asked you for much but can you help me out?” he screamed in frustration at the skies hoping some higher authority would interfere with his friends love life.
Not much happened after that incident, Remus seemed to avoid you, and you, him leading to the marauders being in a weird position. Remus avoided you because he couldn’t help but think that he pushed you too much and caused you pain. You avoided him because after the conversation with Sirius all you wanted to do was explain to Remus about your condition. It was like every time he was near you couldn’t help but try and spill the truth to him.
All too soon the dreaded day came, the full moon was tonight. You had prepared yourself, making up a lie that you were going to visit your mother and father for a couple of days, you disappeared from your dormitory. You tapped on the Whomping Willow, like Professor McGonagall had instructed and found a room to get comfortable in. As the sunset you drank your potion and tearfully waited for the horrible sensation to take over. It was at that moment the door to your room opened and to your horror Remus John Lupin stood facing you with wide eyes.
“ (Y/N)?” he questioned, “what are you doing here?”
He looked like he was struggling to keep his facial expressions neutral but you knew him well enough to know that he was in pain. “Remus? What are you doing here?” you asked as you felt the pain start for you. Your mind started to go a kilometer a minute, you had to get him out of here before you turned or his life would be in danger. You noticed that a dog, a stag and a rat was peeking into the room as well but before you could question it another wave of pain shot through you.
“ (Y/N), you can’t be in here. Not right now,” he replied, tears forming in his eyes. He had to hold on the walls because of his pain, and you wanted nothing more than to soothe him.
“No Remus you can’t be here. Not at this time, it’s too dangerous for you,” you exclaimed worriedly that you might hurt the love of your life.
“No (Y/N/N), please you can’t be here. I don’t want you to get hurt,” Remus responded. You knew that you had to reveal the truth to him, any other words would not get Remus to realize the seriousness and dangers of the situation.
“Remus this is serious. In a couple of minutes, I’ll transform into a werewolf. And once that happens I’ll have no control over anything that happens. I might hurt you. Please, Ray, I can’t handle the thought of hurting you,” you explain defeated. You knew to tell him everything ruined any and every chance of a relationship between the both of you. But you didn’t care, Remus being safe and sound was more important to you than having a relationship with him. You got up the courage to take a peek at him, the eyes which you expected to spew hate and hurt showed something else, care, compassion, and love? What was going on? You were sure Remus would have run for the hills by now, after hearing your confession yet here he was, standing rooted in his spot with his gaze transfixed on you. He walked over to you, wincing in pain every once in a while, and towered over you. Before you knew what was happening Remus’s lips were attached to yours. The kiss was filled with passion and love but before you could say anything the wolf took over. Panic came over you as the last thing you saw was his kind brown eyes.
Pain was all you felt when you came too. Pain, and moments later cold. What on earth happened? And that’s when it all came flooding back. The Full Moon. The Potion. The Confessions. The Kiss.
“Remus,” you breathed as. Your voice was hoarse and quiet but he still managed to hear it.
“I’m here my Love,” he replied.
“What happened?” you asked as more and more of your memories came back.
“Before you say anything, know this, I will always be here for you,” he stated coming over to your bed. He has several bandages strewn across his body and you looked away with tears filled eyes thinking that you had hurt the love of your life. Remus was quick to notice this and brought your face towards him. “Had I just gotten up the courage to tell you this before, none of this would have happened,” at your puzzled look he chuckled and continued on, “ (Y/N), I am a werewolf. I was bitten by Fenrir Greyback when I was a child. I’ve been suffering from it even before I came to Hogwarts. The Whomping Willow was planted just for me. I isolated myself from even my friends thinking that no one would accept me, but soon my friends found out. When they did all they did was support me and even turned into animagi for me. I don’t ever want you to feel like you are alone, I will be with you always. The next thing I want to clear up is that (Y/N) I am hopelessly in love with you. I don’t think it is at all a surprise to you seeing as how you are very intelligent you would have figured it out by now but I only thought it proper for me to come out and say it. If you would give me a chance and allow me to make you my girlfriend I would be the happiest bloke in the world.”
His confession had you in tears, and without a second thought you threw yourself into his arms. He winced in pain but welcomed the action, “I’ll take that as a yes?” he chuckled.
“No,” you responded, getting out of his grasp but before he could say anything you grabbed his face and kissed him with the same amount of passion and love that was present the night of the full moon. “You can take that as a yes,” you smirked as he broke the kiss for air.
“Alright you two, get a room,” Sirius and the other marauders interrupted you. and proceeded to bring you the chocolates and treats they sneaked fresh from Hogsmeade to you. After a couple of minutes of silent eating it finally hit you.
“That’s what those stupid pet names stood for!” You screamed making all the boys jump.
“Bleeding hell, women you are going to give me a heart attack,” Sirius jokingly held onto his heart.
“Shush,” you waved him off. “You're the stag, Prongs. You’re the rat, Wormtail. You’re the dog, Padfoot.” You laughed finally figuring out the meaning behind the names.
“Well done. You’ve found yourself a keeper Moony,” James exclaimed laughing. “By the way, it goes without saying that none of us will ever tell another soul of your secret.”
As you sat there sharing treats with your friends and you now boyfriend, you were starting to feel hopeful again. The year that you thought would be your worst was turning out to be your best year yet.

Secrets- Part 4

Summary: Remus and you have been dancing around the fact that you are both in love with the other. As a new year starts, Remus is determined to tell you about his secret as well as his feelings for you. However, something is off about you, you are keeping a secret that he does not know. The next few weeks went by in a blur. Between getting accustomed to your new schedule and getting back into the rhythm of assignments and exams, the days flew by. Before you knew it, the first Hogsmeade trip was upon you. The boys were all excited, they had already done a small rendezvous to Hogsmeade via the invisibility cloak. But their supply was running low and there was a list of pranks they wanted to try out.
You were currently sitting in your herbology class trying to remember how to properly fertilize the stinksap in front of you. Gryffindors had this class with Hufflepuffs and you were supposed to be paired up with Amos Diggory. Supposed to being the operative word. Somehow Sprout managed to put Sirius and James together which led to them interrupting you every 30 seconds with annoying questions. You were irritated at first, this is your last class till the weekend and you wanted to be done already, but after a while even you started to laugh along to their ridiculous questions.
“I’m really sorry about them,” you apologized to Amos for the third time.
Diggory offered a kind smile and said, “It’s alright. I think it’s wonderful that you help your friends out so much.”
Diggory was a hard nut to crack. There were times where he would constantly go on about how great he is and other times where he would be the joyful hufflepuff you’d expect. But of all the times you’ve dealt with him, you’ve never seen him behave this way. Usually Diggory would have blown up after the third time Sirius and James interrupted you. He would’ve gone on about how brawn means nothing without brains to accompany it. But he remained still, silent and patient though there were times where you noticed his grip tighten around his wand.
As the class was dismissed, thoughts of Diggory’s behavior dissipated from your mind. You hurried to put your books in your satchel and get out the door to the freedom of the weekend.
“Ahem” you heard someone clear their throat from behind you and turned to see who it was.
“Oh hey Diggory. Did you forget something?” You questioned the boy.
“No,” he stated. You could tell he was trying to seem cool and tough but the shaking hands and nervous sweat didn’t help his cause. “I wanted to ask you something,” he said.
After a rather unnecessary pause you raised your eyebrows, prompting him to talk again. “Oh, er-I was wondering if you’d like to go to Hogsmeade with-“ his words died in his mouth. He stood still so much that you were afraid someone had done a full body bind curse on him.
“Diggory? Are you alright?” You quizzically approached him to try and shake him out of his stupor.
“Oh, I just remembered, I have to track down Abbot. She’s been eyeing me for a while, I’m going to go ask her to Hogsmeade,” he spluttered out and ran out, tripping on air as he did so.
Thinking that Diggory was beyond odd you turned around to see four boys trying to act inconspicuous, and failing. Remus was looking into his satchel, James and Sirius were checking out the ceiling of the greenhouse and Peter was sniffing the stinksap. “What did you do?” you smirk somewhat knowing the answer yourself.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” Sirius answered, matching the smirk on your face with one of his own. “Do you know what she’s talking about Moony?”
“No, Padfoot I haven’t a clue,” Remus responded while walking towards you.
“Have you got anything to say Peter?” you asked, glaring at him. You knew that it was mean to terrorize the poor boy but he was the weakest link of the four and spilled information easily.
“Nope,” he stated standing his ground. Knowing that you weren’t going to get a satisfying answer from any of them, you shook your head and started your ascend to the common room with the four in tow
The much awaited first Hogsmeade trip of the year was upon you. As per usual the boys dragged you with them into Zonko’s where they picked out ammo for their next prank war. You monitored them closely making sure that they weren’t picking up any illegal items. After that you lost Remus to Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, he had some sort of obsession with finding the right quill. You ventured out on your own for a bit, browsing here and there when you saw Diggory leaving Honeydukes. He had quite a handful of candy and was trying his best to balance it all. “No,” he gasped as a chocolate frog fell from his grasp, but you quickly caught it for him and returned it to his pile. “Thank You,” he stated rather shyly once he realized who had helped him out.
“So where’s Abbot?” you asked him curiously.
“Oh, um, she’s over there frolicking with her friends. I told her that I’d get some sweets for us to share,” he explained while walking towards his date.
“Well, don’t let me keep you then,” you responded, turning back to find your friends.
“Hey (Y/N),” Diggory called back “What I wanted to do yesterday was ask you out to Hogsmeade. Your friends kind of scared me that I had to come up with something else. I’m sorry if it came out rude.” He smiled at you and before you could say anything ran back to Abbot.
“What did he want?” Sirius stated as you felt an arm snake around your shoulder.
“To tell me that he wasn’t trying to be rude yesterday. That certain friends of mine scared him that he had to come up with an excuse,” you say as you elbow Sirius hard.
“Aye,” Sirius reeled back in fake pain but put his hands up in surrender all the same. “I have a duty as your big brother to protect you and scare off boys like him.” Chuckling at the statement you were about to retort with a cheeky comment of your own when something caught your eye.
“Estella?” you questioned as your mother and father came into view.
“What’s your mum and dad doing here (Y/N/N)?” James stated as Remus, Peter and him joined you guys.
“I have no idea. But I’ll see you lot later,” you bid them goodbye and ran towards your parents who were still unaware of your presence.
“Estella, dad what are you doing here?”
“ (Y/N/N), love,” your father was the first to hug you , then your mother. “Come, we’ve rented a house out for the week.” They led you to a cozy cottage, fed you and kept you comfortable. Though they explained to you that the reason they were at Hogsmeade was because they wanted a vacation, you knew the real reason. You were a little angry with them, this problem you had wasn’t going to go away and you couldn’t expect your parents to come running every time you had it tough. You needed to learn to fight this problem on your own, however you couldn’t deny that you had been wanting to be with them more than ever. You stayed with them for the remainder of the weekend and after many hours of convincing they left for home as you left for the castle.

Father Dearest Part 4
Fandom: Harry Potter: Golden Trio Era Pairing: Harry Potter x reader Summary: Your third year at Hogwarts is about to start and with it come a lot of new changes. Harry, your best friend and crush, is in trouble from some man named Sirius Black. You try desperately to keep Harry safe but what happens when you find out some heartbreaking, mind shattering information about your father? Warnings: angst, long writing lol! A/N: Enjoy! Please like and reblog if you like it!!
Tumblr media
“Did you hear about what happened to (Y/L/N) during DADA?”
“Oh my god, do you think that she is being abused at home?”
“I knew it, I knew that there was something off about her.”
These were the whispers that followed you around for the rest of the week. Harry, Ron and Hermione would throw a dirty look at anyone that even dared to look at you wrong and maybe due to that, and the fact that other more threatening news was flooding Hogwarts, the incident that occurred in the DADA class was forgotten from almost everyone’s mind.
The only thing you had been looking forward to after Moony’s class was Hagrid’s first lesson. Looking forward to it seems to be too happy a phrase to use. You had heard from Fred and George who already had their Care for Magical Creatures class that Hagrid had them caring for some crazy dangerous creatures. In fact, most of the castle was muttering about Hagrid’s lessons and you were apprehensive of what monstrous creature Hagrid would introduce to your lot. To make matters worse the Gryffindors were paired with the Slytherins for Magical Creatures. After the encounter in Lupin’s class Malfoy had been a bit more reserved in talking back in class but you were sure his tongue was going to wag in Hagrid’s class. As you made your way down to Hagrid’s hut you found that the Slytherin Prince was already there, barking all sorts of rubbish that is puny crew was lapping up. Pansy Parkinson, a toad of a girl, was hanging on every word that drew from his lips.
“Wait till my father hears about this, that Dumbledore’s got this oaf teaching class. Honestly this whole school is going to hell,” he stated disgustingly as Hagrid was fixing something up in his garden. Harry who heard the remark turned around fuming, you had to grip his arm and hold him back before he launched himself a Malfoy.
“What is it Potter? Got something to say?” he taunted Harry.
“Last I checked your father was sacked from being a governor of Hogwarts after threatening the other governors. So, having your now unemployed father hear about the news of Hagrid’s post doesn’t really carry that much weight,” you recounted as the gryffindors sniggered and Malfoy turned red. You knew that the Malfoy’s were rich beyond measure and that his father technically didn’t need a  job to survive, however it still managed to bruise Malfoy’s ego.
“At least I have a father, what was it that the boggart said? Right, ‘You’re scum, and I never wanted you’,” Malfoy stated smirking at the effect those words had on you. You froze up beside Harry, and Harry seizing the chance of you letting go of his arm grabbed his wand and threw a spell at Malfoy.
Malfoy was about to retaliate when Hagrid came walking towards you booming, “What’s goin on ‘ere? You lot be’er not be causin’ ‘rouble ‘his early in.” Hagrid lead you into a clearing at the edge of the forest and went on to explain what the lesson was for today.
You who had been beaming at him to show your support felt a pricking sensation in the back of your head. It was a sensation you had grown accustomed to over the past summer, a feeling of being watched. You didn’t know what it was but the past summer when you were taking your nighttime walks or when you were running errands for Remus on the weeks of the full moon you would feel this weird sensation. Nothing ever came of it, you would turn around constantly, checking your surroundings yet you would find nothing, no one was watching you. You didn’t want to alarm Remus, who (you were sure) would lock you up in the house all summer had you disclosed this information to him.
The feeling stopped the last few weeks of summer vacation, you were sure that due to all the excitement and busyness of packing up for Hogwarts you mind simply didn’t have time to make you feel uneasy. However, the feeling was back, you instinctively turned around, you were met with nothing but trees and shrubs. There was a slight rustling of a shrub but just then a sudden breeze had started from nowhere and you heard Harry scream. When you turned your attention back to the class you saw Harry riding on a Hippogriff. Had Harry not looked like he was going to vomit, the site would have been majestic. You knew all about the hippogriffs having stumbled across an old Care for Magical Creatures textbook of Moony’s. You were slightly jealous that Harry got to ride one, and even more impressed at Hagrid for not showing a dangerous creature. Sure, the Hippogriffs may look intimidating, and yes they can cause serious harm but that’s only if you were daft enough to disrespect them.
As Harry touched down, you along with the rest of the Gryffindors cheered. Harry was placed back onto the ground by Hagrid and you were about to get his attention to ask for a ride yourself when Malfoy pushed you out of the way. Thankfully, Dean was able to catch you before you met the floor. “Yeah, you’re not scary at all are you, you big chicken,” you heard Malfoy confidently strut to the Hippogriff. Before any of you could stop it, Malfoy was attacked, and Hagrid was fussing over him saying that Malfoy would be fine. It took ‘Mione and you to scream that Malfoy needs to go to the hospital wing for Hagrid to snap out of his panic and carry the oaf who was now moaning in pain. Dean who had been holding you still, let go of you almost as if you were made of hot iron and apologized under his breath and sprinted to catch up with Seamus.
You were about to yell out thank to Dean for catching you when you turned around and realized the reason for Dean’s sudden odd behavior. Harry was still watching Dean with an emotion that you were not able to place filling the green irises that you were so familiar with.
“How much trouble do you reckon Hagrid’s gonna be in?” Ron asked as you all made your way towards the castle.
“I don’t know. Knowing Malfoy’s father, we haven’t heard the last of this,” you somberly stated.
The next few weeks went by in a blur, Malfoy moaned over his arm, which in your opinion had nothing wrong with it. You saw him catch a piece of parchment you had thrown at him with his bandaged hand without so much a thought, or a bit of pain. He just put on a show whenever he thought people weren’t paying enough attention to him. The oaf. Urgh. You would purposely throw things at him and place heavy books atop his “broken arm” whenever you had the chance. Alright you suppose it was very mean to laugh in his misery but in your opinion had he just listened to Hagrid’s instructions nothing would have happened. Hagrid obviously felt awful and kept apologizing, but Malfoy was still a git about it. He was going on and on about how he was going to have Hagrid sacked and Buckbeak killed. Once he said it very loudly in front of Hagrid that it brought the happy giant man to tears. You, being the ever so kind and patient person, you were, “accidentally” pushed Malfoy into Bowtruckle dung while he was still laughing getting dung even into his mouth.
Aside from Malfoy there was a rather awkward situation that occurred between Harry, McLaggen and you. McLaggen was a showy upperclassman, he was the epitome of the stereotypical Gryffindor. Tough, and brash, but not exactly the brightest of the bunch. He stalked up to you during one morning, chest puffed out and toothy grin plastered over his face. To you he resembled more of an ape than a boy but that didn’t stop some girls from eyeing him. “Hey (Y/N),” he charmed as he pushed Harry and you apart and sat down between you.
“Top of the Mornin’ to ya, McLaggen,” you sarcastically stated. Harry and Ron snickered at the disinterest in your voice but McLaggen clearly didn’t get the hint (again nOt tHe bRiGhTeSt bUlB)
“Listen so the Hogsmeade trip is coming up,” he started.
“Is it? I didn’t know you could read a calendar,” you retorted but he chose to ignore your statement.
“I know that this is your first trip to Hogsmeade and for a bird it’s just sad to go alone. I know that you’re probably fretting over it but not to worry, you to accompany me,” he finished his proposition. You were actually dumbfounded for a second at his remark. He hadn’t even asked you out, he told you that you can go with him.
“McLaggen, though I’m sure that would be, er- well fun isn’t the right word, tolerable, it would be tolerable. I will not be going alone. However, if I ever find the need to be in the company of a donkey, I’ll let you know,” you hotly stated and walked away.
“Mate she just called you an arse,” you faintly heard George bellow out over the laughter that filled the Great Hall.
Soon it was time for your first ever Hogsmeade trip. You offered to stay with Harry when you realized that he wouldn’t be able to go with you, but he told you to go have fun. While on the way to Hogsmeade you noticed Ron nervously looking at you, he always looked like he wanted to say something but after sneaking a peak at Hermione he opted to stay quiet. Once you got to the village even Hermione started acting odd, glaring at you every once in a while. Upon getting the clue, you jogged on ahead of them, citing that you wanted to buy Harry something and went into Zonko’s Joke shop. As you made your way out of  Honeyduke’s you felt an arm wrap around you, but no one was near. Vanilla and Pine Cones. “Harry, no way, how?”
“Fred and George gave me this wicked map,” he explained getting out of his cloak. “It showed me a great route to take without alerting Filch.”
“Great. I was starting to get bored. Let’s go into Three Broomsticks and get a butterbeer. I’ve never tried one,” you stated while dragging him along with you.
“Where’s Ron and Hermione?” Harry asked as you found an empty booth in the corner. Madame Rosmerta, the bartender had given you a rather weird look when you went to counter to place the order.
“They were acting odd once they got here. I decided to leave them alone,” you stated. Your butterbeers came and you both drank the liquid, letting it fill you with warmth. You dragged Harry around with you through the entire village. From Honeyduke’s Harry brought enough sweets to last till Christmas, you had made a comment on it when he said that more than half of it was for you. From Zonko’s you brought Ron the Screaming Yo-Yo he had mentioned wanting. You even walked over to Madam Pudifoot’s but one look at the pink exterior and you pulled Harry with you in the opposite direction.
“Harry,” Hermione exclaimed, as Ron and she came out of the joke shop. Ron looked rather glum until you handed him your package. He opened it and almost tackled you onto the ground in a hug.
Hermione rolled her eyes at the action and kept talking to Harry, “How did you get here?”
“Never mind how,” Ron laughed, “Harry, we’ve got to go into Zonko’s there’s some wicked stuff in there for pranks.” As Hermione hit Ron, you noticed Madame Rosmerta outside of her pub.
“Hey ‘Mione, look who it is,” you diverted their attention to the bartender who was talking to the Minister of Magic, he was looking rather intimidated by her antics. You looked over at Ron who was very red in the face as Hermione took to teasing him about his crush on dear old Rossie.
“Sirius Black?” you heard her say over the chipper of the crowd. Almost immediately you felt movement from you back and you knew Harry was making a beeline for Three Broomsticks. Without another thought you placed an invisibility charm on yourself and walked in Harry’s footsteps.
“Sirius Black? Come now Minerva why would he be coming to Hogsmeade of all places?” you heard Rosmerta ask as McGonagall started to explain the horrendous crimes that Black did. You huddled in a corner far away from everyone in the room but still close enough to hear the conversation. You felt a warm presence next to you that you guessed to be Harry.
“In the darkest times, when James and Lily Potter had to go into hiding Sirius Black was appointed as their secret keeper. He was the only one in the world that knew about their whereabouts, and when it came time to, he betrayed them,” McGonagall explained as tears welled up in your eyes.
Poor Harry must be going through a tsunami of emotions right now, you worried. Knowing that Sirius Black was after him was one thing but now realizing that he was the sole reason his parents were killed must be doing a number on him. You could tell he was shaking, and you felt around for his arm and held on to it.
“So, you think what? That he wants to finish the job You-Know-Who started and kill the boy?” Rosmerta questioned.
McGonagall’s lips stretched into the thinnest line you had ever seen, “Rosmerta the fact of the matter is that he still remains Harry’s godfather. Not only that, that poor girl (Y/N), she has no clue of course.” Your head was spinning from all the revelation that was happening but at your name your ears perked up.
“Oh, that lovely doll, the one with brown eyes and black hair,” Rosmerta added, “I just saw her in my shop, she’s a splitting image of her mum, it made me tear up a bit. I will say her eyes and that hair, that she got from her father. She reminds me so much of her mother, even smiles the same way. (Y/L/N) was such a wonderful woman.”
“”Metra, my dear,” Fudge interrupted, “The lass has no idea that her mother was Estella (Y/L/N) and that her father is Sirius Black.”

Secrets- Part 3
Fandom: Harry Potter: Marauders Era
Pairing: Remus x Reader (eventual)
Warnings: Angst but nothing major
Summary: Remus and you have been dancing around the fact that you are both in love with the other. As a new year starts, Remus is determined to tell you about his secret as well as his feelings for you. However, something is off about you, you are keeping a secret that he does not know. A secret that could destroy everything they have.
Y/N/N= your nickname
Tumblr media
“Ready (Y/N)?” Remus asked, he was standing on the first stairs to the girls dormitory looking up in anticipation as you made your way down to meet him. He had borrowed James’s invisibility cloak to sneak around without the possibility of being caught. You were finally ready, after hours of contemplating on turning Remus down and then another hour figuring out what to wear.
“Yeah, Ray. I’m ready to go,” you say walking down the stairs to meet him. He was dressed casually with a blue button down that complimented his features very well.
“Don’t you look gorgeous,” he said as he not so subtly checked you out.
“Well aren’t you subtle,” you respond to his statement effectively shutting him up and making him turn a crimson red. On the way to the astronomy tower Remus had not uttered a word to you, and you didn’t know what to say to him. Remus had grown a couple of inches over the summer and in order for the both of you to be concealed by the cloak he was partially hunched over you. Somewhere along the way Remus was brave enough to tangle his fingers through yours. It felt nice to have a moment of peace with him, usually the week classes started until the first Hogsmeade trip, you tended to get busy with helping your friends, and the marauders with their new schedule and classwork. After a couple more minutes of silent walking, and some awkward moments of trying to figure out a way to walk up the stairs, you arrived at the Astronomy Tower.
“Ta-da,” Remus weakly stated as he walked you towards what looked to be a picnic blanket on the floor of the balcony. Along with candles that were somehow (magically) still lit despite the wind, there were several of your favorite dessert delicacies, your favorite flowers and two jugs of butterbeer beautifully placed on the blanket.
“Remus, this is…” you started but you couldn’t explain how you felt. This was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for you in your fifteen years of living on this Earth.
“Is it too much? It’s too much isn’t it? I’ve messed up everything,” Remus rambled worry filled in his tone. The thing is Remus was in love with you, and his friends were helping him in trying to express that to you. For the past year he had been trying in his own way to reveal his feelings for you but every time he opens his mouth worry fills him about his Furry Little Problem getting in the way.
However, over the summer he finally got up the courage to decide that he wasn’t going to let his problem get in the way of his life. Sure being a werewolf is dangerous, but his parents pointed out that Remus was holding his entire life back because of something that occurs for one night every month.
Them talking some sense into him kind of opened his eyes. You were an angel, you were kind and smart and beautiful. Even his friends had pointed out that if Remus were to share his problem with you, instead of running for the hills you would try everything in your power to help him. He decided right then that he was going to tell you that he was a werewolf, and was trying to find a good time. Though he knew he didn’t have to bribe you before telling you his secret, Remus felt it was only proper to reveal his feelings for you as well as his darkest secret after doing something nice for you first. The confidence his friends pumped into him before he left the dormitory was starting to leak out of him.
“Too much?” you exclaimed, “Remus John Lupin this is the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me.” You looked towards him shyly, not exactly sure of what to do next.
“Well then, on that note, sit down and enjoy m’lady,” he stated while letting you sit down. “The star shower will start soon.” For the next two hours, Remus and you star gazed, ate, drank, talked and laughed.
“ (Y/N/N) , I have a confession to make,” Remus stated, wiping his sweaty palms on his pants for the fifth time in a minute.
You could see his anxious energy, of course you could. You knew Remus Lupin better than he knew himself sometimes.
You knew how nervous he gets before the first day of classes, you knew how he liked to finish big assignments as soon as they were assigned to make sure he had plenty of time to revise them.
You knew how he bounces his right leg when he’s nervous his latest prank plan failed, and how he tended to bounce his left leg when he overheard people talking about topics he felt strongly about.
You knew how he bites his lips when trying to concentrate, you knew that once a week every month his mum would get sick that he tended to skip classes out of worry. So of course you knew that he was nervous, for what you couldn’t put your finger on so to ease his tension you stated, “Ray, you can tell me anything, you know that.”
Letting a breath out to calm himself down he looked at you. He noticed the way you were looking at the night sky, there was something different about it. It may sound odd to others but this wasn’t the first time Remus and you snuck to the Astronomy Tower to stargaze.
Previously you would point out all the different constellations, and talk about the stories muggles have for each of them. Remus would patiently listen watching the excitement in your eyes, even though he had already read about it. You would point out the beauty in the stars and moon, and for a moment Remus would appreciate the beauty behind the controlling crescent he had grown to hate. But tonight you didn’t share any stories of the stars, nor did you point out the beauty of the moon. The more Remus talked to you tonight, the more he recognized that the woebegone energy you tried to mask in the train ride was deeply rooted in you. Still through your gloomy state you tried to be there for him, and he commended you for that.
“(Y/N/N) , well-er- I suppose we should get back to the dormitory. I’ll tell you then,” Remus quickly said while standing up and offering you a clammy hand up. While on your way to the Gryffindor Tower you couldn’t help but think about what Remus wanted to confess. Was it his feelings? Had he finally gotten the courage to tell you that he liked you? The thought made you happy for a second. For a second your mind wandered to holding hands with Remus in public, stealing his jumpers and wearing them proudly around the school, cuddling up with him while he read you a book, graduating together and moving into a home together, waking up to his bedhead and smiling face for the rest of your life. The thoughts filled you with warmth from your toes all the way to your head but sadness washed over you as cold as ice water as you recognized that none of that will come true once Remus finds out about your secret.
You somehow managed to not cry and while you had let your thoughts run amuck you both reached the Gryffindor tower.
“I had a great time tonight Remus,” you stated turning towards him at the bottom of the girls dormitory staircase.
“I’m glad I was able to put a smile on that face of yours,” he said while moving a stray hair behind your ear. He hoped to Godric that you didn’t see how his hands shook as he did the action.
Both of you were blissfully unaware of the sneaky eyes of the marauders that were watching your every movement since your return from the tower.
“Come on Moony, kiss the girl,” Sirius frustratingly whispered out.
“Shush, they might hear us and we’ll ruin things for him,” Peter let out trying his best to be assertive.
Remus’s heart was hammering so much that he could hear each beat pumping blood to his head in his ear. He wanted so badly to tell you his feelings and secret but when he opened his mouth no sound was coming out. To add to that you were looking up at him through half droopy eyes making you look absolutely adorable, it made his throat run dry.
“Well I should get to bed. I’m certain that the boys will be keeping both of us busy with the same start of term drama we’ve been dealing with,” you said while starting your descent up the stairs.
“Wait,” Remus called out desperately, and grabbed a hold of your elbow pulling you down to him.
“Oof,” you let out, lightly crashing into Remus’s chest. You opened your mouth to ask him what was wrong when all the words died in your mouth. Remus left a sweet chaste kiss on your cheek, he smiled at your loving, and surprised expression, thinking this to be the perfect time to tell you his secret. Just as he was about to tell you that he loved you, and that he’s a werewolf, the Marauders burst from their hiding spot cheering for their two best friends.
“Finally!” James screamed while Sirius wooted and pretended to cry.
“Our babies are all grown up,” Sirius came over and grabbed you both in a bear hug, “Remember to always use protection, babies can’t be having babies.”
“Alright, that is my cue to go,” you pushed him off you and gave Remus a good night hug before running upstairs. As you closed the door to your dormitory you were blushing but also in tears. Remus Lupin, finally got up the courage to express his feelings for you, but once you tell him about your secret he will leave. The Marauders will leave. Your parents will leave. You’ll be all on your own.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Rewrite Part 6
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Harry Potter characters, nor the Harry Potter universe. I am writing this story from my own characters POV and for the most part I will be following along with the film story line with added inspiration from the books.
Wordcount: 3.5k

A/N: I was finally able to access my Google Doc, I’m so sorry that this chapter was a bit late. It’s also quite a bit shorter than the rest of them but that is because this is technically a filler chapter. I promise that the next ones coming will be longer and more exciting, I’m just trying to follow along with some of the more major plot points as best I can while including some of the smaller ones.
Regardless, I hope you all enjoy part 6!

Father Dearest Part 3
Fandom: Harry Potter: Golden Trio Era

Summary: Your third year at Hogwarts is about to start and with it come a lot of new changes. Harry, your best friend and crush, is in trouble from some man named Sirius Black. You try desperately to keep Harry safe but what happens when you find out some heartbreaking, mind shattering information about your father?

“Alright class, today we will talk about Boggarts,” Lupin’s voice was commanding and immediately all the side conversations died out. Looking around you could tell that some of the girls were clearly drooling over your father, a bit disgusted and oddly proud you paid attention to the words that were coming from his mouth. He pointed to a ratty wardrobe that was occasionally quivering as if the thing stuck inside was clamoring to get out. “Can anyone tell me what a Boggart looks like?”
“No one knows,” Hermione answered after a pregnant pause. Ron jumped slightly at her answer not realizing that she was sitting behind him. “The Boggart changes its shape to whatever the person in front of it fears the most. Therefore, it is a shapeless creature.”
“Excellent answer Miss Granger. Ten points to Gryffindor,” he joyfully exclaimed. Seeing Moony genuinely happy almost brought tears to your eyes. You knew of the struggles, the self-hatred and the sadness that plagued most of his life. In your view he deserved the world and more, however this world was often times crueler to the innocent. “Alright everyone, put your books and quills away and stand in one line, we are all going to have a practical lesson.” There was some confusion etched into everyone face, in the three years you have been at Hogwarts never had you ever had a DADA class that was practical. There was the whole incident where Lockhart released a bunch of pixies on the classroom, but other than that this was going to be quite a new experience.
“Now remember children, the spell the repels the Boggart is ‘Riddikulus’, and you must have a happy mind. The spell only does half of the work, laughing is what does the boggart in. You must make the boggart take on a shape that which you find most humorous. Repeat after me,” Remus taught.
“Riddikulus,” you all repeated after him, slightly nervous and excited.
As you were lining up Draco made some comment about the whole class being ‘Riddikulus’ “Mr. Malfoy since you seem to think that this class is a waste of time you may leave.” Remus stated without skipping a beat.
Draco suddenly went very red in the face and grabbed his bag while muttering that that’s not what he meant. No matter how ridiculous he may think a class is everyone knew that Draco Malfoy strives to be the topper in each class.
“Alright Neville. Why don’t you go first?” Remus called Neville forward after Malfoy left. Poor Neville who was trying to hide behind other students went up to Lupin with wide eyes. Before he opened the wardrobe, Remus whispered something into his ear. “Okay now, wand at the ready.”
As the cupboard was opened, to no one’s surprise, Professor Snape came out, however before it could say anything Neville yelled “Riddikulus!” A deafeaning Crack sounded through the classroom and Professor Snape was wearing a green skirt and jacket with a hat decorated what looked like fake squirrels. Laughter filled the room, as Remus called Ron up to face the boggart next. Soon the room was filled with music and laughter. Dean, Seamus, Hermione, and Pravati faced the boggart successfully. As Harry faced the boggart it changed into a dementor. Just when you thought it was going to get Harry like it did on the train, he yelled the spell changing the dementor into a clown. Before you knew it, it was your turn. Remus watched you intently, you knew that he was dreading what your boggart would be, he obviously thought it was going to be a werewolf. It took a moment for the boggart to take form but when it did, it surprised all of you.
A man that looked very closely to what you’ve always imagined your biological father to look like was standing in front of you. “I’ve never wanted you, you worthless piece of scum.” The boggart came stalking towards you with a knife in hand. You stood frozen in fear, forgetting all about the spell. Had Remus not stood between the boggart and you there would have been some serious damage done to your body. Remus was quick to yell ‘Riddikulus’, capture the boggart and dismiss class.
You stood still, even as the classroom was emptying you were staring at the spot the boggart used  to be, your breathing was slowly getting out of control and your eyes were filling with water. “Come on (Y/N),” Harry placed his hands on your shoulder and turned you around forcing you to walk with him out the door. He, of course, knew not to ask any questions right now. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were the only ones in the school that knew of your past of how your father and mother had left you when you were a baby. They never thought anything less of you. In fact, Harry made it his mission to make you feel like you were worth the world. Something Remus very much approved of; Remus who had watched your interaction with the boggart was filled with guilt. He knew that you had some anger towards your birth parents for leaving you, but he had no idea that the little girl he raised like his own was suffering through this much. Tears filled his own eyes as he remembered the promise, he made all those years ago when he first held you. The promise he made that he would never let you feel unloved, that he would love you as a father and a mother, giving you all the care and love the fates cut you off from.
The boys and Hermione got you to the Gryffindor Tower but even then, they weren’t able to make you talk. In fact, you hadn’t uttered a word since you saw that boggart. Hermione and Ron sat next to the fire, arguing about homework half hoping that you would speak just to intervene, but no such thing happened. Soon the students loitering around the common room made their way down to the Great Hall for dinner. Though Hermione tried to force you to come, you refused to get up from the armchair, she gave up the fight and promised to bring you some food. After double checking the common room to make sure that no one else was there, and for the first time since facing the boggart you allowed yourself to show emotions.
The wall you built around your emotions exploded under the pressure. You wailed, pain coursing through your entire body. Without even realizing it you ended up on the floor, sobbing until your body gave out. However, you didn’t lay on the floor for long, because a warm, strong arm raised you from the floor and brought you into a hug. The overwhelming scent of vanilla and pinecones calmed you down almost immediately. He just held you not speaking, and more importantly not forcing you to speak. When your wails withered down to just sniffles, he let go of you, you wiped your face and sat in silence for a bit more.During this time Harry looked at you intensely and you looked at him. To others watching the scene unfold, it might have looked like two teens starting awkwardly at one another. But the truth was sometimes Harry and you didn’t need words to communicate. All you two had to do was look at each other and you would know what the other was trying to convey. This is one of the many reasons Harry was closer to you than any of your other friends. In this case Harry was desperately telling you that you were worth the world and that you shouldn’t let what the boggart said get to you. When you broke eye contact Harry couldn’t help but take his hand to your face and force you to look at him.
“Don’t you think for a second that anything that boggart said is true,” he enforced. “I know that it was hard, I know that it still is hard for you to realize your worth. And I swear on Godric’s name, that I will spend a lifetime convincing you if that’s what it takes. Because (Y/N/N)  you are worth the world, to me you are worth more than anything this world has to offer. You’ve saved my life more times than I can count, you’ve made me feel loved and cared for, I trust you with my deepest secrets. I trust you with my life. When I’m with you, the pain of not having my parents around subsides. Do you really think that someone who is ‘scum’ and ‘not worthy of love’ is capable of making me feel this way?” he poured out his heart.
Neither of you realized it but with each word that Harry said you both drew closer and closer until your faces were but mere centimeters apart. And not only that tears were falling slowly from both of your eyes. You brought your foreheads together and stayed like that for a couple of minutes. Neither of you wanted to pull away, you saw Harry’s eyes dip to your lips as you pulled your forehead away from his. He looked into your eyes as if asking for permission, which you gave him immediately. His face was drawing nearer, but right as you felt his breath on your lips the common room swung open and just like that the moment evaporated.

A/N: I know it’s a small one this time but I promise more is to come :)
Tumblr media
Alright, well, maybe not love but you were sure that he liked you a lot. The longing gazes he didn’t think you noticed, the finding any and every reason to touch you, the constant drop gazes to your lips every time the two of you talked. You noticed all of it and put it all together to figure out that he liked you, yet something was holding him back from acting on the feeling. You didn’t know what it was and frankly by the end of third year, had gotten very tired of waiting for him to make a move. You had planned to ask him out via letter during the summer holiday but...well… that night happened and your hopes of ever having a romantic relationship with anyone was ruined.
“Alright you lot, I reckon we best change into our robes,” James stated as the sun set giving way to darkness. It was a third quarter moon tonight which means you have less than a month till the next full moon. Even thinking about that night puts a frown on your face.
“Hey, are you okay?” the long haired heartthrob of Hogwarts asked. He had grown a lot since the last time you saw him. So the whole protective brother role fit him more than ever. Sirius Black might be a heartbreaker, but if anyone even dared to think of hurting you he would gladly put them in St.Mungo’s himself. Maybe it was due to his own brother disowning him, or maybe it was because he didn’t have a little sister but ever since you two had become friends, he had adopted your big brother role.
“I’m just peachy,” you said, putting on the biggest smile you could muster. He nodded unconvincingly but decided to drop the subject for now. You knew Sirius well enough to know that if you told him about your problem he’d try to help you but the last time someone tried to help you they ended up regretting it.
When getting into the train you were somewhat confident that you could take care of this problem but the closer you got to the school the faster you wanted to run to the safety of your fathers and mothers embrace.
Remus has noticed the change in you, sure you grew just like he had grown however, you seemed more mature. That sounded creepy, he knew it did but he could see it in your face, you looked as if you had aged 5 years mentally. You also looked rather tired which he attributed to the last minute packing he knew you ended up doing. You were currently seated next to the window staring at the moon, the light from the compartment and the darkness from the outside left a rather beautiful glow on your face. Your red and gold tie was a stark contrast to the black of the night. How could anyone not fall in love with you? It baffled him that no one had asked you out yet, he was sure he’d have to wrangle some boys this year because over the summer not only did you grow and get more mature mentally, but if possible you had grown more beautiful. He wasn’t scared though, all he had to do was rile up Sirius enough and he’d join in on scaring away any potential dates.
“So (Y/N/N), you never told us how your summer was,” James spoke, bringing Remus out of his trance. Remus glanced over to the other three who were all giving him a knowing look. They’ve been pestering him to ask you out since the Hogsmeade date you two had. Remus of course in classic Remus fashion stated that you were too perfect for a monster like him.
You were panicking on the inside, what were you supposed to say, ‘Oh my summer? It was wonderful, I got to spend time with my mom and dad. We were thinking about taking a trip to Egypt and the night we were supposed to fly off we got attacked. Ever since then my family and I have been trying to come up with solutions to keep the secret on the down-low. The summer fun didn’t stop there, my dad got attacked again and this time he almost bled out. OVERALL SUMMER WAS FUN OVERLOAD!’
“My summer was quiet and boring. Spent a good half of it just catching up on some reading,” you blurted out. It wasn’t a total lie you did spend the right half of the summer reading up on how to control yourself.
“Ah, I should’ve guessed. Don’t think you’re going to top me this time (Y/N/N), I come prepared as well,” James stated cockishly. Every year since the first James and you had a playful competition over your marks. For the past three years, you were able to top him, with the help of Remus unbeknownst to James.
You smiled at your glass-clad friend, “You’ve been saying that for the past three years mate. Still haven’t been able to beat me.”
“Well, this time is different. I’ll top your marks just you wait.”
“Sure, sure. I’ll top your marks, I’ll get Evans to go out with me,” you mocked him which earned you a glare from him and laughter from the rest of the group present. Soon enough you joined in on the laughter, sure there were problems in your life that you’d have to deal with but for now you could forget and enjoy time with your mates.
You sat at the Gryffindor table listening to your headmaster. You always admired the man on how he was able to set ground rules while being so entertaining. You could tell McGonagall’s gaze was on you a couple of times during the night, her look was unreadable but you hoped to God that she didn’t hate you for what you were now. “Sho I- gm- ‘old them I didn’t chare ‘bout the ‘ules” Sirius said through bites of chicken, spraying food bits here and there. You were seated between Remus and him sitting across from James, Peter, and Lilly. The three across from you and you got pieces of chicken on you from Sirius' statement.
“Haven’t your parents ever taught you not to talk with your mouth full?” Lily stated with disgust wiping away the food with a tissue.
“No, Evans. They were too busy trying to etch into my brain that purebloods will rule the world one day,” he sassed her back while taking another bite of chicken and opening his mouth to speak again. However before he could spit food everywhere you grabbed the top of his head and the bottom of his chin, “That’s alright Sirius, Mama (Y/N/N) will teach you table manners. Rule number one, you don’t chew and talk, you’ll get food on others darling,” you state keeping his mouth shut until he promised you not to be an ass.
“Hey,” Remus whispered in your ear, getting only your attention.
“What’s up Remus?” you questioned.
“Would you like to come with me to the astronomy tower tonight? There’s a star shower that’s supposed to happen at midnight. I know how much you enjoy watching the stars,” he asked blushing wildly.
“I would love to,” you answered, not thinking twice about it. It was only after the answer left your mouth that you realized this might be a date. A date with Remus Lupin, that’s just great. One of the most awaited moments in your life and it happens after everything in your life has gone to hell.

“Harry,” you shook him. “Harry, harry, please wake up.”
“It’s alright children,” Remus stated calmly while rummaging through his bag for something, “they have that effect on people. He should be coming to any moment now.” As Lupin finished and turned to face you, Harry groaned awake.
“(Y/N/N),” he whispered opening his eyes and getting up.
“I’m right here Harry,” you whispered back.
“Are you alright?” he questioned. Even in his weak state he managed to turn to you and look you carefully for any signs of distress. It made your stomach do flips and your heart beat a bit faster.
“Am I alright?” you quizzically ask, “Blimey, Harry you’re the one that passed out.”
“Here,” Lupin interjected handing Harry a chocolate bar. “Eat, you’ll feel better.”
“I heard you scream,” Harry said confused.
“No one was screaming Harry,” Hermione joined in.
Harry taking a bite out of the chocolate bar turned to Lupin asking, “What was that thing?”
“A dementor,” Remus answered. “They are the guards of Azkaban. I suppose they were checking the train looking for Sirius Black. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to have a word with the train master,” before leaving he turned to Harry once again “eat, you’ll feel better.”
“What happened to me?” Harry asked as the train started up once again.
“Well the dementor was coming at me and you threw me to the ground,” you started.
“We thought you were having a fit or something but then you just passed out,” Ron added.
“Professor Lupin cast a Patronus charm and that drove the dementor away,” Hermione finished.
“And did either of you hear a screaming?” he turned to Ron and you.
“No. But I did feel weird though, as if I’d never be happy again,” Ron answered as you shook your head worried for your lightning scared companion.
The rest of the train ride was spent in silence. As it came time for you to change Lupin came into the carriage.
“Mr. Potter, you need to be checked out by Madame Pomfrey before you can go to the Great Hall for the Welcome Feast. I’ve already sent word to the school,” he stated. “Miss (Y/L/N) if you would be so kind as to accompany Mr. Potter that would be appreciated.”
“Of course, Sir,” you agreed, happy that you get to spend some alone time with Harry whilst also making sure that he was okay.
Once the train came to a halt you went with Harry to the Hospital Wing. “I’m sorry” Harry meekly stated.
“What for?”
“If it weren’t for me, you’d be enjoying the sorting ceremony,” he explained shrinking further into himself.
“If it weren’t for you Mr. I-Think-I’m-A-Burden, I’d still be heading to the Hospital Wing, but our roles would be reversed,” you smacked him a bit as you entered the Wing. “And besides, if you’ve seen the Sorting Ceremony once, you’ve seen it a thousand times. It’s not like it changes every year.” Since it was only the beginning of the term you had expected the beds in the Hospital Wing to be empty save for one or two cases. However, Madame Pomfrey was running around checking students out and handing each student a chocolate bar ordering them to eat it.
“Bleeding hell,” you whispered as Madame Pomfrey made her way towards you.
“Bleeding Hell indeed Miss (Y/L/N). These Dementors will be the death of me. Got at least fifteen students. I have no idea why they thought it was a bright idea to let Dementors check the train,” she fumed on as she checked Harry out. “Eat this bar of chocolate and get some rest tonight. You’ll be back to new in no time,” she diagnosed while handing Harry another chocolate bar.
As you made your way to the Great Hall, you noticed that Harry was very quiet. Usually in moments like this when the two of you were alone, he would be more than eager to talk to you about anything. “You alright there Harry? You’re awfully quiet,” you observed.
“I just can’t get the sound of that women screaming from my mind,” he explained grabbing you by the elbows to make you halt. “I swear to you (Y/N/N) it sounded so real to me. The reason I thought that it was you was because it felt like it was someone I cared about. It hurt me that I couldn’t help whoever was screaming, the women sounded like she was so scared.” From his explanation it was clear to you that he was more than a little rattled about the attack.
“Hey, come now,” you say as you enter the Great Hall, “I’ve heard that Dementors play with your emotions and make you vulnerable. They probably had that effect on you. Let’s just focus on happy things, for now. Okay?” Harry nodded in agreement and you cheered pulling him along with you to your seats.
Halfway through Dumbledore’s announcements, you heard a voice calling out to Harry. As you suspected, it was none other than the Prince of Slytherin himself, starting trouble with Harry. “Potter, is it true that you fainted? I mean you actually fainted? That’s got to be some record, poor famous Potter, ends up in the Hospital Wing before the term has even started,” he mocked Harry while his goon friends pretended to faint.
“There’s still time for the term to start Malfoy, keep talking and you’ll end up breaking the record for first student to get a broken nose,” you threatened. Ron, Hermione, Fred and George who overheard Malfoy’s statement snickered at your response. Malfoy, though he doesn’t like to admit it, was a bit terrified of you so he let it go.

Your first week was coming to a close and the class that you had been waiting for the most had finally arrived. “Lupin is by far the best teacher I’ve ever had,” you heard a Slytherin state quietly to her friends as you made your way to the class.
“I heard that he was very hands on and that we’re sure to learn some cool things,” Hermione stated cheerfully. “And you know what, it is high time that we have an efficient teacher, Quirrell though he knew a lot about the Dark Arts taught us nothing, and Lockhart was as daft as a troll.”
“Oh, really,” Ron mocked her, “Lockhart was daft was he. You sure didn’t have that opinion of him when you were drooling over him last year.” This earned Ron a smack from Hermione with her heaviest books.
“Well I just hope that the girls don’t act the same way they did with Lockhart with Lupin,” Dean who was walking a couple of beats behind you with Seamus and Neville commented.
“Yeah, I heard a couple of seventh year girls talking about how ‘dreamy’ he is,” Neville added while making a gagging noise. Maybe it’s because he was used to you lot but Neville would occasionally cast a witty joke, or a sassy comment, in a very un-Nevillieian way.
“Honestly what is it with you girls?” Seamus looked at Hermione and you in slight disgust. “The man is old enough to be your father.” The boys all shared a look and started sniggering.
“Oh, really. You think we’re messed in the head do ya?” you asked not letting them get the last laugh. “Well, just you wait until we get to Hogsmeade and we’ll see who the messed up one is. Lupin may be old enough to be my dad but I’m pretty sure Rosmerta is old enough to be your Gran-Gran.” That comment effectively stopped all the sniggering because none of them could deny that they all fancied the blond bartender of Three Broomsticks. Triumphantly you walked into the DADA classroom and smiled at your father. He may be trying to treat all his students the same, but as he caught your eye, he couldn’t help the smile that spread on his face.
“Alright class, today we will talk about Boggarts.”
