September
September is here and I know this post is late, but I had to take a slight social media detox! I swear once September hits I am all Fall, y’all!! I’m about all things apple, pumpkin, fall leaves, sunflowers, soup, etc! Did you know that apples (and apple trees) are associated with love, health, divination, rebirth and renewal, life, learning, and so many other things? The original bobbing for apples game was a form of slight divination, even! It was said that marriage would come to the first person to bite into the apple while bobbing. Also, if you cut into an apple, you’ll find a pentacle type star!
Correspondences of September are sapphire and sardonyx for crystals, the bear and owl for animals, flowers are morning glory and aster, and the zodiac sign is Virgo.
Let’s talk about some days in September:
Not only is Labor Day the 2nd, but also the Celtic Tree Month of Vine begins…happiness and wrath are both symbolized with the vine, garden magic, magic for joy and happiness but also wrath, rage, anger.
Magical influences for this are empowerment, inner growth, introspection, and prophecy.
Sept 4th is bring your manners to work day (I liked this one, cause I’m constantly reminding myself to have manners in moments where people are pissing me off lol.)
Sept 7th national salami day and world beard day (I liked these two because we used to call our younger sister “salami” to piss her off when we were all younger and we still sort of joke about it to this day… and my boyfriend has a beard that I just love. I love feeling it, smelling it, looking at it…lol!)
Sept 8th grandparents day
9/11… a tragic day that affected so many lives in one way or another! On this day remember all those who lost their lives due to this tragic event and the war it caused!
Friday the 13th
FULL MOON in Pisces on Sept 17, Harvest moon aka the nut moon, barley moon, or wine moon (love that!), the color for this full moon is brown and crystals are carnelian, cat’s eye, iolite, lapis lazuli, peridot, sapphire, blue spinel, blue tourmaline, and zircon
Magickal influences from this moon are confidence, the home, manifestation, protection.
This is a Moon of wisdom, take this time to reflect back on lessons learned this past year, darker days are coming which is good for shadow work.
September 18th NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAYYYY
September 21st International Day of Peace
Sept 22 is Mabon, also known as the autumn (or Fall) equinox – this is a time where night and day or light and dark are balanced. This is a sort of mid-harvest festival, we are celebrating the second of 3 harvest festivals. I’ve read that there is a slight connection to Mabon for how Oktoberfest was created, by the Bavarians. They start celebrating this in the last week of September.
Celebrate Mabon and give thanks to the Earth for abundant crops, practice gratitude, give blessings, share with the less fortunate. When canning, infuse your recipes with magickal influences and charm your jars.
Mabon is also one of those “liminal times” or an in-between time. These are powerful times for spell-work, rituals, and magick in general.
Colors for Mabon are blue, brown, gold, maroon, orange, violet, and yellow
Plants, herbs, etc: aster, marigolds, sage, ivy, grape, fern, blackberry/bramble, chrysanthemum, grains, thistle, and trees are cedar, hazel, aspen, maple, oak, myrtle, and locust
gems: amethyst, topaz
animals: hawk, swans, swallows, geese, dogs, wolves
Element: water
Magickal influences: accomplishment, agriculture, balance, goals, gratitude, grounding
Deities are: Epona, Inanna, Ishtar, Kore, Modron (Celtic Great Earth Mother Goddess), the Morrigan, Persephone, Bacchus, Dionysus, Dumuzi, the Green Man, Hermes, Thoth, Mabon (translates to the divine son) is the son of Modron and he is associated with the element of water, grapes, ivy, dogs, horses, salmon and his magical influences are hunting, darkness, death, freedom, harmony, innocence, justice, the otherworld or underworld, quests, contacting spirits, strength, truth, and youth.
Ways you can celebrate Mabon:
Make a simmer pot with apples, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg, vanilla, star anise, orange slices.
Host a harvest dinner and include apples, squash, corn, grains, root vegetables like carrots potatoes and onions, grapes and wine, nuts, pomegranates, mead, spiced teas.
Make a hearty stew with fresh baked bread, apple pie, mashed squash, mulled wine
Make a cornucopia, go to a pumpkin patch and farmer’s market, go for a fall nature walk, donate food, focus on balance in your life, write a gratitude list, decorate your altar for Mabon with apples, candles that are brown, orange, and gold, marigold and sunflowers, leaves, acorns, grape vines, a deity statue. Celebrate by giving thanks for the abundance and good in your life, and meditate on the things on the things from this past year you'd like to let go of!
Sept 30th Celtic tree month of Ivy begins which symbolizes life, death, and rebirth, spell work during this time would be great for self-work, healing, banishing toxicity, protection, binding spells
Magical influences during this time: decisions and introspection, growth, learning, developing skills.
September in general is a good time to work on magick and intentions for the home.
I feel like 2 of the biggest intentions you can work on in September however, are balance and change, so I’m going to share a spell for this month that I created!
Things you’re going to need: leaves, something to write with, sage, basil, apple, orange candle, oil, sunflowers.
Dress your orange (for balance and change) candle with oil of your choosing and sage for a clear mind, basil for opening yourself to receive messages, and sunflowers for overcoming obstacles.
Core your apple (for peace, rebirth and renewal, self-work) and place your candle inside. You’re basically using this apple as your candle holder!
Light your candle and meditate on the areas in your life that need balance and/or change. When you are done, write your setbacks and obstacles that you want to overcome (to make these changes and bring this balance) onto the leaves. Hold the leaves into your hands and let the wind take them away!

August
To me, August feels like the wind-down of summer. It’s still hot and there’s still time left to enjoy summer, but people (me lol) are starting to get ready for Fall, which is by far my FAVORITE season. Now might be the time that you start to notice the days getting shorter and it’s time to get back to preparing for school for those of us with kids!
August colors: dark green, yellow, red, orange, brown
Crystals and gems: peridot, carnelian, emerald, jade, topaz, tourmaline
Flowers: gladiolus, poppy
Animal: salmon, sturgeon, the cougar
Zodiac sign: Leo
Now let’s get into some significant dates in August:
August 1st we have Lammas or Lughnasadh
From all my readings, I’ve come to the conclusion that these are celebrated the same, however some can just celebrate Lughnasadh, which is the celebration of the Irish Celtic Sun God Lugh, this day symbolizes the sun and earth being connected. I’ve also read that an earth Goddess, Tailtiu, who was actually Lugh’s foster mother, and died from exhaustion after clearing the lands for agriculture. In honor of her sacrifice, Lugh created this day in honor of her.
Llamas is our first of three harvest celebrations. This is a time to celebrate your hard work and efforts. Because the land is still fertile during this time, fertility can also be celebrated. This is a good time to give offerings and thanks to the land. Give offerings to your deities and ancestors. Leave offerings for the animals as well! Corn, bird seed, fill your hummingbird feeders and bee stations.
Colors for llamas are a reddish brown, gold, orange, purple, and yellow
Plants, trees, and herbs are: Apple tree, Oak tree, Rowan tree, blackberry/bramble, aloe, grains, ginseng
Gems and crystals: citrine, yellow diamonds, peridot
Animals: cattle and chickens or roosters
Deities: Aine, Ceres, Demeter, Ereshkigal, Freya, Frigg, Inanna, Ishtar, Kore, Persephone
Magical influences are: accomplishment, agriculture, challenges, darkness, death, endings, release, transformation
Ways to celebrate: make a harvest wreath including the colors of llamas and flowers from this time, create a painting
Host a gathering offering bread, ale, harvested fruits and vegetables, and meat, use fresh herbs in your meal
And you can celebrate this way all month long! Garden, harvest and dry herbs, practice spell work for abundance, a continuously healthy harvest, transformation, work on your divination…put your creativity to use this month!
We have a New Moon in Leo August 4th remember that the new moon is all about new beginnings and a clean slate. Now is the time to set your intentions for the moon cycle. This moon is also good for cleansing and purifying the mind and body.
August 4th is also national friendship day, now this is always the first Sunday in August so it can change every year.
August 4th we also have Mercury retrograde until August 27th
August 5th Celtic tree month of hazel begins (Coll or Call is what the Celts referred to it as and this means “the life force inside you” how cool is that?)
The hazel tree’s magical influences are creativity, divination, clairvoyance, inspiration, wisdom…and is associated with fairies, salmon, and the sun as well.
The Celtic tree month of Hazel’s correspondences are obviously the hazel tree, red agate, the color brown, the crane (which is a bird), and it’s magical influences are creativity, insight and knowledge, wisdom, and goals
This is a good month to work on your creativity and divination, gaining knowledge, working with fairies.
Hazelnuts are said to be associated with wisdom and protection so try incorporating them into your spell work this month!
There is a lore about the hazel tree being sacred and the hazelnuts fall into the river Boyne and the salmon eat them. Those who consume the nuts or the salmon who have consumed the nuts are said to gain the abilities of prophecy and poetry! This makes sense when you think back to how the tree and nuts and the month of Hazel are associated with creativity and insight, clairvoyance, wisdom…
August 8th is international cats day! Cats are such magical and enchanted beings!
Book lovers Day is August 9th
Full moon in Aquarius on August is 19th which is the sturgeon moon, a moon of determination, ambition, and motivation. This moon is also known as the corn moon. August's moon also brings the power of abundance, animal magic, prophecy, prosperity, and wisdom.
National dog day is August 26th

I hope everyone is having a whimsical Wednesday! Today our waning gibbous moon is in Pisces, so you might be feeling the need to escape reality! This is a great time to work on spirituality and meditate.
Our color today is white, which is great for the astral realm, divination, peace and harmony, angel magick, and more!
Good plants, herbs, etc for today are Aspen, Hazel, Rowan, Dill, Jasmine, Lavender, Lily of the Valley, ferns, caraway, nightshade, mint…
Let’s talk about Dill! Which is amazing and probably doesn’t get enough attention!
Dill is associated with the element of fire and has many magical properties like justice, luck, support, strength, wealth, general black magick and xxx magick. It is also good for defensive magick and warding.
The leaves, seeds, and stems of the dill plant are edible. Dill can aid in digestive and bowel issues, increasing breastmilk flow, bad breath, and it is also said to help with colic…
You can make a dill “tea” infusion by steeping the plant (or seeds) in a cup of boiling water. Let it cool before straining and drinking.
*DISCLAIMER: please always do your own research when it comes to identifying, harvesting, and using any plant, flower, herb, etc…

Eggshells for the Magick and Mundane!
Eggshells can be associated with fertility, protection, creativity, growth and change… you can grind them up to make protection powders, make black salt, dress candles for spells, all sorts of things.
You can also use the membrane between the shell and egg white to help heal wounds and burns.
You can also grind up the shells and mix a tablespoon with a meal for a boost of calcium!
Egg shells can also be fed to your hens for the same reason.

The Five of Wands
Tarot Tuesday!
The Five of Wands:
The main message of the five of wands is conflict and/or disagreement. This could be at work, home, or among friends. Think about how your handling a current situation that might involve conflict, then think about how you SHOULD be handling it.
Are you in a relationship, whether romantic or with a friend, that is going through a lot of conflict or drama? Don’t be afraid to cut them off, even if temporary, until healthy resolve can happen. If you have competition or conflict in the workforce, make sure you are remaining professional. Handle any situation or clashing of personalities and views productively and you’ll be ok in the end.
Saturn is represented with this card which is associated with responsibility and discipline. How can you use your self-discipline to handle a conflict where you can walk away with your dignity and where no one loses?
If you’re looking for a yes or no answer, the answer is no.

The doe in my backyard! Deer in general are associated with Gemini and the sun. (Guys…I’m a Gemini Sun, this is totally my deer, right?)
They can be associated with Artemis, Athena, Cailleach, Diana, fairies. Aphrodite, and Nemesis.
Some of their magical influences are adaptability, affection, awareness, unconditional love, peace, purpose, spirits, and wisdom.
The doe specifically for communication, enchantment, goals, and gratitude.
A majestic stag would be more for knowledge, messages and omens from the other world, and shamanic work.

July!
July is here and is one of the main months of summer. I’m all about the warmth of the sun, long summer nights, bonfires, the water...
Summers magic can be all about increasing things, love and friendship, light magick and the sun and warmth and strength. When its summer, I also think of dragonflies and fireflies. Dragonflies are all about dream work, emotions, freedom, messages and omens, transformation, and truth. Fireflies are all about activating and awakening, light magic, guidance through the dark, illumination and hope. Light magick, dream work, and magick for purpose and strength are great this month.
This month on the 8th, the Celtic Tree Month of Holly begins. This is where it is believed that the Holly king has overtaken the Oak King (who’s rule started on June 10th). This is why it is believed now the days start getting shorter or darker. Until the winter solstice where the Holly and Oak king battle again and the days start getting longer due to the Oak King winning. The Holly tree is considered sacred and lucky. The Holly brings strength, protection, energy, and balance.
On July 17th we have the birthday of the Goddess Isis. Isis is the Egyptian Goddess of earth and protector of the dead. She’s considered the patron and role model of all women striving to be loving wives and mothers. She can also be celebrated during Ostara and Yule. You can work with her when needing help with love, transformation, compassion, forgiveness, the afterlife, grief, among other things.
On July 23rd we have Neptunalia which is a 2 day celebration the Romans dedicated to Neptune, the God of waters. From what I’ve read, they did this because this was a time where water was desperately needed.
We have a new moon July 5th and the new moon will be in cancer. This is a great time to make your home more nurturing and welcoming. You might be feeling very “domesticated” and full of compassion.
Our full moon is July 21st. This is known as the Buck moon. People can also refer to this moon as the moon of loss and new beginnings. Just like the buck sheds its antlers and regrows them, take this time to reflect on what growth you have gone through after a loss. This is a moon of strength for with loss and growth you become stronger!
Our full moon will be in Aquarius, which means you might feel a bit rebellious, and others might find you unpredictable.
Crystals for July are carnelian, malachite, onyx, ruby, saphire, red tourmaline, and turquoise.
Animals for July are the woodpecker and salmon.
Colors are green and yellow.
Flowers are Larkspur and Water Lily, I love water lilies.
The zodiac sign this month is Cancer.

Todays Oracle card pull:
Wisdom: Having wisdom means you have knowledge, experience, and you have the ability to make good judgements. Our Elders are known to be “wise” and have “wisdom”. To develop wisdom, you must also have patience. To develop wisdom, you must also be brave enough to go through things. Having wisdom doesn’t mean that you know everything.
