women should be allowed to be obnoxious about being child free, actually. women who don't want children live in a society that's always gaslighting us from all sides about how we're wrong about our own wants and if we ignore our innate call to motherhood we're setting ourselves up to live miserable hollow lives, so if childless brenda from twitter wants to sing the praises to all the free time she has and the fun trips she pays with money that would have otherwise went to jimmy's expenses just let her. women who turn down motherhood deserve visibility and validation, and if you're a woman with children who takes it personally maybe grow a thicker skin and realize this is not about you and that maybe you wouldn't be so offended if you were actually that happy with your choices.

Maybe it’s because I don’t follow/care about celebrity culture, but I feel like there isn’t a voice actor in the world who’s special enough to justify this much secrecy.

I almost wonder if maybe their chosen actor backed out at the last minute and now they’re scrambling to find a new one, or they had to settle for somebody they know will be disappointing and are trying to put off the negative reaction as long as they can…

The thing that baffles me is when the mentality is “we’re doing this to punish Hilary Clinton/Joe Biden/the Democratic Party” because like. Do you actually think that’s who will suffer.

I’m sure Clinton was disappointed by the loss, but ultimately, she was fine. She wasn’t an immigrant, wasn’t LGBTQ+, wasn’t going to be affected by abortion/contraception bans, and had more than enough money to leave the US if things ever got bad enough for that. She was never in danger.

The same is true for Biden. You’re not punishing him, at least not in the long term. He’ll be fine. He’ll be okay no matter what happens. All the White liberal blue checks in the DNC who shop at Whole Foods and go to brunch will likely be fine, especially if they’re in blue states.

It’s everyone else who won’t be.

I'm not gonna tell americans how to vote because it's your business, but as someone from a country that went through an actual right wing dictatorship my approach to voting was never "which candidate meets my standards for them to earn my precious vote", but rather "what's the worse that can happen and how do I keep it from happening"

People really need to understand that last part. There are plenty of folks in every demographic who are assholes, but them being part of that demographic isn’t WHY they’re an asshole. It has no connection to it, and implying that there is one is boiler plate bigotry.

Not the point of the post I just reblogged but it's very aggravating when some people act like they could never find a child annoying, ever, because they're so Empathetic and Pure and you're an evil bitch committing thoughtcrime if you ever even privately think a random kid yelling in a restaurant is being loud and irritating. Like get the fuck off the cross lmao. Kids are loud! Even parents who love their kids and k-8 teachers who love their jobs get annoyed by kids from time to time. It happens. Get over yourself.

My mom has very easily spotted yet another AI-generated paper, because all AI does is vomit out grammatically-correct garbage about a given prompt. Essay-writing is a skill computers can't do successfully yet! And my mom actually reads the texts she assigns in her courses, so obviously she's going to know if AI shits out something completely made up about Foucault or whatever lol.

Anyway, if you can't even be bothered to write your own work at a university, you should fail the course 🤷‍♀️ You're not entitled to an A or a degree if you won't even do the work assigned to you lol. My mom chewed out her students this past week like "you're really going to risk getting a 4-credit F over fucking ChatGPT???"

there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because she’s self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism

if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with “but i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(” or “exactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashed” i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it

i make a lot of posts to the tune of "you're allowed to be horny btw" because it's becoming increasingly clear that adults being sexual in (clearly marked and blockable!) spaces is being stamped out and made out to be evil both legislatively and in the moral zeitgeist, especially among younger folks. not even in the "wait to be a horny adult online when you're An Adult" way, just an ingrained puritanical outrage response to *anything* that isn't chaste wholesome perfect all-ages allowed. it's unnerving and scary.
