this one is called ‘hard to leave’

like static dripping off detached old tv screens

is this truly how it feels when my vision leaves?

like the noise that creeps on up my bedroom walls

when it’s this dark, i’d rather see nothing at all

i’m always in this haze when i’m behind the wheel

when you’re away i know it’s how i’ll always feel

things go wrong and suddenly it’s hard to breathe

right when i need them, traffic lights go out on me

i watched a guy with burning tyres, driving blind to all the others

hard to see a car thats chosen to go dark

i watch in horror as i realise, now’s my chance

hard to know, but you’d be gentle with my heart

i’m always in this haze when i’m behind the wheel

when you’re away i know it’s how i’ll always feel

things go wrong and suddenly it’s hard to breathe

right when i need them, traffic lights go out on me

i watched a bolt mess with the wires, light the sky and fade to darkness

hard to see a light that happens to go dark
