It has come to my realization that I have a lot of blogs and have never actually compiled them together.

Combined ADHD brain with my desire for organization has resulted in some 5+ different fandoms blogs. I am very sorry, it will probably continue.

Chances are if I'm not posting on one blog, I'm having a different fandom obsession.

Hello! I decided to take a crack at redesigning one of the oldest ocs I have!

Echo was a self-insert Undertale oc I originally made eight years ago. Looking back on it, I was just starting to come out of a... not so great time in my life and having a fandom to get really into that wasn't horror was very good for my mental health (and sleep schedule).

The original concept behind her was human (me) dies and is turned into a monster through ~*magic*~. While her design isn't bad, it doesn't match Undertale's character design or me, so I wanted to give her another shot.

Design Process Below:

First things first, she's not going to look like an angel anymore. It feels very 'the first character you make in DnD is an elf and they're graceful and nmnmnm'. Having her concept be that she's a human who dies and is resurrected was a great opportunity to make them a ghost who possesses a robot like MTT or MMM.

Inspirations:

Instead of Echo being a sexy anime robot like MTT, I wanted to take inspiration from some of my interests both then and now.

MTT (obviously) and some au variations like US! Napstabot

Prophet and Prototype from One Shot. While I don't think I've ever mentioned how much I liked this game to anyone in 2016, but I LOVED this game. Honestly, it still holds up and the soundtrack is great to write essays to. The original Echo was actually partially inspired by Alula from that game, and I wanted to bring some of that love back for the redesign.

That one Dj from Deltarune Ch 2 was also an inspiration. Combined with Prophet and Prototype, they really helped me draw and emote the digital camera inspired face.

I wanted to challenge myself and show my growth as an artist by emoting something without most of a face. I also really like photography and wanted to bring some of that in.

Pieces I wanted to keep from original Echo's design:

The one eye

The use of wings- this isn't direct, but I wanted to use some moth shape language in their head with the antennae and hair as a small call back to the angel theme of the original

The name- She's an Echo of the human she used to be

Echo flowers- They like stories, videos, music, etc. While I didn't keep the single echo flower in the hair, I wanted to include this element in the ghost design

The almost monochromatic color scheme- While tinted by the mirror, 2016 has a very blue color scheme. I decided to throw the rich aesthetic blues out the window and go with a neon green color palette. She's passionate and can be a little annoying at times but it's never malicious. They lose at hide and seek every time.

Things that I wanted to include but don't have a clean category for:

The segments of their chest look like autopsy scars

The combination of one eye and potentially four arms is just so fitting. ADHD nah not me who's that never heard of it

Why I chose green: I would either be a kindness or patience soul and green has just kind of become 'my color' as the years have gone by for haha name pun reasons so they get to look like the outside of a watermelon

I imagine them as pretty short like somewhere in the Frisk range maybe a little shorter. It just makes the big hair and hovering more fun, like maybe she uses them to be taller when getting serious or to hover over puddles.

Its either shorts or cargo pants there is no in between and the jacket is more formal looking to reflect the fact that she is an adult despite their height.

I finally checked out Undertale Yellow and it's so good! The music and the animation and the characters and I just can't! As a result, I wanted to take a crack at redesigning the humans!

Design Notes Below!

Before going in, I knew I wanted to make the characters that get confused for each other in their respective games (Frisk and Chara, Clover and the blue souled human) look like each other to some extent. I also wanted Chara and Clove to be a little reminiscent of each other since they both have a shared relationship in Flowey.

Similarities:

Frisk and Chara have a similar silhouette, red in their color palettes, and the same shade of brown for their hair.

Chara and Clover both yellow/gold in their color pallet as well as the same 2 shades of brown

Clover and the blue souled human have the same hair color and blue in their color palettes. If the blue souled human were to let their hair down, it would be about the same length as Clover's

Individual Designs:

Frisk: The only thing I really changed about Frisk's design was their color palette. I wanted there to be more red to bring in their soul color. I also wanted their hair to resemble the Delta Rune's wings.

Chara: By far, Chara's changed the most. I wanted them to look more like a member of the royal family, so I switched the sweater for a tunic and the undershirt they're sometimes depicted with a white undershirt. Their locket is replaced with the red bow/ brooch thing because it fit the fantasy aesthetic more. Like Frisk, their hair resembles the Delta Rune, although more strongly.

Clover: Almost nothing changed about Clover. I rolled up their sleeves and switched out the brown button up for a white and blue stripped out in order to give them some stripes. Because the pattern was so busy up top, I gave them a blank yellow bandana and switched the polka dots to a patch in their pants.

The Blue Souled Human: The biggest things I wanted to do with this design was 1. Keep the silhouette they had in Undertale Yellow and 2. Give them a reason for being in a tutu and ballet shoes. It's winter up top and they're a sugar plum fairy in The Nutcracker. Because of this, I added some purple and white to this design and gave them a sweater that is their soul color.

Kris: I wanted Kris to look kind of miserable to juxtapose with their Dark World self. Their wing like hair (which originally looks a lot more like Frisk's) is drooping and dark and their color palette is monochromatic except for the jacket, which as Asriel's.

The Vessel is a blank slate, glitching kind of character wearing a hospital gown. Their hair is wispy, unformed.

The entire family in the manor for a couple weeks during the holidays gets to be a mostly unintentional present for Bruce. The manor is full of light and life and love again after years of being a memorial to his loss.

Having his family with him is all he ever wanted. It's the perfect gift. Every year.

Hey Guys! This is my April!

She's the main character of the first arc! Here's a summary of the first episode:

The hypothetical first episode would start with her sailing towards the island at sunrise. She would be typing a future post for her cryptozoology blog on her phone before looking up and seeing Los Reyes for the first time. We would get to see Los Reyes from April's perspective, who has never been and finds the island city beautiful and exciting!

She would arrive at Arcadia Neighborhood Residences (or just Arcadia) bright and early a whole week before school starts. While she'd be the first person in her apartment, she would meet one of her neighbors, Keno. He's a film major in her year moving an almost absurd amount of kitchen appliances, filming equipment, and his whole tech set up on top of living stuff into the downstairs apartment by himself. She helps him out and they get to talking. Apparently, Keno's roommate did move in the day before but is out today.

Afterwards, April would do routine things: unpack, go grocery shopping, and wander around campus, finding important locals both for her as a student living there and as a character in this hypothetical show.

Around sunset, she heads of in search of her uncle's old lab. She starts peeking in windows, not seeing much due to how dark it is getting. While in the shadows, she sees a figure on one of the rooftops, barely lit by the setting sun and definitely not human. She tries to catch a video on her phone but its blurry at best. April tries to follow but loses it quickly.

She would head back to her apartment and pull up her blog on her laptop before pausing, opening up a new tab, and instead pulling up Google Docs. She starts to document her observation and adds the video she took to the folder now titled 'The Los Reyes Night Runner'.

At the end of the episode, she would video call her older sister Robyn back in NYC. After talking about her first day, April tells her sister that she thinks she saw something not human, and Robyn doesn't believe her, asking her if she slept at all on the plane. She replies that she didn't but has video evidence and tries to send the video to her but can't. She tries to share the folder and also can't.

Preparing for bed, she texts Keno, telling him that she needs to show him something potentially career making tomorrow.

I wanted to take a crack at medium Mikey (somewhere between the movie and better future Mikey)

Inspirations: various characters from Sky: Children of the Light, Niko from One Shot, and especially Stella (and Dandelion) from Spiritfarer. Mikey would be a fantastic Spiritfarer <3

Mikey's scars are a little different from canon as I made the executive decision that they would follow his vein and arteries as opposed to being more geometric like broken glass. The chips in his hands are only around joints. It's also reminiscent of kintsugi, which is always fun.

Since these aren't in chronological order, I do have a rough timeline of the rise and fall of the lab:

Year 1:

Dr Barry Draxum begins testing his Mutagen

Year 3:

The project has grown, and Dr Draxum begins to have more surviving subjects (though still clearly animals) than he can handle and enlists the help of Shen Tang and Baxter Stockman.

Shen gets married to Yoshi Hamato, a semi famous actor

Leo is mutated

Yoshi is in between work (to his absolute delight, Leo is their baby.) For the next couple of months, he's over all the time and does free labor taking care of Leo and helping Shen out wherever he can. He and Baxter get along fine and Drax tolerates his presence on account of the aforementioned free labor.

Year 4:

Yoshi begins filming his next movie and an accident occurs, killing him. Shen is grief stricken but the project must go on.

Two weeks later, Mikey is mutated. (The death of Yoshi and everyone's' reactions to it will subconsciously impact the two turtles)

Year 5:

The twins are mutated (Teal still unnamed as of this post).

By this point, the mood has lightened slightly in the lab (in large part due to Mikey being the bundle of sunshine that he is) but not to the extent that it was when Yoshi was alive.

Year 7:

Baxter goes missing.

A couple days later, so does Draxum.

Character Info and Story Below!

~~~~~~Backstory~~~~~~

Dr Shen Hamato was part of a small team (if you can call three people a 'team') of researchers creating and studying the effects of a substance called 'Mutagen'. This substance, created by Dr Barry 'Drax' Draxum, was designed to speed up the evolutionary process. In most subjects, this would simply remove unnecessary organs or alter their size but in a few cases, the turtles they were testing on became humanoid. While exciting, the trio couldn't figure out what was causing this very specific reaction in less than a handful of painted turtles. Shortly after the success that was the twins, Drax and Baxter Stockman disappeared. While Shen did suspect foul play, they vanished several days apart. Despite seemingly falling off the face of the earth, no one came to repossess or even look into the facility. Shen simply continued to live there with the four turtles.

For a l o n g time, it was just the five of them. That is… until they found Raph halfway into the first major arc with a drive initialed B.S. around his neck.

Ages and species: Leo is an 18 yro Midland Painted turtle Mikey is a 17 yro Western Painted turtle Donnie and… teal? (we'll get back to her) are twins. They're 15 and Southern Painted turtles Raph is the youngest by almost 3 years. He's 13 and an Eastern Painted turtle

Speaking of Donnie's twin, I don't know what to name her. She's inspired by Venus de Milo, Frida, and Artemisia but I'm conflicted on what to name her. I want her to match her siblings in being named after an Italian Renaissance Artist but there's simultaneously so many and so few options.
