Drawing more recently because I'm moving out literally tomorrow, and I still haven't packed, or done my assignment yet. I love procrastinating.

I did this one quicker than I think any other, like... full body drawing I've done previously. So getting quicker is nice.

again I didn't use a reference. would have helped, since I realised the legs were super small like halfway thru colouring. I have been practicing shoes lately (kinda), hope that shows a bit.

This is another time I just had a pose drawn and decided to make it a character. This one's fitting though.

I have like... 4 separate PNGs of this image, because I couldnt figure out what block of colour I wanted in the background.

Trying to keep this short because I need to pack my stuff and actually do something useful. is it working? no.

I'll probably draw him front facing at some point. He's super fun tho, since he's an acrobat and all bendy

Haven't been able to draw a lot since im moving out soon. did do another drawing with a younger Tim on a skateboard but there was a lot about it I hated so I'm leaving that unfinishes.

Trying to get comfortable with lighting, though, especially with hair and planes on the face. did I use a reference? no. looking at the hair now, the highlights definitely look kinda wrong. oh well.

Idk why but whenever I draw a headshot they always end up with really bad posture. I keep trying to fix it but it happens every time anyway.

I keep forgetting that people read these things sometimes and reply to whatever I've written, so whenever that happens I'm like HOW DID THEY KNOW before I realise

I could've posted this two days ago, but I forgot, so here it is :)

I'll learn how to do backgrounds one day, I swear. And shoes. And clothes.

This feels super unfinished (probably the background), but I'm done with it. mostly because the cape started to look like flesh and I don't want to look at that anymore. Wish I could actually draw skin that well but eh. Looking at it now, the fabric of the cape looks weirdly heavy. But I did remember to give him a cape this time, so well done to me. It was very close, though.

I tried lighting!! And trying to contour stuff to shape and stuff!! I like the leg on the left.

I forgot to use a reference, mostly because I just wanted to get this pose out of my head, It's been stuck there for literally seven months and I've never been able to draw it properly without it being stable, if that makes sense.

Also fun fact, the actual image is super dark, because I have somehow made it a habit to colour with my lights off, so this image has an overlay of slightly red light over it :)

Here it is without that, and the colour background I usually draw on because white is too bright for my poor eyes

Sketch page of the Young Justice core four!

I numbered them in the order I did them in, which gives a very clear indication for when I switched my style.

This would have been done like four or five days ago but I cannot for the life of me draw a fucking running pose holy shit. like the mean for time taken for each drawing would have been maybe 30 minutes, but no 6 was a BITCH and took me maybe five hours alone, but tbf, half of that was spent lamenting.

Btw these aren't, like, the full sketches, after 6 I started to draw the silhouettes of the poses first and then went over it in red. Also, references used for 1,3, and 9. Why didn't I use a reference for number 6 if it was so hard? I gave up. I still think it should have been pushed more but eh.

Posting will probably be slow until maybe October, because I just got into university, for an art course, which is pretty neat ngl. so yippee or whatever.

The sketches of Bart are my favourite and that upsets me. not because I don't like him but because the poses took me so long. He does, however, get the privelige of colour, mostly because he looked super empty without it. I tried giving the others their red as well, but it was too much and Tim looked like Dick, so....

I'm not really a fan of these in general, but I'm posting them anyway, because eventually I get to see progress. much happier with the style I used for the last 4 (sorry Kon), but they don't exactly look young, more like late-ish teenagers.

I'm pretty happy with the one character interaction that I forced myself to do, though, so that's nice, even if they're not really doing anything.

I think I messed up Cassie's outfit by accidentally combining two of them, so oops.

Shoes still suck. I hate them.

This isn't the best, but I don't completely hate it so its fine. This was a sketch, as you can probably tell from the shitty line work, but then I experimented with colouring and kinda liked it, so its weirdly disjointed. Also I resized the image so literally none of the line weight is consistent so...

Anyway, cape turning to night sky. neat concept. probably done a lot before, but I can't think of any examples rn.

I messed with the pose a lot. I think there might have been a reference originally, but it now Does Not look anything like it.

I hate the clouds. and the sky part. I hate drawing/painting those in general, so I should probably do a study or something, but I really don't want to

Oh and fun fact, This blog was supposed to be under a different name, but when I tried to make it, it was already taken. as it turns out, literally exactly 11 months before I had made that account using a different email. I'm so dumb.

I'm trying to make this somewhat coherent, but it's like half 3 in the morning, and I need to wake up at 7. I'm so tired idk why I didn't just finish this tomorrow when I would be happier with it.

as a side note, I think every time I draw Cass her eyes get bigger. which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I fear the day when her eyes will envelop her whole. also it kinda functions like a spiderman mask, so thats fun for expressions.

I had some free time today, so I drew Cassie. I still don't know how to colour, or draw backgrounds, or apparently use references since the only thing I looked up were some outfits she's worn

Considered tagging this as Young Justice, but since its not all the members I just decided not to. Might do that at some point tho, or at least the core four. I need to finish off the original YJ comic run tho, I only got to like halfway thru the second album and that was back in winter.

fun fact: when I first went to upload this, I realised her hair was green. Also she has a septum piercing, not sure how visible it is.

I'm real proud of the leg on the left, which is the main reason I'm uploading this, just so I have something I can look back on and be like YEAH, I DID THAT

also, I don't think I did too bad on the clothing folds, I normally struggle super hard and end up making like 70 layers just so I can try to get it right, but I did it in one B)

please ignore how wonky the background is, I made a template so things would be straight, but the template was wonky so I just decided I didn't care anymore. Theres also no shading apart from the dropshadow and hatching. see reason quoted above.

Love how every post I make is just getting sloooowly getting lower in quality. love that for me. but tbf, I've uploaded 4 more than what I thought I would (This is the fourth post on this account), because I made this account on a whim :)

Fun fact, in the middle of this drawing I found out I had the nightlight filter over my screen, so oops.

honestly not much to say about this, I wanted to practice my leg anatomy and some forshortening, but I did that pretty quickly. I suck at colouring, mostly because this month is the first time I have ever tried to colour in flats instead of painting, which is why everything I'm making is so messy. I like making excuses for my mistakes

I still think her legs are wayyy too long- which is a problem I always have, the pose under Steph's drawing I had to shrink by like a third, sooooo

(Quick edit to say that I actually used half of an anatomy reference for this, so proud of myself. you can probably tell by the upgrade in quality, or that might also be because I increased the canvas size by A Lot.)

The shadows are also pretty wrong, if anyone has any tips on that, please let me know! much thanks for the response on my stuff so far, actually wild to reach 100 notes on one thing, so thank you!

Had a random pose doodled so I decided to make it Stephanie, because she's great.

This is my first time drawing in more flat colours, and I honestly think it went pretty well! I still don't think I got the light direction right, especially with the cape but I couldn't figure it out so I left it like this because it kinda looks okay.

I'm also still not using references apart from the outfit, which is immensely strange for me, and very annoying.

Anyway, this is suppsosed to be a blend between Steph's original spoiler outfit and her Batgirl outfit from more recent times, but I just kinda... forgot the batgirl part, so the only parts that are from that are literally just the cape and the mask, I thought it was also the gauntlets but I'm looking now and it's supposed to be purple so oops ig.

Shoes suck, I should've just hid them again.

I really hope this doesn't come off as like... sexualising her or smth? because looking at it now, with the pose and the eyes it does look kinda suggestive but I genuinely did not mean for it to come off like that. I literally just drew a funky pose and then put Steph on top of it bc I think she's neat. This is hopefully just me thinking too hard about things tho

Just gonna rant under the cut, so don't mind it or whatever

This was pretty much a challenge to myself just to see what I could do with colour, and then I decided not to use any references whatsoever, because I hate myself, apparently.

That's also why I decided to use Tim, because I thought that because I drew him so often that I wouldn't fuck up his costume. And then halfway thru the line art I realised I completely forgot his cape so... now it's a red robin redesign, or something, I don't know.

Anyway, this took way longer than I would like to admit, mostly because the arm on the right was an absolute BITCH to do, and then after I had done it I realised I had to redo the other hand... and when I was done with that the other hand... and again.

No one ask about his boots, I'll cry. I realised I have no idea how to draw shoes even though I've had multiple dedicated study sessions to just that so whatever.

Why is the lighting pink? it looked cool. Why is he in a purple void? the pink lighting looked cool. And also I tried to draw a background before giving up after literally 5 minutes.

Anyway, I think the anatomy is pretty off, especially considering the arm muscles and also the neck, I think his head might be coming off or something but thats his problem not mine.

If anyone has any criticism, please let me know, but please be aware I will also cry. thanks.
