I imagine original timeline Bruce, never told anyone about getting kicked into the lazourous. Our younger Bruce, having no plans to return to the manor, doesn't feel the need to hide it. Especially when he finds out he's dead in (his?) this future anyway.

Bats down au idea

Batman dies with the Joker, and Gotham breaks into chaos. The Batkids are struggling, Alfred has cleaned the manor over multiple times a day.

2 months after Bruce Wayne's death is announced separate from Batman (Always one to protect his identity). A 20 year old Bruce Wayne, emerges in Gotham. Gotham needs her son, and she'll tear him out of time to bring him back.

Fresh out of the lazorous pit after a fight with Ra's. Bruce Wayne is sporting one too many greys for his young age, but that never stopped him from trying to save Gotham before.

Having left Gotham on bad terms with Alfred, he feels no need to visit the manor and continues his investigative work out of a variety of safehouses.

Meanwhile, the grieving Bats have to deal with a new vigilante in Gotham. One that sports a hauntingly similar grin to Jason, moves just too much like Dick, and spends his free time lurking over an abandoned opera house.

What could possibly go wrong?

Superbat fic idea

Everything's the same, BUT Bruce Wayne isn't Batman.

He keeps his Brucie persona, but the real Bruce, calm, calculating, untrusting, Is still keeping tabs on the Gotham elites/villains. He does occasional vigilante work, but it's all undercover, subtle things, mainly behind the scenes.

Flirting with/negotiating with villains or suspects, stealing classified info from lexcorp, occasionally hitting someone with a lead pipe, etc.

Being Bruce, he has a healthy distrust of reporters, with everything that happened when he was younger, who wouldn't. He also has A VERY BIG distrust of vigilantes or supers.

So when Superman keeps 'saving' him from kidnappings (Some he orchestrated himself) it gets harder and harder not to throttle the man. Not to mention having to keep up his act around that smallville reporter that's oh so suddenly interested in Gotham Corruption/Crime.

Superman makes Bruce want to hit his head against a wall and Kent is so adamantly 'good' (Obviously a trick) It makes Bruce's skin itch.

Twice to Gotham 2/2

Bruce, 20yrs old, confused in Gotham.

He's (begrudgingly) staying with his 'kids' and Alfred. As far as he's concerned, he's hallucinating. Or Alfred adopted a bunch of young adults/teens while he was gone and thinks messing with Bruce is somehow funny.

It was between Bruce meeting the normal league as a depressed, feral young man. Or whatever made Bruce 20 again, happened to all the leaguers (which i think is funnier).

J'onn and Diana were off world, thus unaffected and having to deal with rounding up the newly 20 year old heroes for a debrief.

Clarks the easiest, while they don't know his identity. He immediately went to his ma, who filled in his future selfs actions. So Superman shows up at the league himself, looking rather uncomfortable in his getup.

Hal thought they were fucking with him, but they promised hotties. They were not fucking with him.

Oliver was in the league building and literally couldn't get out. He's a bit confused by the outfit and tried to jump the alien guy on site.

They've been reviewing footage of themselves, trying to get a general idea of their roles and how they're gonna figure this out.

One thing they know, is that they aren't excited for the Bat in the videos to show up.

The door slides open... and it's just a (handsome) if not scraggly guy in a black leotard and domino mask. Being escorted by nightwing and redhood. J'onn goes to ask and it's just-

Nightwing: Yeah so, he's really excited to meet you guys... again !

Hood: He said he'd kill himself if we made him wear the 'fuckass halloween mask'

Bruce just sniffs indignantly.

Twice to Gotham 1/2

All i want, is the batfam having to deal with young Bruce.

He gets hit by something when he's solo patrolling, or maybe his comms suddenly go dead. Idc all i know is he opens his eyes and he's 20, fully 20. No memories of his future, no(t) as many scars. He's young and he fought with Alfred at 14 before leaving for more training. He effectively ran away, but in his mind he's just woken up in Gotham. Did he black out drinking? Did the league decide he wasn't enough? Is this some kind of mental game? Did Alfred get people to kidnap him and something went wrong?

Bruce Wayne, 20 years old in Gotham. He wasn't going to come back for another 4 years at least. He's not ready, not to be here, not to see Alfred. He left after a screaming match, he didn't want to live in the manor anymore, he didn't want to deal with the press. But Alfred won't budge and Bruce just feels so dumb? misunderstood? hurt?

Maybe he gets drunk, jumps the Wayne's gate and crawls onto his parents grave. Maybe he pulls at the concrete over them until his hands bleed. Maybe he smashes his hands down over and over, just Bruce Wayne and 6ft of dirt/concrete separating him from his parents.

And Alfred is there, with the batfam on standby because there's been a break in and Bruce is missing. He has his gun, He's talking and calm and rigid and ready to defend the manor.

But when the man turns around, It's just Bruce. 20 year old Bruce, who he never got to see. Messy and bleeding and craving more alcohol or sleep meds or death, whatever.

His Bruce, who's going through his massive crashout phase because this mans early 20s must have been hell. He's grieving, he can't stop and he's back in Gotham, on his parents grave, outside of their house.

And maybe his kids realize he's a bit more human then they thought, and Alfred gets to apologize. Gets to hold him, His son. His young son, who he never got to see or comfort.

Extra: Jason gets to meet a Bruce who seems a bit too much like himself, they're so similar it hurts. Bruce's anger at Alfred, his avoidance, how he lashes out and denies care. Jason feels like he's eating glass.

Extra, extra: The idea of young Bruce running around Gotham in a domino mask and black leotard because he disposed of the weirdass batsuit he woke up in.

Ex3: Bruce "I'm being stalked by coplaying freaks" Wayne, he's completely convinced these arent his kids because he thinks he'd make a fuck awful father.
