HTTYD FIC IDEA OMG PLS READ I THINK I ATE

So Hiccup works in a forge, right? And he lost his leg to fire, right?? (Technically to Toothless, yes, BUT let’s be real—without the fire, it wouldn’t have played out like that.) And we can all agree that Toothless didn’t exactly get to him in time. There’s no way he wasn’t at least a little burnt.

Now imagine this: The Norns (the Norse Fates) are like: “Uh, wtf?? That wasn’t supposed to happen. That was NOT in his threads.” So instead of death… he wakes up with fire powers.

And I don’t mean “ooh, warm hands.” I mean sparks and flames and glowing fingertips and accidentally setting the bed on fire just by breathing too hard kind of powers. He panics. He runs away in the middle of the night with Toothless. No one sees where he went. He’s just… gone.

Meanwhile, back on Berk, the rune bones are giving the Elders weird vibes. Like... cosmically off. They’re flipping tables and blaming curses. Astrid and Stoick are devastated. But no one looks for him. The Elders literally forbid it.

So now we’ve got a runaway Hiccup with freaky fire powers and a dragon, wandering the wilds, trying not to torch everything he touches. The fire sword? A literal soul-forged weapon gifted to him by the Fates or the gods themselves, kind of as an apology like oops, you weren't supposed to have that happen sry. It lets him channel the chaos—finally gives him some control. The dragon scale armor? Yeah. That’s made from Toothless’s sheds. Fireproof. Helps him exist without accidentally combusting.

And THEN—he stumbles across a dragon sanctuary. A hidden island. Cue Valka, queen of dragons. She doesn’t recognize him at first (because armor, age, trauma, etc), but she takes him in, fire powers and all. Treats him like a son. They bond. Eventually they realize—yep. Mother and son reunion. And she loves him as he is. FIRE POWERS AND ALL!!!! They become family.

A couple of cute chapters about their new life and their new bond. Fast forward like five years, around the time of httyd 2, Hiccup does the occasional stealth flyby of Berk just to see if they’re okay. Never lands. Never gets close. Until one day… Smoke. Screaming. Berk’s under attack. He throws on the helmet, drops from the sky, and WRECKS the pillagers with fire and fury like something divine. The villagers call him “the demon.” They’re terrified.

But Astrid sees Toothless. And she knows. She runs after him as he’s leaving, and goes: “...Hiccup?” He turns. Lifts the mask. It’s him. She runs to him. He stumbles back— “Don’t come near me. Don't touch me. I can’t—I’ll hurt you.”

And she just... stops. “Okay. Then don’t touch me. Just talk to me.” They sit. They talk. She hears everything. And she’s like, “Come home. We can figure this out. You’re not cursed.” And Hiccup’s like, “The village would never accept me. The elders would all probably have a stroke.” Then she reaches for him. They touch. And she doesn’t burn. He doesn’t even realize the weight he’s been carrying until it’s gone.

He takes her to the island. He shows her his life. She’s in awe. They spend a few beautiful days together, just existing.

Then she’s like “Okay uh—if I don’t go back soon they’re gonna think I died.” So Hiccup flies her home.

He drops her off in the village square. Faceplate down. No one knows who he is. But he’s surrounded. Spears up. Shields raised. They’re ready to kill him to protect Astrid.

Then—Stoick walks up. Sword drawn. Ready to strike. And Hiccup? He lifts the helmet. And it’s him.

And Stoick just… drops the sword. Drops to his knees. Sobs.

So I think I'm gonna write 2 httyd fics, one just a regular fic and one with an OC, there's a poll at the bottom of this post pls answer it! tyty <3 Regular fic description (hopefully 50-60 chapters, but I know that's ambitious)-

In the aftermath of the Red Death’s defeat, Hiccup wakes to find the world calling him a hero—while he struggles to walk, to sleep, and to breathe without pain. Missing a leg and burdened by expectations he never asked for, Hiccup is thrust into the role of acting chief when Stoick vanishes during a diplomatic expedition.

Still reeling from trauma, chronic pain, and a village that sees him as something he’s not, Hiccup must navigate the impossible task of leading a world he's barely surviving in. With Toothless at his side, support he doesn’t know how to accept, and pressure mounting from every direction, Hiccup is forced to confront grief, responsibility, and his own sense of worth, long before he's ready.

Here's the OC fic description (hopefully around 30ish chapters)- The storm didn’t take Léo. People did.

He was only sixteen when mercenaries descended on his forgotten island—riding warped dragons and leaving fire in their wake. By the time the smoke cleared, there was nothing left but bones, ash… and Wisp. A dragon so rare it lives only in myth, which are now mostly forgotten—born of fog and night, with eyes like shattered stars. Together, boy and beast survive. Together, they escape.

Days turn to delirium. Hunger gnaws. The sky blurs. And when the cliffs of Berk finally appear on the horizon, they crash headfirst into a world that’s never heard of a Nébulex, the rarest dragon yet… or of the boy who tamed one.

Hiccup Haddock didn’t expect a storm-battered stranger to land in his village with a half-dead dragon and eyes full of secrets. But Léo is more than a survivor—he’s a mirror, a warning, and maybe, just maybe… a kindred soul.

Now Léo must learn to live in a world that isn’t burning, where dragons aren’t hunted, and where grief doesn’t have to hollow you out. But healing has never been safe. And his dragon isn’t the only thing the mercenaries left behind.

Reading my own fanfiction is basically just a rollercoaster of emotional whiplash.

20% of the time: “Hold on. I wrote this? This is fire. This is emotionally devastating in the best way. This scene is dripping with tension. I’m a literary perfectionist. Someone give me a book deal.”

80% of the time: “Straight to jail. Immediate prison. Why is everyone’s breath hitching?. I used the word ‘gaze’ three times in one paragraph like I was possessed. Did I think 'his eyes darkened' was profound? Why is everyone clenching their jaws? Why is someone whispering 'their name like a prayer' again?? No one talks like this. What is this dialogue. Why are there so many weird metaphors and em-dashes…”

Peter Parker FanFiction Incoming!

Ok so I technically no one knows who I am, but I've been writing a Peter Parker Fan-Fiction that I am SO excited for. It'll be cross posted here, but I'll mainly be focusing on posting it on Ao3. I'll communicate here about ideas and things and just to keep in touch. I'm so excited for this, it's my longest work and my most put together/planned out work. Creative writing is truly my passion and I have a dream to not only have this be one of those fics that people reference and love and draw art for, but also to become an author and would love critic and advice.
