Why does every adaptation of Supergirl insist on turning her into a female Superman?

Superman and Supergirl have very different, almost opposite dynamics(which also reflect differing immigrant experiences, but I digress)

Superman was raised on earth by humans. He has no memory of Krypton, and in most continuities didnt even know it existed until he was much older. Theres a very real since that his 'homelands' culture is more foreign to him than his adopted one. While he repects his Kryptonian heritage, at the end of the day, Earth is his home, and humans are his people. You see this quite clearly in the fact that he generally prefers to call himself by his human name(clark) rather than his kryptonian one.

Kara on the other hand was raised on Krypton. She didnt arrive on earth till she was much older(teens or even twenties). She IS Kryptonian through and through. Earth is just where she happens to live because she cant go back. She doesnt understand human culture or even at times like humans very much. She is forever an outsider with only her cousin to provide some link to her past and culture.

But for some reason every film/television adaptation of Supergirl(except smallville) writes her with the first dynamic. And its like, why? We already have Superman for that.

I asked this because I was browsing. Reddit And someone said if u s military went up against Atlas, who would win? One guy was trying to argue that Atlas would win because we'd be useless against the grimm.

Ignoring the fact that America has more guns than people. And you're allowed to own tanks and artillery. I'm pretty sure america has big enough rounds to kill most grimm, if not all.

What's your opinion on this.

My initial thought is that people making comparisons like this kinda miss the point of RWBY. But then again, I just don't like powerscaling between sources because there's ALWAYS a bias involved. Basically, you're either so right that you are legally obligated to act smug like you were the one who won the fight, OR you lose and you have to suffer the humiliation and taunting because your blorbo got demolished by a guy that you didn't expect to be stronger.

But I digress.

Also, I'm not a big fan of guns, or at least, I don't know about guns enough to say ".05 BMG is a peashooter" or ".o5 BMG is overkill" because I don't know numbers OR initialisms of firearms.

It's at THIS POINT that I looked into what a BMG is and I'd say that a .50 round would be pretty devastating on a human, so yeah, I think it could tear through Grimm. Far as we know, normal bullets do just as good of a job on Grimm as much as, well, anything else in RWBY that wasn't dust-power. Look at Jaune's sword. It's just a sharp hunk of metal, but it can still cut through Grimm pretty good, right?

If I were to compare Atlas to any military, I'd compare it to Metal Gear series. The reason for that is because Atlas is the most technologically advanced kingdom in Remnant, having a chokehold on dust production AND have access to walking tanks, automaton soldiers, and hard-light technology, similar to the Metal Gear walking tanks, cyborg and android soldiers, and NANOMACHINES, SON!

If you asked me who I think would win, between the US military or Atlas, then my answer is the US, and it's not just because I live here. Comparing the two, we have 333.3 million people living in the US, and supposedly less than 1% of that is in the military, which would be about 3,330,000. General Ironwood explains in V3 how "more than a million people" saw what happened when Yang and Mercury fought. Even if we highball that to 2 million, it's still LESS than the US military. And while Atlas is more technologically advanced, the US has more than six times the number of ways to wipe Atlas off the face of Remnant. And that's not even considering the Grimm that would be drawn in.

In summary, the US military would beat Atlas in military might, and they wouldn't even need to use more than one branch of their five branches, or even one whole branch. Don't believe me? Look up "SLBM" on your search engine.

Finished my next WH40K Kill Team.

These guys are Dutch's team from Predator, 3D minis by @papsikels2020 (instagram). My plan is to mix it up and use them as proxies for Space Marine scouts, as a Catachan team.

Just started to play DnD with friends, we decided to let the dice to chose which race it is for our character.

Yeah, that does make a lot of sense. I still think it would keep tanks around. Cause they're a cheap, less electrical solution that doesn't require years of training to use for grimm.

Also If jauna cooked for them, they'd fucking die of spice Louisiana will drink hot sauce like its water. As for the engineering thing, I'm going to school to become a biomedical engineer and I still know how to turn my car into a fucken tank if need be. My family put it like this to me.

You don't need to be a car repairman. You just need to know how to fix a car. Then, you also learn basic gun safety and maintenance because the first time I went hunting, I was like 6. I guarantee you that if jaune was from louisiana , he went gator hunting.

I don't think tanks exist in Remnant Which is really weird cause you don't need Huntsman to operate them. And i'm pretty sure they could fuck up any grimm just about Like the main Canon could take out heavily armored opponents. The .50 bmg Takes out smaller ones.

I'm... not sure how to approach this one. Like, the premise is neat, but Jaune being from Louisiana is already a wild concept. By this logic, not only does Jaune not have aura, but likely never will, nor will he have a semblance. Not to mention that Jaune doesn't really strike me as the mechanical engineer type, granted his growing up in LA could change his personality just a tinge. Personally, if I was going to make Jaune from down that way, I'd make him a chef, whipping up some delicious rice and shrimp into a gumbo, though I'm not really an expert on what does on in the southeastern US.

As for the presence of tanks, I will agree that it is odd, but one thing to consider is that RWBY has kind of evolved past tanks. Maybe in the Great War there were tanks, but in the current era with hard-light shields, automaton soldiers, and walking mechs, RWBY has probably gone Metal Gear and evolved their weaponry to an era beyond fuel and low-impact bullets. It kinda makes sense since you've got huge, armored Grimm running around, like Ursa, Beowolves, and Beringels. Heck, the armor might even be too thick for mortar fire.

But yeah, this is a neat AU, though it might need a little tweaking. Jaune being a redneck engineer from Louisiana and building tanks seems just a WEE BIT out of character for him. Now, if it was Ruby, that'd be different, since she's already a gun nut.

Though, I remember a couple stories from this ask. The first one that comes to mind is an OLD RWBY AU idea I had about Jaune being an investigative journalist lost in the bayou with Ruby (Bayou AU). Another was an incorrect quote from Far Cry 6, which led a little bit into Jaune and Ruby making plans for a tank he made a long time ago. I dunno, those are just some ideas I had.
