for the most part, whenever simeon did something to make you feel better it usually worked.

this was not one of those moments where anything he could say was going to be able to comfort, not even in the slightest. to be honest all it did was make you feel a bit more concerned. 

the fact that he was trying to make you feel better because of how nervous you were over solomon simply cooking was truly making you question how bad the sorcerer really was when he was in a kitchen. it was already terrifying eating his cooking, you never bothered

"i know you're trying to make me feel better but the fact that you have to say that everything is going to be fine tells me it's not."

"what is that?!" you peaked your head from behind the older angel, the look on your face could only be described as being in complete and utter fear from the horror that you were seeing. 

"hm... it doesn't look that bad, does it?"

luke popped his head out from behind you as you gripped even more tightly onto the angel in front of you. "what do you mean it doesn't look that bad?!"

the both of you looked at him before looking back down at the m o n s t r o s i t y sitting just a few feet away from you on the surprisingly intact counter. 

you weren't sure what you were looking at but you knew for sure it wasn't food. it couldn't be. there was no way that anything in existence would call that edible. you were sure that even cerberus would faint at just the mere sight of it. the fact that you were still standing was unbelievable. 

just what were you staring at? one might ask. 

you had no idea, the only answer you would be capable of giving would be solomon's food. you could swear that every time he stepped into a kitchen he created a whole new demonic species. 

whatever was in front of you was a mess, it was the darkest black you could imagine and it looked as if there was smoke rising from it couldn't be created by a human. was it even possible for a baked good to even be hot before you even brought in near an oven? you were sure that he hadn't even brought a spoon the t h i n g that was once a bowl before you noticed the thin smoke seeping from the counter.

"don't you two worry," simeon said as the two of you looked up at him. "i'm sure it's not nearly as bad as it looks-"

your eyes widened as you pointed at the counter and ducked your head back to its spot behind simeon. "i think it just moved and looked at me!"

the older angel let out a deep sigh as he listened to the two younger exchange students exchange concerns from just behind him. "this is going to be a long day."

"i feel like some people should just never be able to enter a kitchen no matter the circumstances."

surprisingly, you all managed to end up making lattes without anything else breaking or getting ruined, no after simeon finally decided to take over. you were still confused how solomon managed to even make something that managed to harden completely.

you were sure that whatever solomon made was enough to make a hole through a brick wall if someone threw it hard enough. 

simeon, luke, and you sighed in unison. even without saying anything else the two already knew what you meant and couldn't; agree more. 

"can someone's cooking really be that bad?" 

almost immediately, the three of you immediately turned your head to see the sorcerer. you weren't sure what to think about how naive he looked as he said those words. 

"well, there's an extreme in every case, right? there are amazing cooks so there has to be absolutely terrible cooks, it only makes sense."

the white-haired exchange student sighed. "even then i don't think they should never step foot inside a kitchen."

your eyes twitched as you felt the smile on your lip start to waver at his words. sharing a glance with simeon you narrowed your eyes at solomon. 

'of course, you would think that you're the exact type of person that would apply to.' 

"huh?" solomon tilted his head as he looked over his shoulder at the three of you. "what's the matter with you guys?"

"nothing!" the three of you all exclaimed in unison, standing up straight as you gave the white-haired sorcerer a set of nervous smiles. 

with an awkward, forced smile still on your face, you let out a nervous laugh as you barely looked over at the tallest of the three of you. "simeon, i'm starting to get scared, you don't think it's too late to call lucifer and ask him to pick me up, do you?"

"i-i'm sure it's not that bad-"

all three of you flinched as you heard a concerning sound come from the solomon's direction. 

to say it made you feel a bit more scared for your well being would be a major understatement to say the least. "what was that?!" you whisper screamed. 

"did someone just scream?" luke asked as you hid behind you, peeking out at the "normal" scene from behind you. 

you weren't sure if it was amazing or absolutely frightening that solomon was capable of cooking something and making it look absolutely normal and fear-inducing at the same time. 

"you know maybe we could just walk out of here slowly-"

"and it's done!" solomon hummed as he flashed his exchange students a smile.

with much reluctance, you pulled away from lev as you turned your eyes to inuoka and yuki. "he," you said as you pointed a finger at the grey-haired teen. "took a picture from my place when we were studying last night and he won't give it back to me." 

the two bystanders turned their gaze from you to lev almost immediately after you gave your explanation. both tilted their heads as they sent a questioning look at the taller teen. 

lev narrowed his eyes as he turned his gaze back at you and then back at yuki and inuoka. "the only reason i grabbed that picture is because she," he said as he pointed at you. "took one of my pictures from my house when she visited the day before i went over to study."

your face started to burn as you felt eyes on you. "well, the only reason i did that was because he was being more annoying this week and i already knew he was going to do something," you turned away from them as your said your words. "it's not my fault i already know he's going to do something annoying."

inuoka and yuki looked at you with deadpanned expressions on their faces. "are you serious?" they asked in unison. 

the two weren't exactly in disbelief, to be honest, it wasn't as if it was too odd of a thing for you to do. if anything, it was more in character for you than anything they could make up, it was more of the fact that it was so in character for you. it was moments like this that really made them wonder how you were even a real person.

and just like that, the two of you began bickering back and forth once again as if the two weren't only just a few feet away looking on with looks of concern. 

"should we do something?" inuoka asked as he turned to look back at the libero with a concerned look on his face. "they're probably going to do this all lunch."

yuki let out a sigh as he pulled out his phone. "don't mind them," he said as he looked at the time. "they're going to stop in three... two... one... and-"

and just like that, right on time, you heard a small ding go off from inside your bag as you pulled it out. your eyes sparkled as you looked down at the notification on your phone. "lev! look nekomin x3 just updated!" you said in excitement, yuki and inuoka could've sworn they saw sparkles around you as you said that.

"really?!" lev looked excited as he looked back at your phone. 

clenching a fist in front of your chest you looked up at the taller teen with a look of excitement on your face. "do you want to go up onto the rooftop and read it!"

lev followed suit with your actions as the two only watched on with a look that could only be described as a mixture of tired confusion. 

"great idea [n/n]-chan! let's get our lunch and go up to the roof!"

and just like that, the two of quickly went on your way, leaving the two to only watched in confusion. it was almost as if the two of you weren't at each other's throats only seconds before. 

yuki and inuoka blinked slowly before glancing at each other from the corner of their eyes. 

the libero let out a deep sigh as he returned his gaze back to the empty doorway. "i'm really not sure what we're supposed to do with them.

how was it even possible to make a latte look like that?

it didn't even look like a drink anymore by the time you saw it, it looked more like a small creature. you could've even swore that you saw it move at least once while you stared at it in horror. 

you shook your head. "mammon just isn't the best when it comes to 'delicate' details i guess," you sighed out with a nervous smile dressing your lips. 

wait a second!

it seemed that both simeon and luke seemed to come to the same realization that you had come to as all three of you immediately turned to solomon. terrified looks were on all of your faces as solomon was as calm as can be, a smile even on his lips. 

"hmm... i don't think i've ever bothered to every make a latte before," he hummed. "normal coffee and lattes shouldn't be too different, right?"

"hahaha, i don't think so," you nervously laughed. 

'what do you mean they shouldn't be too different?! there's a very clear difference between regular coffee and lattes!'

"is there something wrong?" solomon asked as he looked back at the three of you staring at hm with concerned looks. "you guys look like you saw something die."

your eye twitched. 

that wasn't too far from the truth. 

"i think my appetite died..." luke muttered under his breath. 

"what was that luke?"

before luke was able to say anything else simeon quickly covered the blonde angel's  mouth with his hand as he smiled back at the white-haired human. "he just wanted to say that it's fine that you don't know how to make a latte, we're all learning after all."

you nervously laughed under your breath. "of course, i'm sure nothing you do will be too bad. how bad can it be right?"

the moment those words left your mouth you regretted them with every fiber of your being. just saying that jinxed yourself and now you were even more terrified of what to expect. 

solomon was decent at making things at tea but you've been unfortunate enough to see his version of what could in another world be called coffee. 

"hm?" solomon looked over his shoulder before looking back with a smile. "please give me a second."

"ah, it's alright solomon, take as long as you like," you hummed. 

the three of you watched at the sorcerer's figure became smaller and smaller before finally walking out the classroom doors and as one would've expected, you all let out heavy breaths that none of you knew you were holding back. 

"i regret ever asking!" luke whined. 

"maybe i should've just mentioned something that doesn't involve a kitchen like knitting," you whined as you grabbed onto simeon. "i'm scared about what he'd even create in his attempt to make a latte!"

you could already imagine the monstrosity that solomon would create. it was a bit more than you handle by yourself, it was too terrifying for you to think about. 

"we're probably overreacting," solomon tried to reassure the two of you. 

"don't act calm and collected when your shoulders are shaking while you're just saying that!" you and luke yelled in unison as you both looked up at the dark-haired angel.

"yeah! it's just making you look worse than you already do!"

luke shooked his head, the nervous look on his face being enough to make you even more nervous than before. "what if it ends up like that time he tried to make coffee this morning?"

"wait that was coffee? i thought that was just ink..."

yup. 

you were all doomed. 

at least you could say that you lived a decently nice life though you had to admit you were a bit disappointed that you would be dying due to solomon's terrible cooking skills. 

"i really wanted to live long enough to finish demonronpa..."

"all i wanted to do was make cute latte art..."

you were more than used to getting attention from everyone around you and the occasional confession or love letter wasn't out of the ordinary.

in fact, it was something that was more common than anything. 

and that fact didn't really change all that much since becoming the manager of the boys' volleyball team, if anything you just got a few more admirers. 

considering that, one would've expected that someone like you would already be in a relationship, or at least have a crush already. 

that was somewhat the case, it was just that most people weren't too aware with the crush part especially not with the person it was on. the fact that the few people that figured it out didn't really understand it or believe it completely didn't really help matters all too much. 

after all, most people wouldn't believe anyone would be able to have a crush on someone like kenma especially when that someone was as popular as you were. 

"kenma-senpai! did you have breakfast today yet!" you called out to the second-year, a smile dressing your lips as you waved over at him. 

the setter flinched slightly at your words, letting his shoulders drop before looking back at you. "you know you don't have to call me that," he sighed. 

"it's not that appropriate to call someone older by their first name like that unless you're dati-"

"don't you call lev by his first name?" kenma cut you off, tilting his head as he looked back down at the ground. "it's not that different, right?"

your eye twitched at his comparison, there were completely different. there were no similarities between the two in the slightest.

"of course they're different!" you narrowed your eyes at the second-year.

kenma flinched at your words. "huh?"

"don't be so negative," you sighed out. "why would you ever want to compare yourself to lev of all people. the only reason i call him by his first name is because he's always just there."

"what is that supposed to mean?!"

your shoulders dropped, of course, he had to show up the moment you started to mention him. it was almost as if he had sixth sense for knowing when you were talking about him.

talking about him in a less than positive manner might you add. 

letting out a sigh, you looked over your shoulder before turning around completely. "ew. it's you," you bluntly stated as you looked up at the first year with a bored look in your eyes. 

"wha-" lev gawked as you attempted to ignore him again, giving you attention back to kenma without a second thought.

"anyways," you smiled. "i can always call you kenma if you ever feel like studying with me."

"no thanks."

despite his blunt rejection, you went on talking as if he didn't say a single word. it was almost as if every negative thing he said went through one ear and out the other. "well, we can always eat lunch together?" you suggested, not deterred in the slightest. 

before the setter could say anything else the bell interrupted the two of you leaving kenma to give the two of you a wave before going on his wave. 

lev looked down at you with a blank look on his face. "you know, you're really desperate when you have a crush on someone it's really wei-"

he wasn't able to finish his sentence as you interrupted him by pulling your arm back before slamming it back into his stomach. 

"oops." you said blankly as you looked over your shoulder to see lev grabbing his stomach. "i didn't see you there," you mumbled as you looked away. 

"if you're going to lie can you at least make it a bit more believable?!"

"huh?" you blinked. "why would i want to do that?" you asked in confusion. 

lev's eye twitched at your words. it wasn't really the fact that you were asking it was more of that fact that you sounded so genuine with what you were asking that got to him. 

"i hate you so much..." you mumbled under his breath.

"hm? i mean i do too but what's the occasion?"

not knowing what else to do he let out a deep sigh as he dropped his head, it was impossible with you sometimes. 

"wow, you're really popular, aren't you [n/n]?" inuoka commented as he looked down at the stack of letters and chocolate boxes literally your desk. 

"of course," you answered smugly. "it makes complete sense, right?" you smile as unwrapped another chocolate before popping it into your mouth. 

"don't they say it's a bad thing to be so conceited?" lev asked as you looked through the rest of the stack. "i'm pretty sure you're a bit more confident than most people."

"well, when you're as cute as me you're allowed to be confident," you replied without a hint of shame in your voice. if it was coming from anyone else it would've sounded utterly ridiculous but for some reason, it seemed to make complete sense coming from you. 

yuki, inuoka, and lev all looked at each other from the corners of their eyes before sighing in unison. 

"huh?" you looked up at them in confusion. "did i say something wrong?"

"uh no?" yuki said as he looked up at the ceiling, searching his brain for something to say. "it's just that it's a bit interesting that you kenma-san so much."

"yeah, you two just seem to have... what is it called?" inuoka added on. 

"a lot of chemistry?" you replied with an innocent smile that seemed to be a bit more than they could handle. 

ah, it was really hard to get through to you sometimes. for someone that was so smart you really couldn't read the mood or get the gist of certain things sometimes. 

for someone that was acting so smug just a few seconds ago, it was hard to believe that it was possible for you to be so dense and naive only a few seconds later.

it was almost scary how quickly you switched your tune, even more so when kenma was involved just the slightest. 

"by the way [n/n]," you looked up at inuoka. "why do you like kenma-san so much anyways?"

yuki noded as he looked down in contemplation. "i don't think i really see the two of you talk that often anyways, i always thought you'd have a crush on someone like lev since you guys talk all the time."

at yuki's last few words you narrowed your eyes. "i have higher standards than that yuki, i'd never have a crush on lev of all people." 

"what is that supposed to mean?!" lev retorted. "i'm perfectly fine!"

you quickly whipped your head to the side as you shot the grey-haired teen a sharp glare. "maybe i would think of you as trash if you didn't steal my frosted animal crackers!"

"that was ten years ago!"

"doesn't it look like i care?!" you shot back as you got up from your desk, ignoring yuki and inuoka as the two of you began you daily back and forth. 

the two bystanders let out tired sighs as the watched the two of you go back and forth. 

"you know despite them saying they don't like each other they have a lot of chemistry," yuki mumbled under his breath with a tired smile on his face. 

"no we don't!" the two of you said in unison as you turned to look at yuki. 

the moment the two of you realized it, you looked back at each other before starting up your argument once again. "don't copy what i'm saying!"

"don't copy what i'm saying!"

to make a short story short, unexpected crushes tended to make things interesting to say the least, even if most parties were even aware of them in the first place.
