I finally made a new video! I've been working on this one for a while. It wasn't supposed to be as big as it is, but it turns out I had more to say than I thought I did.

In this video, I picked out five different art styles to study from media that inspired me throughout my life, from elementary school to college and beyond.

Decided to draw one of my favorite constellations, Pegasus. I'm always surprised how large the constellation is.

Fun side note about the pose: it's a dressage move taken from the airs above the ground, a type of high-level dressage moves associated with the Lipizzaner breed. Those types of moves felt very fitting for a pegasus.

And the reclusive doctor Orias, who is content to living a quiet life by the sea until a former student of his ropes him into assisting her. Vincent is asked by an excavation site to investigate a deity's domain that appeared suddenly within the Trigala Desert. There he meets Orias while exploring the depths, only to discover that something has been waiting for their arrival.

An Immortal Laid to Rest is a four-part, fantasy webnovel, with the first part, Log 1, being available to read for free May 17th, 2025. Log 1 — Janahad will feature six chapters in total and will release on a weekly basis starting with the first two chapters.

This is the final art style study I did for my personal challenge: Witch Hat Atelier! I love the style so much, and the manga has some of the best paneling I've ever seen. Highly suggest reading it, especially if you're an artist looking for inspiration!

An anime based on the manga will be coming out sometime this year, and while I'm excited, I don't think it can top the manga. Paneling doesn't translate well to animation, and that is one of the most stunning parts of this manga. Though it also tells a very good story, so I'm not upset that the anime will give it the chance to reach more people.

Another art style study! This one is Yu-Gi-Oh! which lives rent free in my brain. Something about the gravity-defying coats and card games and dragons makes the brain go brrrrrr. Nothing super difficult about this style, it's probably the closest of all the ones I've done so far to my own style, just a bit more angular. Also with bigger eyes.

I read a fanfic where Rei becomes a magical girl, and I just HAD to draw him in his magical girl outfit.

World's angriest man must use the power of the fluffy-wuffy icy icicle wand to vanquish magic glitter beasts. It's amazing.

Updated art for my D&D character, Alithyra Arroway, a half-elf ranger/fighter. Don't worry about the demonic bow that whispers for blood, it wants devil blood, which is totally fine! Her favored enemy is devils anyway, so who's using who, really?

I tried rendering it similar to the P5 art style challenge that I did, and I'm pretty happy with how it looks! But rendering also took forever, so I will probably stick to cell shading for most of my pieces. I'm too lazy for this more complicated render style, regardless of how good it looks.

Another art style challenge! This time it's the Pokemon Adventures manga style.

When I was studying this style, I realized that this style has a lot in common with my older artworks, when I was first starting to take art seriously. I guess that makes sense, since I was reading through the Pokemon manga at the time. I just didn't notice how much it inspired my early style.

Art style study featuring the Persona art style! Specifically, the art style of the character art and covers, which have a more watercolor-esque style, rather than the black cell shading from some of the other art in the game.

I think I got the base sketch and lineart mostly right, but I had no clue what I was doing with the shading and rendering. I think what I ended up with was a close approximation, but it's not fully accurate.

I'm experimenting with comic page layouts (and also comic creation as a whole).

Welcome to the series I'm calling 101 Reasons I Shouldn't Be an Isekai Chosen One. I'm just going to be experimenting with different aspects of storytelling through comics, and keeping a consistent theme between the comics will make it easier to write them.

Reason 1: Decision paralysis. Making decisions is hard, especially when there are so many options I could enjoy. This is the reason I find Mutants and Masterminds so intimidating. Such open-ended character creation makes creating characters harder, not easier.

I love the scenes with the Era Meteor Shower in Frieren. I hope the manga ends with a similar scene.
