Fuelling my body with proper nutrition before working out will allow me to train harder and make the most of my workout. While we all have different nutritional requirements, these known foods have the perfect balance of fats, carbs, and protein - they can stave off hunger, fuel your body, fight fatigue, and even aid recovery. At the moment I am training and focusing on building muscle 💪 so here are some of my favorite pre-workout foods. ** In regards to the Trail Mix 🥜. Nuts do have a high-fat content, but they provide the protein and calories required if you are trying to gain muscle mass. For those whose goal is weight loss, steer clear. ・・・ POST-WORKOUT FOODS Consuming the right #nutrients after your workout 💪 is just as important as what you eat before. During exercise, 🏃🏻♀️ our muscles use up their glycogen stores for fuel. This results in your muscles being partially depleted of glycogen. Some of the proteins in your #muscles 💪 also get broken down and damaged. After your workout 🏋🏻♀️, your body tries to rebuild its glycogen stores and repair and regrow those muscle proteins. Eating the ✔︎ right nutrients soon after your exercise can help your body get this done faster. It is particularly important to eat carbs and protein after your #workout. While there are so many other options available always try to consume #carbs, proteins, and fats that are easily digested. I train first thing in the morning so after my workout, I will generally have a protein shake consisting of whey protein, #banana, and #almondmilk I generally like to consume my #protein shake/meals within 🧭 45 minutes after my workout. If you're looking to make the switch to a vegan diet, these tips can help you get started! These are some of my best tips, especially if you're new to a vegan diet. Start with one day vegan a week, it can be as simple as using plant milk in your breakfast, having a bean chili for lunch & using tofu in your dinner over a full day and build from there. Dairy is probably an easier place to start, there are so man alternatives you can use for milk, butter & yogurts. Visit a vegan restaurant in your area to try some meals & get some inspiration. Replace meat with one of the many options in your meals. Add more plants to your meals, boost the amount of fruit, veg, legumes, whole grains in your current diet. It's also a great way to increase your fiber slowly and get more micronutrients into your diet! Take one vegan recipe a week and try it out, it can as simple or as complicated as you want. The trick is to just start! You'll learn as you progress.
