I love the Danny Phantom fandom's medical gore, but why not torture our DC blorbos too?

Lots of fics make Jason an underdeveloped halfa. Lots of fics make Danny basically unkillable because he's a halfa.

I'm going Maximum Angst Route on this one.

The Justice League buys the GIW's rhetoric. They hear about these dangerous energy imprints, these volatile mimicries of life that are hurting people. The GIW claim they've controlled it in the rest of America, but this one small town has a strong one that protects the rest and helps them attack. They ask for help stopping this one, assure them that once Phantom is neutralised, it'll be easy to deal with the rest. The JL agrees. The JL captures Phantom and hands him over to the GIW.

It takes months to capture most of the other ghosts, as they slowly trickle through the portal to find each other. The JL gains an appreciation for the GIW, having previously fought off entities like Skulker and Plasmius without hero help. They trust the GIW, and so when they ask to scan the heroes for any lingering radiation, they agree.

They're alarmed to find many heroes are mildly irradiated. The GIW removes the lingering ectoplasm from most of them, and they're drained afterwards, but they recover. Damian, who had much higher levels than most, seems almost sedated from his usual fury and violence. Cass privately notes that she can't read people as well anymore, and Damian's lethargy looks uncomfortable for him. She gets suspicious, but when no one listens to her concerns, she leaves for Hong Kong again. She's scared that if her levels get higher and they drain her again, she'll lose the ability to read people entirely. She doesn't want to lose such a fundamental part of how she interacts with the world.

When scanning, however, Batman gets pulled aside. They explain they've found a parasitic ghost in Red Hood, and removing it will be a much longer process. They show the ectoplasm levels, the scans with a visible core. Bruce connects this to the Pit Rage, and agrees to let them take Hood, hoping he will finally get his son back. Jason is cautious, but eventually agrees. This could be the cure he never thought he'd get.

The GIW is estatic. They've discovered a new halfa, and if they do this right, they'll be able to study halfa development. They have Phantom to tear apart to see what an actualised halfa looks like, but watching Hood grow and form? Trying to influence his development, maybe even weaponise him? This is an opportunity they have to make the most of. All they have to do is claim the parasite killed Hood before they could remove it, and they can keep him forever.

The second Jason is alone with the GIW, they sedate him. He wakes up in a cage too small to stand in, right next to the very Phantom he helped capture. The kid is asleep, curled on the floor, bleeding through loose stitches on an autopsy wound. He immediately realises they fucked up, and his rage/guilt/panic attack wakes Phantom up. He expected the kid to be angry, upset, even gleeful that Jason was caught too. He didn't expect the kid to look at him with sad pity, to calm him down and say he's sorry that Jason was mislead and betrayed like this. That yeah, shit's gonna suck now, but Danny (as he insisted) would be there for him for as long as their cages were kept together. That unlike Danny these past few months, Jason wouldn't be dealing with it alone.

The scientists slowly feed Jason ectoplasm, and cut him open daily to monitor how it affects him. Ironically, his Pit Rage is cured, but that doesn't make it any better. If anything, it's worse, because now he's fully cognizant and has no extra energy to fight with. He still does fight at first, even without the Pit, but he knows no one's coming to his rescue. Eventually, he joins Danny in his nihilistic snark and dead-eyed stare. And yeah, they joked about that pun.

Time becomes meaningless. They do whatever they can to escape the hopelessness. Horrifyingly morbid jokes, empty bets on what form of torture they'll endure next, whispered stories about the people they miss. They reach through electrified bars just to feel a hand that doesn't mean harm. They spill their guts, metaphorically and literally, exchanging their deepest fears and secrets until they know each other entirely. Their necessary codependency becomes actual love, because how can you go through this together and know each other so deeply and not love each other? Platonically or romantically or the secret third option that's just insanely codependent affection.

Not sure who ends up rescuing them, but I'm thinking either a) Tim gets suspicious, b) the Outlaws go hunting, or c) Cass realises they have Jason and immediately freaks out. Whoever, they meet up with Team Phantom. Tucker and Sam been on the run since Danny was caught, and Jazz could be in Arkham? Or dead, or on the run too. Team Phantom was only held back by their lack of muscle (that's usually Danny), and now that they have trained fighters on their side, they're able to break in and get their boys. Cue long healing journey and revenge time.

The Camp Fam as Raptor Hybrids (Prompt?)

Am is fishing for fanfics in the hope someone takes the bait? Yes. Do I care? No.

What happens when a scientist is left on the dinosaur infested island, isolated, unsupervised, unregulated, and free to experiment with anything she wants? Well she starts going a bit mad.

She’s determined to find a way to make herself able to survive, and comes up with a perfect plan, but it’s a ludicrous idea to try it on herself, at least without a series of trials!

Then a set of six perfect test subjects falls in her lap.

Cue the kids getting kidnapped, trapped and then experimented on, and then afterwards going through a series of ‘trials’ to test their ability to survive in these new forms. Including several fights against the islands predators, which end in several series injuries.

Thankfully, or not, when the Scorpius Rex escapes and the other dinosaurs begin to freak out, the Ankylosaurus herd break through the facility they are being held in, and the Camp Fam escape.

The ‘pic’ is after the kids find the Poacher couple’s boat, and when they have the beach day, before they Realize the Scorpius Rex is loose.

Now onto my other ideas, include or exclude at your own preference:

1) The Camp Fam can be like werewolf shifters, changing between human and half-raptor, or whatever. In order to circumvent some issues.

Ie: if someone hears about the ability to make hybrid soldiers they will do anything in their power to get their hands on the perfect weapon, so yes the kids would most likely either choose to stay on the island to protect themselves from that fate, or would get kidnapped by the government if they go home looking like this.

2) The sudden anti-humanizing of Kenji can severely affect how everything in Mantah Corp goes down, instead of seeing Dinosaurs as just animals, he suddenly is just like them, if his father knew, what would he do to Kenji or his friends? Kenji would be much more likely to either not betray them, or to fake it until he can get them out.

3) There will be pack dynamics, and part of that is fighting for the ‘alpha’ position. I can see Kenji and Darius getting into a Huge fight over Dr. Wu’s laptop, and I can definitely see the story changing if Kenji wins, bc then he’s in charge, at least according to their instincts. I can also see some sweet things happening bc of the instincts as well. The alpha and Beta are supposed to eat last (they only survive as long as the pack survives) they become even more highly protective of their pack, like even dangerously so.

4) Brooklynn losses her leg and Ben an arm, and the two create their own prosthetics together and it’s chaos, they’ll have hidden compartments filled with weapons, food, and recording devices. They even use it to hide stuff from the others for pranks.

5) they can make noises at a level humans cannot hear, and will constantly ‘click’ back at each other to communicate. This helps with making sure everyone is there even when they aren’t seen, just a comfort blanket for them basically

6) if the kids go back/stay on Nublar, they will befriend Blue, and she cannot decide if she likes these uncanny-valley creatures or not, but dammit will she accept an invite into a pack. I can see her being called Auntie/Tia and she is constantly on them for behaving ‘too human’ they don’t often join her on hunts, but do teach her the amazing art of fishing. Who knows, perhaps during Fallen Kingdom they are all adopted by Owen and Claire with Maisie.

7) my personal favorite: Kenji now likes to wear skirts in his new form, the reason being that he cannot stand the modified pants he has to wear with a tail, they are really constricting. So when Brooklynn and Sammy want to make a supply run for more comfortable clothes, he goes along with and finds himself getting his own. (Yaz doesn’t like running in skirts, so modifies a bathing suit, she made it a partially open back and put in bottoms to hold it closed, and uses a belt for extra protection.)

I was messing around, and Inspired by the amazing fic So. This is our life now by YinnanYan, I made the Camp Fam as Raptors

Basically, the kids are kidnapped and through Wu’s madness are turned into Velociraptors, in this they were Wu’s attempt to copy Lockwood’s daughters work, a virus that changes the genetic code cell by cell.

However, human genetics are much harder to change only a fraction, only a tiny part that causes the defect, than to simply override the existing genetic makeup into his liking, (just like the embryo inside Emu and Ostrich eggs are changed to create a dinosaur).

His belief is that the mind of a human can be put into a raptor in this way, fully aware and capable of taking orders, however the kids manage to catch on, after the first to ‘hatch’ gets very violent and upset, and refuses to listen to any words.

He makes the mistake of saying that ‘it seems the mind cannot comprehend the change in form, perhaps even re writing every cell has had an affect as well, at least this way we don’t have to worry about the previous memories affecting their loyalty.’

This does end up making Wu decide to rename them, and I can’t decide what their ‘raptor’ names should be, any suggestions are welcome.

Also, below the line are a breakdown of the kids changes!

Brooklynn is made with genetic code from Echo, she’s the smallest of the pack and due to having a short snout, also the one with the hardest time in long distance runs. However she’s an amazing ambusher as she can hide much easier due to her size.

Ben was made using genetics from Delta, he was very small at first, but as an adult he’s the largest of their pack. He’s an excellent tracker and ‘tank’ against the larger foes. But he hates conflict unless to protect the others, he stays more towards the back of pack while moving, defending the rear.

Sammy and Kenji are mostly Isla Sorna Velociraptor, however Wu added in some Atrociraptor to see if it would mellow out some of the more violent tendencies.

Sammy is affected by this in her size and bone structure, she’s almost as large as Ben, but all of it is muscle. She’s arguably the most combative of them, having become extremely possessive of the pack. She mostly helps pin down prey, her large form more sturdy in case she’s flung off.

Kenji is the second smallest, just barely a bit larger than Brooklynn, he’s an endurance runner, and alongside Yaz, will exhaust large prey so that the other members of the pack can fight much easier.

Yaz and Darius are made with Blue’s genetics, and while Darius is arguably the most ‘gentle’ of the group towards humans, she’s perhaps the most viscous, with a known tendency to snap at anyone who dares get close enough.

Yaz is mostly legs, an endurance runner and the fastest without question, she mainly sticks to Sammy’s side when not hunting. The pair of them are a lethal team, Yaz quickness and Sammy’s brutality makes them a perfect match.

Darius is a good tracker, but an even better fighter, he takes the lead for most fights, and has a tendancy to spot weaknesses very quickly. Outwardly he appears the most ‘tame’ with humans, he watches them but as long as they keep their distance he’s practically cordial. What they don’t know is his seething rage, and his schemes to make sure his pack escapes.

The Camp Fam as Dinos + Bumpy

Basically, made this for an AU idea, and decided to share.

You know Eddie? The birthday boy scientist who stole the van and got eaten?

Well what if he didn’t know about the van? Was slightly insane, and most importantly, an intern under Lockwood’s daughter. The one who created a shot that literally changed DNA?

Cue experimental chaos that ends with the kids becoming basically Were-Dino, (don’t ask me on the science 😂)

Now the reason I chose what species for what kid-

Brooklynn was originally going to be a lux Parasaurolophus, because of the scene in Chaos Theory (you know what I’m talking about) and Kenji a Brachiosaurus, because of the scene in season 3 where he decides to help the baby find the herd instead of race after Ben and Darius, it’s the first real time we see him choose the path of empathy for the Dinosaurs, and to me it speaks of the trauma of being left behind by his own father.

However, I decided to switch them.

Brooklynn is loud and wants to be heard, she wants the attention and the love of others, and as an adult we see that she wants to do what she thinks is best, and damn the consequences, kind of similar to a huge animal that doesn’t have many natural predators that can take it down without a fight.

Kenji however starts off his life in the spotlight, he has to be perfect and when he’s not he is still a pampered prince, he knows his worth and it’s higher than everybody else. Then he gets a violent and teeth filled reality check, and suddenly his money is useless and he has no practical skills compared to everyone, he realizes that being special doesn’t mean anything when running for your life, and if anything, it makes him an easier meal. He was born with privilege and it means nothing, and as an adult he welcomes it, he doesn’t want to be like his father, like Hammond or Masrani or anyone else, he will survive, he will thrive despite it, not because of it.

Sammy was easy, a triceratops is kind and nurturing to the herd, but fiercely protective and will do what it needs to protect, but she also has a very big and glaring weakness beyond that protection, she has to rely on someone having her back, because she cant do it by herself.

Yaz is was a bit harder, while I thought about a Velociraptor or Gallimimus. Something fast and quick, I realized that the Pteranodon was more for her. As a human she had trained her legs to be her strength, her skill, and now on the Island she has become a liability because of her ankle, she’s slower and weaker and needs breaks more, her ankle has become a glaring weakness in her own self-worth and survival. But give her wings? And suddenly she can fly and still be helpful, she is free, just as free as running for fun used to be, but this time, she is also useful, eyes in the sky to watch out for her friends, and most importantly, for Sammy.

Ben is a compy, not just because he’s small and unassuming, but because everyone has underestimated him, including himself. He’s the weak link in their group, the small and powerless. But that’s the trick to compies isn’t it? They are small and weak, but they have a venomous bite and are deadly in numbers, a pack could even eat an entire T-Rex if they worked hard enough! Then as an adult, Ben becomes more than a tiny scrawny kid, but yet he’s still the same inside, all soft and gushy and fierce beyond any size.

Finally Darius, our adorable and Dino-loving boy. Darius is a T-Rex, but, the startling reality is that a baby t-Rex is still a baby, he can fight sure, but he needs help, he’ll never survive on his own despite anything he tries, he’s still a kid, inexperienced and unprepared. He wants to fight the world to protect the others, has promised to protect them and get them home. Darius has the weight of the world on his shoulders, and he has to learn to accept that the others can still fight. As an adult he goes through a period of isolation and of trying his own way, and it doesn’t work, because he’s still a kid at heart, a kid who wants his family back, and would do anything in the world to protect them.

(Also I know I did the colors a bit weird, but I tried to mix in their young and adult color schemes)

The whole reason Danny’s in Gotham is after the JL Dark say ‘that’s above my pay grade’ and toss it to a friend in the realms,

Cue a few months later Danny getting a ‘something spooky is happening in Gotham, go check it out.’ Order from Clockwork.

He thinks vampire? (Revenant) Jason is the spooky, until Joker breaks out. Then he gets attacked, and he doesn’t want to fight a living human, so is happy to play damsel until it gets a bit out of hand and he gets upset.

He rants to Jason, and Jason explains, ‘yeah, we’ve tried to kill him and we can’t I’m so sorry, even the JLD won’t touch it with a ten foot pole, currently they are waiting for an answer from some Clockwork guy.

Cue Danny having a realization and soups Joker, handing over the thermos to Jason. ‘This is time-out, do what you want with it just don’t break or press that button, sorry it seems Clockwork being an absolute Fruitloop didn’t give me specifics as to why he sent me here.

You get it! That can be why Jason being a ‘vampire’ to draw out some of his excess ectoplasm is like an anxiety medicine for Danny, it’s what he has the most of and it’s what Jason has been feeding of off for the last couple years.

Also just the idea of the batfam freaking out on Bruce bc it’s ’no wonder he’s been so angry! It’s a medical condition Bruce! He killed because his life depended on it!’ Is golden.

Even Damian and Cass are going to support him on that one, they can’t stand killing anymore, but understand the necessity to survive, but then add in his literal biology practically forced him into causing fear and death?

Joker as a revenant would be amazing! I love it!

How about since most of the Batfam are probably liminal that’s how Jason has kept from going completely murder-happy and why he has a need to fight them so bad.

That’s the same reason Joker seed Batman as his equal, even if he doesn’t understand what going on, but he’s also insane, and a much older revenant.

So you know what that means?

The Joker will go mental when he comes across Danny, who his entire body will say to murder, that he has to die.

And Jason will be threatened even worse than ever before, because this asshole, his murderer, his territory rival, has just threatened something he never should have.

Been on a bit of a Dragonriders of Pern kick lately, and having read the Amazing fic by Bobmin I was inspired to make something.

Okay, so when all the Dragons started getting sick the fire Lizards are banned to the southern continent right? But what if a few fire lizards took this a bit far, and ended up going Between to different worlds?

The trio find an injured Fire lizard on the sands of the Black Lake, being protective over a nest. They call for Hagrid, and get the golden and her eggs to his hut, where after a week they hatch.

Cue the trio and Hagrid now having a fair of Fire Lizards.

Soulmate and Wing Au Prompt

Everyone has a Soulmate Mark, when you are born it is in a bright color outline, just the simple shape.

Then, when you meet your Soulmate it becomes colored in, becoming a beautiful picture of something that shows you and your soulmates love for each other.

Jason Todd is born with folded wings across his back in acidic green, and when he becomes Robin he knows the wings symbolize that part of him, showing that he had always been meant to fly.

Then when Jason is fifteen, his back goes ice cold in the middle of the day, like someone dumped a bucket of water across him. His outline is no longer vibrant green of life and energy, but the soulless black of a dead soulmate.

It doesn’t take to long for him to go off the deep end and start taking risks as Robin, and even as Bruce yells at him for hurting someone to much and one guy getting in accident, Well when Jason learns about his mother, his true mother.

Well Jason Todd welcomes that blinking countdown inside the warehouse Joker has left him in.

Then he wakes up and all he can see and feel is green rage and pain.

It takes him a long time to notice the changes to his soulmate mark, but when he does it makes his pain all the more real.

Where had once been an outline when he died, was now dull color across his skin, not quite black and white, but washed out color.

Black wings, with red-orange shoulders, the wings of Red shouldered Blackbird.

Jason tries to ignore it, but the knowledge that he had met his Soulmate in Heaven or Hell, despite not being able to remember it, soothes his broken heart just a little bit.

Meanwhile, Danny Phantom searches desperately for his missing Soulmate, across his back large white and green wings beating desperately.

This started because I wanted to Draw Dead On Main with wings, and then, it kind of drew me in to creating a tiny story for it, so here you go, anyone want to write a fic for me??

Danny In All His Sleep Deprived Slightly Scuffed Up From A Fight Glory Is On His Way To Clockworks Tower To Hopefully Get A Nap And Maybe Some Homework Done When A Natural Portal Opens Up In Front Of Him And Proceeds To Unceremoniously Drop Him In The DC Verse Just Outside Of Central City Before Promptly Closing Leaving A Tired Danny Behind In A Run Down Abandoned Parking Lot.

It's Times Like This When Danny Regrets Putting Off Learning How To Make His Own Portals, Cause Now He Is Very Much Stuck For The Foreseeable Future And He Has No Idea Where Or When He Is. Luckily For Him However Central City Isn't Too Far Away, Unlucky For Him However Is That Once In The City He Realizes This Isn't His Dimension. He's Pretty Sure He'd Remember Something Called The Justice League.

So What Do You Do When Supernatural Bullshit Fails You? You Fall Back On Your Mad Scientist Roots And You Make A Portal Gun. So That's Exactly What Danny Plans To Do.

Unfortunately Staying Alive And Building Questionably Safe Portal Technology Requires Money And Supplies, So He Ends Up Wandering From City To City Doing Odd Jobs/Fixing Up Busted Tech For Cash Or Unwanted Electronics For His "Operation: Get Home" Needs. When you stare into the Abyss: The Beginning of Robin

Bruce never thought he’d have a child, perhaps after his Mission was done, after Gotham was cleaned of the worst of crime and the worst of the worst were behind bars and receiving treatment.

It was a laughable thought, that Bruce would ever manage to clean the corruption out of Gotham, that he would ever be able to pull out the black tar of insanity and crime within his lifetime.

Then Bruce sees a boy watch as his parents die, he sees this small child at the exact same age as he was going through the exact same thing, and it hurts.

Brucie Wayne leaves the circus, but Batman arrives at the crime scene, he wants justice, wants to make sure it was an accident and nothing more, even if for his own heart.

Little Richard Grayson is missing, that’s the first thing he hears, and it scares him. So he joins the search and finds the young boy hidden in one of the Elephant tents. His red, yellow and green Leotard is stained with blood, and it makes Bruce heart ache.

He isn’t scared to see the hulking creature that is Batman, no, this tiny boys is full of rage, of hurt and pain and the need to fight. He screams into Batman’s suit and then collapses into a crying mess on his clawed arms.

He brings the small boy back to the police, even when they watch his non-human form with fear and disgust. He hands the young boy off to be placed with his new guardians and tries to focus on the case.

It isn’t until the next day that he learns the eight year old wasn’t sent to a foster family or even a shelter, but to a juvenile detention center.

There is no family, no will or any instructions on where to place the boy, and the circus doesn’t have the means to fight for the right to keep him, they leave town within the next day.

It’s spur of the moment, born of anger and depression and knowing exactly what that poor boy was going through. Except he didn’t have and Alfred, have the Wayne fortune to keep him safe and cozy inside a huge mansion to cry himself to sleep in.

A few bribes and a lot of money later, and Richard ‘call me Dick’ Grayson is now the Ward of Gotham’s richest bachelor.

The boy is full of energy and the need to play, and Bruce finds himself expanding the gym just to place practice trapeze equipment so he’s got somewhere to let out his energy, beside being a Trapaze artist was in his blood, and Bruce would never try to take it away from him.

But there is rage there too, and after Alfred finds him with a dislocated thumb and bloody knuckles Bruce ends up teaching him how to throw a punch, then how to kick box, then on and on he teaches this boy who soaks up the lessons like a sponge.

It’s not the healthiest coping mechanism, but it works. It turns this grieving and depressed child into a happy and cheerful one, it helps in the best way Bruce knows how.

Then, whoops, Dick follows Alfred into the Batcave and realizes just exactly what’s going on, because Bruce is only halfway into the Batman ensemble and it’s very obvious.

Bruce still hasn’t been able to find Tony Zucco, the man who rigged the Grayson’s to fall. He has tried, so hard, but the lowlife had bunkered down as soon as Batman took to the scene.

Dick yells and screams at Bruce for hiding the secret, then for not being able to catch his parents murderer. He fights Bruce, with the intent to hurt. Bruce regrets teaching how to fight just a little bit, and is very thankful he has a cup on already.

Eventually, after a very long and painful conversation, Dick understands why Bruce hid as he did.

It takes two days before he decides if Bruce can be a crime-fighting Vigelante so can he. Bruce refuses and tells him maybe when he’s older, more trained it might be possible but he is not allowing him to fight crime as a child.

It takes him smuggling into the Batmobile for the fifth time, and almost getting himself caught by a criminal that Bruce realizes that he can’t stop him no matter how hard he tries. Because along with all the tricks the circus and Bruce have taught him, he is a little devil of a child.

So Bruce decides, fine, he can join him on patrol, but only after he goes through this very specific and absolutely grueling training program, keeps his grades above a B+ and after he designs and perfects his own cryptid suit to Bruce’s liking.

Bruce was hoping his endless hoops and almost impossible expectations would make Dick back down, nope, if anything it made him even worse.

He goes through the training with a smile on his face and a continued need to learn, even when Bruce makes him learn how to do college level chemistry, how to code and make back doors and viruses, even when he makes him sit through three hour long lectures on how to tell blood splatters apart.

He excels at school as well, going above and beyond with A+ across the board except for in English, which is understandable since it’s not Dicks first language.

He decides on his mother’s nickname for his new name, Robin, but he also chooses the Grayson colors for his suit, red yellow and green.

Robin looks more like a hummingbird, especially since Dick wanted both stilts and wings on his costume. Bruce actually welcomes the bonding activity of making the prosthetic bird feet that are fully functional, and would never stop Divk from his dream of flying, even if it’s more like paragliding.

Dick even creates his own style of fighting in the suit, flashy and playful but also deadly brutal. Sometimes Bruce forgets how quickly his ward can go from cheery and playful to downright brutal, but honestly he’s proud of his kid, even if this is probably the most concerning father-son bonding excercise ever

And thus, Robin was born and Gotham gained a new cryptid.

It started out pretty simple, almost three months after he had began his career as Batman, intent to save the innocent just as much as punish the criminals of Gotham.

“Batman is still just a man, he’s not a god.”

He had overheard the words at a gala the first time, when airhead Brucie is drinking and flirting with all the pretty girls he can see.

The words of course, don’t visibly effect him, don’t make him pause in his step or his voice calling towards a nearby heiress falter.

However, his heart beats in his chest even as he cozies up to the woman.

Because in truth, Batman was just a man, a rich, overly trained and incredibly intelligent man, but a man nonetheless.

He tries to ignore it, but as he keeps hitting the streets to dig out the rotting tendrils of corruption in this horrible place, he keeps hearing it.

A pair of smokers outside a club known for the fact no woman ever escaped without being drugged to hell and back, talking quietly about the rumors of the Batman that had began picking off their friends one by one.

“I ain’t scare’ o’ i’ jus’a man inna cos’ume.”

“He’s a de’il I ‘ell ya, ‘ere ‘o ‘ollect ‘is souls.”

Batman stays still on the roof above him, but even days later with both men in costudy and the bar shut down for health code violations, his mind keeps going back to the conversation.

It’s whispered in alleys and under bridges and inside packed clubs, the words a mantra the criminals begin to say like a prayer.

It’s sneered with distaste inside the mansions and museums of the rich, joked about inside their ivory castles covered in blood.

It’s said fear inside workplaces and coffe shops, whispered in schools and parks for their only protector.

Batman is just a man.

It agitated Bruce, he doesn’t know why at first, because it is the truth, he is just a man.

Then he sees a blurry photo a the Gotham Gazete with a humanoid shape of shadows, it’s nothing more than a Bigfoot sighting, blurry and pixelated and might just be a trick of the light.

But it makes his stomach curl, because he knows he might not be that lucky next time, and how long would it take for people to start looking for Batman, if they think he is just a man and have a photo to prove it?

Bruce, after a decade of crime fighting, will tell anyone he regrets the decision he made that night, what it created.

His family will hug him and tell him he couldn’t have known.

Because in the bar stool of the kitchen where Alfred is plating an enormous plate of breakfast to make up for the calories lost the night before, he makes a decision.

Batman needed to be more than a man, perhaps not a god, but something close enough no one would ever accuse air-head Bruce Wayne of being the terror of Gotham’s underground.

Alfred will tell what followed was a three day whirlwind of creative insperatikn and sleep-deprived insanity mixed with an over caffeinated Billionaire’s pocket money.

Bruce would say it was three days of careful planning and precise research as well as dozens of mock up designs.

In the end it takes longer than a month for Bruce to implement the changes to his original suit design, practically scrapping it and starting over between dodging board meetings and stalking the streets.

But eventually, Bruce finishes his design, and that night the screams of terror are stronger for quite a while, after all, Batman is no longer just a man.

Okay, so with all the ATLA stuff going on with the disgraceful live action series, I have been inspired so here is an idea.

When the Convergence happens and the Spirit World is thrown into a mess, a small slum district of Republic City is caught in the crossfire.

Gotham District is suddenly displaced into a new world, about early 1800’s maybe?

So starts the City of Gotham, born in a flash of light into a deep swamp across the bay from the City of Metropolis. The people quickly work to hide themselves in this new world, and the few earthbenders that were among them were able to move what buildings they had into the large cave system beneath the surface as they set up temporary shelters, very aware that the bustling people across the bay could see them.

The Metropolis people who did come to check on what was going on assumed the newly built area to be made my the miscreant and lawless population of their city, and the Gothamites, scornfully, allowed the misconception to stand.

They hide the few member of their community who can bend away after one awful day where a young earth bender girl was accused of witchcraft and almost burned at the stake while joining a company of people searching for supplies. A rule is made then, that no one would ever bend above the surface, and no one would ever speak of benders either.

Fast forward a few centuries, and one night Bruce Wayne watches his parents get murdered, and decides on two things.

1) To never allow another person to be orphaned on his watch.

So starts Batman, the protector of Gotham on the Surface.

2) To make sure no one was so in need that they had to commit crimes in order to survive.

So starts a series of bending schools and food banks in the Underground, the Sacred part of Gotham that no blood should ever be shed in. All of which are funded by Bruce Wayne the skilled Earthbender.

When Bruce begins to find himself taking in children, he finds out that all of them are benders themselves, and is excited to teach them bending himself. Though he does enforce one rule, to never bend in costume.

Okay now onto what I think the Batfam would be as Benders! This is my own opinion you don’t have to agree, just don’t be rude in comments!

Alfred:

Alfred is a waterbender, kind and soothing but never destroyed and always there. He is the lifeblood of the family, even though he hides behind the title of a Butler he is really everyone’s grandfather/father.

Bruce:

Bruce is an earthbender, results and determined, never moving and unbreakable. He has devoted himself to his beliefs and to his family, and nothing will ever change that.

Dick:

I think Dick would be a Firebender, while Airbender would be an easy answer, it doesn’t really suit him. Dick has a mean streak and donned the Robin suit in order to commit literal murder, he almost killed Joker, and he fights with Bruce constantly. He is a smoldering flame that will burn bright and hot but keep you warm on even the coldest of nights, he has so much love and affection and to me, he just embodies the character of a firebender, like Uncle Iroh.

Babs:

I think Babs would be a fire bender, similar to what is said above with Dick, but also the fact is, she chose to become a vigilante herself, she chose to fight and protect despite not having anyone to support her at first. When she was paralyzed she still fought, she still does everything she can to protect her friends and family.

Jason:

Jason embodies the Earth, calm and strong and unmoving. Each decision he makes is with reason and choice, and he is confident and willful but also soft when needed. When Jason is revived and filled with anger it shakes his foundations and his morals are shattered, but he reigns destruction like a landslide, devastating and all consuming and utterly unstoppable. Perhaps as he heals he learns to Lavabend, to put the anger and hurt and pain to control and tame the destructive force.

Cass:

Cass is a waterbender, she is used to moving with the tides and rolling with the punches, she is calm and consistent, but also powerful and strong. She can heal just as much as she can hurt, and be beautiful and powerful at the same time.

Steph:

Steph is an airbender, she is carefree and playful and doesn’t need physical things to be happy. She can never sit in one place to long, she wants to know everything and meet every one. She is kind but not merciful, and when she is angered she is as powerful as a tornado and just as destructive.

Tim:

Tim is an earthbender, he is headstrong and willfully stubborn, he has devoted his entire being to his beliefs and cannot be persuaded away.

Duke:

Duke is an airbender, though his meta gene may affect the power he can use. He is calm and straightforward, but dances with the blows life gives him and learns to adapt.

Damian:

Damian I think is a waterbender, he is strong and powerful like the sea, ever changing and never the same. The sea can be calm and merciful or harsh and deadly, and I think that embodies what Damian can be. He can also learn to be kind, to be gentle and loving and oh so very careful. Perhaps part of his recovering is learning how to heal, to use his powers to help instead of harm.
