She's so beautiful,
Like aurora borealis, like those gentle sea breeze that keep flowing,
Like the brightest star in the sky,
Oh, my love how i would love to cherish your love,
From the tip to toe to the left to right,
I'm all down on my knees for your love,
I'll carry your love on my chest to shoulders and brag about it.
I talk to the night sky about your beauty, and the stars answers by twinkling, and the moon shines more brighter.
In your love, i would take your hands and walk barefoot on those meadows, soak with water.
I want to get all wet & drenched in you love.

NOWHERE
Can you hear us?
Can you see this bridge?
Can you see this river?
Can you see through the transparency?
Can you smile at us like you used to?
Do you remember all the dead lives?
Remember the transparency bugs?
They are,
We're all coming down to earth
as invisible snow
You see that snow?
Can you smell it?
Do you know about the snow?
It falls only during the summer
Please don't go over the bridge
You won't be able to hear us
This is nowhere
Invisible mist flows
only over the rivers

lilac
when my friend falls in love,
it always takes him
by surprise
even though
he keeps a picture of her in his wallet,
even though
he worships at her shrine at dusk
even though he tells me
she is the prettiest girl he has ever seen.
but he learns her favourite books,
lets her paint his nails
(in a shade of lilac he never liked)
holds her hand in crowded rooms,
and sings to her when she's anxious
he tells me everytime he comes home
he had never felt like this before.
he asks me if love feels like this
if it always squeezes your heart like a loving vice,
I show him the scars you get,
I show him my poems,
show him how everyone i've ever loved is immortalized
in the words i write, forever,
how I love like a madman
shouting across isolated streets, without reason
without rhyme.
and it's then, he knows.
when he knows he is in love.
- e.u.
(my friend fell in love yesterday :D)

To Lizzy
I hope when you think of that home—
you think of me and not them;
I hope when you see shapes on your arms—
you remember how I drew colors over the scars;
I hope when you finally part with the clothes I mended—
you remember my gentle whispers not their harsh hatred;
I hope when you think of broken vows—
you think of your promise not bloody garden trowels;
I hope when you remember your insecurities—
you think about how I cherished every one of these;
And lastly I hope this reaches you—
so you finally know forever and always;
I love you.

The Dog
Šuŋka takuni slolye šni
Blindly following the hand that feeds
To where Anog-Ite lies he falls
Never knowing it a trap at all
Despite two-faced he does not flee
He just wants her to be happy
Wakhan Tanka tried to bring him home
But he only found Šuŋka's bones

Shackled
It's all a dream, it's all a fucking dream
Nothing is as it ever seems
I'm lost and I'm drifting
In my mind slowly shifting
Shackled away from reality
Trapped inside a reverie
Conscious akin to bastille
Wherein nothing is ever real

Strawberry Mornings
When I woke up I saw her. Her. Tamira. The love of my life. In my drowsy state I could not contain my large, goofy smile. This was the first time I had ever woken up next to someone Iike this. And it was perfect.
She shifted slightly in her sleep and I gently ran my fingers over her upper arm. I sat for a while and just admired her, thinking of the way her cheeks tinted a darker color when I kissed her soft thighs last night. I'd keep that in mind for next time. She was so pretty with her braids strewn about my pillows, and the way the first rays filtered through the thin curtains and across her skin, painting her in a warm glow made her look ethereal. Enchanted.
Her eyes started to flutter till they slowly opened and locked with mine. Upon recognition, she grinned the same goofy grin I had worn earlier.
"Morning, Love..." her whispered words sounded like the beautiful poetry she had written me, even though she was still slightly hazy with sleep.
"Good morning Strawberry~" I chirped, ever the morning person.
"Mmmmmm... you still insist on calling me that just because I told you I like the Beatles?"
"And because you dyed the tips of your hair red!" A soft giggle escaped me as she reached over to ruffle my hair, further disheveling it. Then she seized me and pulled me on top of her.
"Tami what are you doing!?" I squealed with a laugh as we tumbled on to the floor.
"Look, I fell for you."
This caused both of us to burst in to laughter. When I finally caught my breath I pressed a soft kiss to the end of her nose and let out a gentle little sigh.
I wish mornings with my strawberry girl could last forever.

I see. A poem to Aphrodite.
Oh fair Aphrodite you have taken me.
The pining for a woman i have never seen, nor ever known, nor may ever know.
The longing for the hold that never comes, nor ever felt, nor ever coming.
It has taken hold.
Her voice echoes through my mind, laughing like the plucked string of a Lyre.
Her eyes shine in reflections that i may never look at clearly.
One ever chased but never seen.
Of fair Aphrodite, why hath thy cursed me?
I see her, i feel her. The sun caught in her flowing hair.
I see her, i hear her, the string cut through my bleeding heart.
I see her, i know her.
I see her.
I see
Fair Aphrodite, i see. I see now what you see.
Fair Aphrodite, i see.

Sappho is my deity
Her starborn soul it sings to me
She floats, recounts her history
Those tales of love and misery
A ghost, her tears they water me
And out comes life from old debris
And I, a humble worship tree
Let brand new song from lips spring free

the grass is greener
words my mom used to say
if only to give me peace of mind
but here I am on the other side
there’s something missing
or something wrong
and now I’m home
or at least I thought I was home
but I feel more lost than ever
a stranger in a strange land
surrounded by excess displays
billionaire brainwashing on billboards
narcissists looking for hits on freeways
I want something more
I want something real
maybe I spoke too soon
three clicks and I’m home again

January 2024 Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Book: A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon
Author: Sarah Hawley
Series: Glimmer Falls book 1
Rating:🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
All of the plot twists were pretty obvious beforehand, but I think that's part of the charm to this book. It was a really cute, fun, and cozy read.
I loved the environmentalist themes and the dynamic between the two main characters. The way Oz helped Mariel be more confident in herself was wonderful and something I think is really important to exhibit in media.

Book: A Demon's Guide to Wooing a Witch
Author: Sarah Hawley
Series: Glimmer Falls book 2
Rating:🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
This book was even better than it's predecessor. I absolutely adored Calladia as a character and the way Astaroth treated her once they became closer. The female empowerment in this book is one of my favorite aspects about it.
It shares the same issue with the first book in it's series in that the plot is rather obvious, but again, I think it serves the cozy fantasy vibes. I'm not a huge fan of the amnesia trope as it's really overdone, but I still recommend this book.

Book: The Lavender Haze
Author: June Bates
Series: Standalone
Rating:🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
Comfy, sapphic poetry. It was a super short and nice read, but it does contain mentions of familial homophobia. A lot of the poems were more like stylized journal entries though, which was a bit of an odd choice in writing.

Book: With Love, and Sunflowers
Author: Brittany Cline
Series: Standalone
Rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
I really enjoyed this collection, and it even inspired some of my own work. The entire thing is able to be read in one sitting and has poems of all parts of a relationship, including the bad.
This is a super underrated book and I hope to see more by this author in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Book: Gothikana
Author: RuNyx
Series: Standalone
Rating:🌕🌕🌕🌕🌖
The writing may not be the best, but I love this book with my entire being. The story is haunting and simply beautiful to the point where I can look past the moments where the writing is a little male gaze-y (mostly in the beginning).
Seeing psychosis in a romance novel means a lot to me as I have family members who are schizophrenic. Having an MC with hallucinations is a nice change of pace.
Please check the trigger warnings for this book as it can be very intense.
