So, since I started IML when I was like 13, Holly was never really intended to have a romance with anyone, but I'm aware that a lot of my readers wanted her to end up with Zach or Lance. I'm rewriting the story now, so the plans are still in the air, but I can tell you what the plan was in the original version.

This is the guy who let Brennan believe Booth was dead for his book material, and consistently needled Hodgins so that he could feel included in the group. He usually means well but sometimes goes about things in bad ways. Holly's never been open to talking about herself, can be pretty mean, and once she forms an opinion of someone, it takes quite a bit for that opinion to change. When he was just Booth and Brennan's psychotherapist, I planned for Lance to want to be friends, but Holly to be generally apathetic towards him.

Around the end of S3 and the start of S4, there's a lot of tension to go around. Lance let them think Booth was dead, and he knows that the team suspected he was the apprentice, and everyone knows they would have preferred for him to be rather than what actually happened with Zach. Gone is the apathy, and rather, both are frustrated and somewhat resentful of each other.

The plan was for them to gradually soothe things over during S4 as working in close proximity forced them to learn more about the other. Episodes like "The Princess in the Pear" would've shown they have common interests, and others, like "Mayhem on a Cross," would've shown common experiences. The through-lines of the Gravedigger and Booth's hallucinations would've also created some opportunities to communicate and build trust, so they would have finished S4 as friends.

I originally intended to end the story after S5, as well, with Holly parting ways with the Jeffersonian team to live her own adult life. As I'm rewriting, I'm not sure whether I'll do this or not, but regardless, their friendship was meant be an important part of helping Holly process anxiety and make decisions for herself independent of her found family. I don't have any concrete examples of this, but for example, imagine Booth and Brennan each urging Holly to choose a specific career avenue and Lance urging her to take a third option that she would prefer.

Wtf. Law is the law, I get it, but if you take that stance then the cops really should be pulling over everyone who’s breaking that law or at least the people doing so most egregiously (like the Honda that was going 70 in an active construction zone!), not only ticketing the drivers with out of state license plates.

After an accident that has left me with a hairline fracture in my vertebrae, I am now in desperate need of additional funds in order to get an increasingly critical surgery to prevent paralysis or death. This is in addition to the already established itinerary of surgeries needed to remove the multiple growths in my spine that are expanding and growing everyday. I am terrified of what feels inevitable, and I am in so much pain. I truly need help. I am sorry to continue bombarding your dashboards with my pleas for help, but I wouldn't be doing it if this were not a life or death situation. Please share this, and if you are able, I sincerely need donations. All of my expenses are piling up on me all at once, and I can't number the amount of panic attacks this catastrophe has caused me to have. I am so terrified, and I honestly feel so much shame in having to ask for help to keep me alive, but if there is anyone that can spare anything out of the kindness of their hearts, I cannot tell you how much it would mean to me. You would quite literally be saving my life.

I only have so long before irreparable damage is done to my spine, so I humbly plead with you all to share this and donate, if possible. I love you all, and wish the best for you. I sincerely hope that this is one of the last posts of this kind that I will ever have to make.
