Hello world!! It's been a very difficult period of time for me and I've generally been feeling "disconnected" due to my PTSD. It was triggered by the car accident you now all know about and it's been an amazing learning period of time. I've learnt a lot about the psychology of trauma and how it affects people. It's been a challenging year for me and this last month has been - strangely - the most difficult to cope with (after Mauritius). I am using all my resources and coping methods I've learnt over the years to come out of this. Singing, dancing, make up art and therapy have been helping a lot. Although the change of weather from summer to autumn, the long weekends and not having been to rest have been adding stress to the already high pile of pressure under the lid. So at least let me use my summer hat for one more day. Ah, forgot to mention, a new typhoon is heading this way from the Philippines and it may hit Hong Kong on Sunday... but by then my Diwali dance 💃🏼 performance will be history written in my life. Yes you read it well, I'm rehearsing for a dance performance! Just adding more life experiences to the already long list! It's been ages since I've last used my performance art skills and now it's about time to bring them back to life! Because music 🎶 is able to bring me back to life, without fail! I was showing a small part of my creative work (and the pictures of some of the events I attended) to an entrepreneur that is launching a platform where local Hong Kong artists and photographers can sell their work. The feedback was that apparently my portfolio is "amazing". It's the third time someone tells me that today. I always think I do too little, that I've done nothing to be proud of and that I don't have enough experience. As a serial entrepreneur and "multi talented" artist I struggle to see my achievements. From my point of awareness, nothing is happening and I haven't "done much, really". But so many people both in the business and in the media world are telling me the opposite these days. I have to go back to some of my pictures of my "favourites" folder to get a more balanced perspective of what's been happening in the last three years. There are 678 of them favourite picture in there btw... 🤣 I've been starting taking some of them off the list to make space for more amazing collaborations, film work, art and start ups to come. Something happened in central and the traffic got stuck, it's been about a hour now, on the pavements around here, it's bustling with life and it's hot/humid. It's been an amazing day for me going from one great place to the other and did so much already, so I'm happy just to look up at the reflections and wait endlessly here. So if yesterday was a dream, 365 days ago feels like another life in another world! I couldn't be farther apart from that moment, that feeling and that type outfit. But here laying down on a hospital bed in Hong Kong, my neck in a brace and my aching body in oversized "scarecrow" pyjamas, I can only imagine how can I make more good times like these come by.
