We have to remind ourselves daily that this is what it is. We are on the road and doing what we want even though we might not be “doing what we want” at the current moment. I feel stuck in my own head asking myself; “What’s the next move? How can I help? How can we evolve? How can we move forward?” But we are moving forward, we are evolving, we are helping, we are adjusting, and we are doing the best that we can. We are eating healthy, we are working out daily, we are doing good for the world, and we are doing the best that we can leading by example. Sometimes it’s so EASY to just get caught up in your head within those 15 seconds that you forget how to breathe, expand, allow, and refocus. I tell myself and MJ everyday that we are on the right path and where we have been is exactly where we needed to be. I will tell you: We miss the mountains, we miss the smell of the dirt, and we miss climbing whatever we can. We miss the snow and we also miss the feeling of being lost so deep in the mountains that we have to stop the van and step out and look up. It’s a beautiful feeling. It’s rainy here today, and I was scrolling through my phone to Exactly a week ago today where I found this- and it made me happy. We have all we need. #vanlife #homeiswhereyouparkit #thankyou #road #storyteller #inspire https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsn3hqhgcpC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=6eswcmmgo07b

Joshua Tree National Park, CA.
Not much to say about this place. You have to be there to experience how beautiful and magical it is. The rocks, the trees, people climbing, and hiking. It was a beautiful time. If anyone ever has the chance to come this way, do yourself a favor and drive through this park.

Grand Canyon National Park, AZ. When we drove into the North Rim of the park we were amazed to see just trees and long roads. Usually when people talk or post about the Grand Canyon you usually see the famous Ooh Ahh Point photo or from the top of the rim. We ended up getting in late and with the season being over at the north rim the rangers gave us a free campsite and free wood. We got to watch a killer sunset and relax for the night before driving 4 hours the next day to the South Rim. We spent 3 days at the Grand Canyon, we stumbled up on Mathers Campground that originally said it was full but when we walked up we got a spot no problem. Thankfully. We were in walking distance to the market and 3 minutes from the shuttle which was awesome. Every morning and night we had massive elk walking by, or lounging at our campground under the trees. Buggy loved them, she just sat there and wondered what they were doing and why they were so big. 😂🙏🏼 We hiked 6 miles the next day, to Skeleton Point, which was the most satisfying hike I’ve done thus far At any national park. Almost 2 thousand feet elevation gain in 3 miles it def made me work harder than I thought. We ended up finishing the 6 mile hike in exactly 3 hours. In and out. Which was so rewarding. I highly suggest doing that hike or the Bright Angel trail. Just being inside the canyon is something super special. It’s quiet and not a lot of people go in. Most stay at the top or walk in a little bit and head out. It is definitely hard for people that aren’t hikers, but it would be done. Just a straight shot up. ✌🏼❤️

Acadia National Park, ME. Our first trip to #acadianationalpark and it was epic. We appreciated how #dogfriendly the park was, and how Buggy could go on most hikes and ride the free shuttle that was provided for everyone. We did majority of the hikes, (as much as we could without leaving the pup behind) but it was super killer to be greeted by the vast skies and ocean provided. We stayed at a campground close by and took the shuttle or bikes everywhere. If anyone has the chance to go, hike Caddilac Mountain, and do the Beehive if you can!

The only thing we planned was to go. As we left New Hampshire & Massachusetts we only knew we were heading to Acadia. We knew nothing else. We’ve never planned anything, we’ve never said “ok this is what we’re doing and we’re going this way” No. we get to one place and whatever is around that interests us, we do that. Eventually we will make our way to the next destination. We keep it light, we live minimally, we eat healthy, we try to do the right thing, we respect each other and the space we live in. We have a few key items we need and that’s good for us. So a little about MJ and myself (Maja) we have been together for 5 years, we have a dog named Buggy, she’s a pit mix, she’s almost 5. I am a photographer and have been for 8 years now, MJ is a tattoo artist and he’s been tattooing for almost 11. I’ve also been in the restaurant industry, real estate, customer service, ect.. I mainly love the restaurant industry and photography. I’m good with people and I genuinely enjoy what I do. Same with MJ, he’s an incredible tattoo artist. (@MBTATTOOS if you guys wanna check him out) The first time we hit the road was 2 years ago and went back to New England with hopes of re-doing our old van. Which never happened and we bought this beauty. We spent some time at home and now are on the west coast with no intentions of going back. We enjoy the West and what it offers. It’s an incredible world we live in. I’m grateful to be here.

Badlands National Park, SD. My feet are resting against a paint can and the sun is beaming at my face. I’m sitting next to the van, I am sitting on a chair that my old boss gave me that she won in a raffle. We’ve had these chairs for the last two years. The sun is beautiful in the desert. There is flies everywhere and they must be happy that the sun is out as well. They aren’t bothering me. I feel at peace. I wasn’t going to start writing for this blog again. logging in, and seeing how many people reposted some of the photos and commenting on our journey really made me happy. Made me want to sit here and post and write, I forgot how much I loved to write. So thank you for inspiring me to do this again. It makes me feel good, this is a beautiful thing. These are from when we drove straight from Acadia to the Badlands, coming from 50 degree weather to a perfect 85 degree day, was incredible. Took us about 5 days to make the trek and those 5 days were incredible. We stayed at different campgrounds, wal-marts, ate incredible farm grown veggies, and enjoyed every single minute of it. Once we got to the Badlands we were in complete awe. I refer to it as “Landing on Mars” These national parks are like walking into another Dimension. They are all so special and unique in their own ways. They all bring something so incredible to the table. Whether it’s clay, trees, desert, it’s all unbelievable. It’s all light, and beautiful. @badlands

Bonneville Salt Flats, UT. We started this blog to truly try to inspire people To go and do. To leave, to explore, to see something bigger than. Something bigger, bolder, meaningful. What’s really the ultimate “dream”? Each and every single person has their reasons for what is and what could be. We personally... feel alive in the sunlight. We feel alive in the mountains, with the cold mornings, hot desert days, waking up in places where We know no one. Missing family and sitting and crying to release. From pure happiness. From just being truly happy and able to do. Do whatever We want, see what We want and inspire others if We can. One of the things that has truly opened our eyes about traveling and wandering around has been what we’ve learned about ourselves. How incredible it is to learn about thyself. How important we are as humans with beating hearts and what we are capable of. Love, anger, sadness, the power and art of letting go, learning to be patient, to be kind, wanting to scream at the top of my lungs on days I hear music that touches my soul, while sitting in someone’s backyard with headphones in. We feel inspired. We feel the ultimate love. The ultimate reason to be. Working slowly, loving hard, and respecting the journey and the path we are on. I wake up everyday and say thank you. Thank you to the sun I wake up with, and thank you to the moon I go to bed with. Some days are hard, some days I feel like I’m dreaming, some days I question everything. What am I doing? Is this what 31 year olds should be doing? But WHAT IS REALLY RIGHT? WHAT IS REALLY OK!? How do you know? You don’t. So you wander. You find yourself, and it’s all ok. It’s all a choice. I choose the sun, the van, my dog, my love, and the road leading us to places some will never see. I chose to lead by example. I chose to be free. ❤️ Anyways, last road trip we did it was too cold to go to the Salt Flats, we had to be somewhere and we were gonna “come back” so I remember being so eager to get here, to show MJ how insane some of these Places are... Buggy was so confused bc it was all salt and no water, and MJ and I were just blown away. FOR MILES and miles... nothing except mountains in the background and salt. It was absolute magic. If you ever get a chance to go and sit in the middle of these in complete silence please do so. It’s something truly special. We realize what we’ve been given. Time.

Bryce Canyon National Park, UT. Last time we were at Bryce it was winter, the park was full of snow, no one was there and it was silent. The only thing you would hear was an occasional snow fall, or an animal walking by. It was heaven. (Scroll down for that post) this time around we found ourselves here for about a month. “Maja come to Bryce, everyone left and we need help” Keith wrote in a Facebook message that got me so excited, bc I knew we would go immediately. Keith is a dear friend and a chef that used to work with me in Manchester. I filled out an application and next thing you know I was an employee for Bryce Canyon National Park. I worked at the BCL for a month helping out in any way I could. I would help hosting, clearing tables and being a food expo. Most of the time. The people we met were from all over the world, some of the best people I’ve ever met. Everyone was a “park hopper” from one National Park to the next. Helping and keeping these parks going. Thousands of people on a daily basis coming through the doors, all eager to see what your badge said and where you were from. They wanted to relate. On days off we would explore. We would hike and bike everything we could. MJ and Bug knew every trail, every back road, back trail system. Bug made friends with every deer and animal that she came across. The deer loved her. Bryce is an incredible Park. From the rangers, to the staff, to every single ounce of love that park has provided has been incredible. If you’re ever in #utah and feel like exploring the area, you have so much to explore. The state of Utah is pure magic. In every single aspect. The journey is an incredible powerful experience. It will change your life. Fairlyland Loop, Queens Garden, Navajo Loop, are pictured here. If you go, take your time, do every hike if you can, get into those canyons and hoodoos. It’s something purely magical.
