Our daredevil heroine had the strength of resolve to reject convention – everything she knew – and set out alone to live life on her own terms. She didn’t mope over her rejection or crave parental affection. She got on with things, and she succeeded.”

About Tomb Raider 2001 movie:

“Lara Croft was stripped of her full agency by caging her in a sphere of male influence. She couldn’t be powerful simply because of who she was. She needed a masculine stamp of approval to explain and legitimise her hero status. She also needed a male character to give her direction because without it she sat bored and inert.”

About Tomb Raider 2018 movie:

Finally got/made time to start working on personal projects more. One of the NY resolutions was to make at least an hour a day for personal work so let's do this! Had an idea for this one for ages which has been taking shapes and forms and finally arrived at smth I was super excited to work on. The character kind of came together on her own being heavily influences by Game of Thrones track "Reign" which I've been running on repeat at the time. She's got to be a mix of dark version of Daenerys, Lara and probably my dark alter-ego 😆

“Fierra Nera“ - second Original Artwork that went for sale on my Storenvy and the very first traditional piece of 2018, yay! ^^

This, as the “Winds of Antarctica“ piece, were both based on the sketches I did back in July as part of my “a Lara a Day“ challenge. Bringing these to life on paper and taking the concepts to the new level is super thrilling and exciting!
