There we go, a whole new row! I've added gryfindor, calcifer, pride and prejudice, hamilton, hocus pocus and encanto.

The first new square for the new (maybe last?!?) Row is already waiting on the other five.

I finaly found red and yellow yarn in the right size, so expect some squares that have been waiting till this moment. A gryfindor one, and a Hamilton square. But first, finished yesterday, my Calcifer square.

Okay so.......we're gonna talk about Bruno.

I absolutely loved the movie Encanto, but it took some time to come up with a pattern. The eyes were a given, but just eyes on a square are....meh. In the end I kind of replicated the pattern on Bruno's cape/poncho (?) for the edges.

Oh, and I don't think I showed you all this square wich I made last halloween, after seeing Hocus Pocus for the first time. I know I know, I'm sorry!

Not a very good photo, but once it's in the blanket it will be clearer.

No knitting these past few weeks, but I have been making some yarn. About two years ago I bought quite a lot of alpaca wool to spin into yarn. It has been waiting in the atic for me to get around to finaly start spinning again, and this week aparently was the moment. I started carding on friday, and today I finished the first string of yarn. I am in no way very good st spinning, but I enjoy the proces immensely. It's no where near as regular as my aunt would make it, and I don't think my grandmother would deem it fitting for knitting one of her many astounding projects, but I am happy with it. And all in all I guess thats what counts.

Guess who came around. The mailman! He brought me some new woolneedles, so I could finish my square of Pluk. I tried my best to make a curly feather, and this is the result.

And I could attach the squares to my blanket. It's really starting to get there. 3 or 4 more rows, and I think it will be about done. Now all I need is inspiration for 18 to 24 more squares 🙈

Two new squares! After a visit to Amsterdam with a friend, talking about not knowing what to knit next, we started brainstorming about some possebilities. Which resulted in these two squares.

First, and I'm quite proud of this one, scar. Cause you know, what else to put on your playlist while driving to Amsterdam than the cast album of the Lion King musical.

Then there is this one:

I don't know how well known PRR....TALILOE is in the rest of the word, but in the Netherlands it's part of almost everyones childhood. It originates from a book 'Pluk van de Petteflet' written by the marvelous Annie M. G. Schmidt. In English I believe it is known as 'Tow Truck Pluk'. Pluk encounters many lovely and weird animals in the book, one of wich is 'de krullevaar' which I really can't describe, so I encourage you to look it up, it's lovely. This krullevaar has orange, curly haired (?) feathers, and it's call goes....you guesed it....PRR....TALILOE.

I will be embroidering one of these orange feathers on the square, but this'll have to wait for the arival of the mailman. Bacause for one or the other reason I keep loosing my woolneedles. And only those aparanty, normal sewing needles aplenty.

So, needle shortage also results in not being able to attach the squares yet, but here are the six squares that will be making up the new row on my blanket to be.

There, a lot of gold! A bit much in my opinion, but it ain't my hat. I hope Rincewind would aprove.

And here is the next one! It's not realy done jet. When I get home from vacation i will embroider some nice gold stars and the word WIZZARD on it, and then it'll be worthy of the title 'Hat of Rincewind' After that it will join the Blanket to Be.

I realy like knitting these squares, and my vacation and watching the new series Loki brought some inspiration. So here is my newest square for my blanket to be!

By now Grogu has been incorporated in the blanket to be, together with Mulan, Hamilton, Groot, Peggy and the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

I've now started with the second square of the new row, captain amarica's shield. Earlier I knitted the blues brothers, who've turned out pretty amazing, of I may say so 😊

More baby niece gifts! I would like to introduce you to this bat, who I have made, and not just knitted....I made the pattern! I have no idea how I achieved it, but it turned out not half bad (or bat 😇) .

I started with the wings, guessing those would be the hardest to make...guess what, no such thing, first time hit! The body on the other hand....the first body was more turdshaped than batshaped. Second one was a lot better 😊. If you hadn't noticed, I am increddibly pleased with (myself) the result. There is ofcourse lots of room for perfection, but I am so stoked with this result. I call it Bartok.

Yesterday I became an aunt again, so there were gifts to make. One of them is this beany. I used the flowerpatterns from my ölandshawl.

My husband in the mean time made this stuffed whale.

A new row for my blanket to be is complete! Mulan, groot, grogu and agent carter already made an apearance, but hamilton and the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy are new aditions.

I am realy pleased with the final (for now, more squares and rows to follow ofcourse) result!

3 new squares to acompany grogu. Groot, Mulan and Peggy. I think there should be one or two squares with some brighter colours to complete the new row, so I'll have to think on what to knit next. But for now I am very happy with these new squares for my blanket to be!

It has been a bit since i've posted something knitty, so here we go. After 2 1/2 year I finally finished my shawl. This is the Öland Shawl, designed by Marja de Haan. 3 years ago my grandmother gifted me a book with this pattern included.

I then searched for 6 months to find a packet with all the wool, wich is spun on the island Öland, in Sweden. After that the knitting started. The first part is quick work, but the further you get, the more stitches you have to make. The last part was knitting the border around the shawl, and folding it over the 'raw' edge. Today I stitched it, and thus finished my shawl! Wahoo!!!!
