I’ve been busy with work but I’m doing my best to find some time for working on my own stuff on the side. I’m trying to do some action scene here, a combat between two characters. In the beginning, the character with a red jacket was gonna kick the other and then a bunch of bombs will explode near him. I was pretty close to finishing this scene but now I changed my mind. Every time that I was close to finishing the animation there was always something that I want to fix or add. In this case, this character was gonna show up for a second, and now I end up doing the full running cycle and wanting to add another scene showing just him. As I said I was planning on doing something short but now I want to add more stuff to make the most of it. Does this happen to you too? Now I want to do a small short or a teaser of my characters that I’ve been doing on my Instagram account. Adding some scenes and closing with a title. I’ve been working mostly on FX these past 4 years so, the change in doing character animation is been fun. The main goal of doing this scene was trying to have more for my FX portfolio, I wanted to add more and more effects to the scene. But it turns out that I’m having fun doing the character animation too, so why not keep digging more into this. Wish me luck!

I did this test in my free time, trying to get back animating characters. I’ve been doing 2DFX in the animation industry for more than 4 years and now and I’m getting rusty at animating characters. I know it has some problems. 

I used an old design of mine (that I planned animating a long time ago) Now I’m trying to have some time for my own personal projects like I used to. It’s hard to find some time for this, and on top of that, you have to juggle between contracts to make a living. 

This is the final result I hope you guys like it.

So. now it’s time to practice doing some water. I used the water splash example from the book Elemental Magic book by Joseph Gilland. I’m not 100% happy with the end result but it’s good enough. I’ve been trying to improve my FX animation skills in my free time. it’s been fun.
