a day after your birthday, he was fumbling around with random stuff in bunker 9, brainstorming basically

i feel like he'd be really indecisive about what gift he'd make you 😭😭 so he'd spend MONTHS brainstorming and then actually start deciding what he'd make you the day before your birthday

he came to the conclusion to just make as much as he can, and put it into a gift box (inside would be a basket, filled with the gifts he had made for you)

it wasn't too much, but not too little either, just the perfect amount

it ranged from little rings of all the things you've mentioned (it can range from the small dandelion you said you liked, or the dog you saw when you and him were walking down the street), the rings had a stamp on the back of them, so it'd leave a little mark on your skin whenever you'd take them off

he'd also make this cool necklace for you, and there was a little box inside the basket that was filled with custom beads inside :D every bead had an extra one just in case you'd drop one, too

he'd LOVE to host a birthday party for you, he'd get the rest of the seven in on it too! some of them would distract you while leo, hazel and annabeth were preparing the area

annabeth was def the one that worked on the format of the area, though

if you didn't like birthday parties, leo would sneak into your cabin, giving you a tray of your favourite breakfast with a grin plastered on his lips (he was holding the tray in his left hand, while he held the gift box on his right hand)

"my love! happy birthday!" he greets, giving your lips a peck before placing the tray on your bedside table

he somehow memorized your sleep patterns?? he'd know what time you'd wake up, or what time you'd usually sleep

your birthday cake was very carefully designed 😭 except for the greeting that was on the top, which was leo's job to do

"happy birthday, (name) <3 <3!" was written in messy cursive

basically, he'd plan this breakfast date with you in your cabin

and the rest of the day would be filled with the others giving you their gifts!! you and the seven went out to celebrate your birthday at a carnival

which ended up with all of you having more Polaroid pictures hung up in your rooms

the ones you got were you and leo's hands holding each other, and you and the gang on a rollercoaster C:

overall, leo would make sure your birthday would be absolutely perfect, filled with fun BUT not dangerous adventures <3

just as you finished reading his message, you heard your homeroom teacher state that you guys had arrived. almost immediately, everyone cheered, giggling, and rushed out of the bus, exploring the venue after a few reminders from Mr. Aizawa to not get lost, and to behave. you dusted off your clothing, as you looked around for your boyfriend, neito, before you finally messaged him back.

"i'm at the entrance, neito," and not even five minutes later, you heard the only voice that could make your chest feel warm. neito's.

it's been a good few days after you and miya's stupid little argument. for some reason, you thought ignoring him would be the greater and most beneficial way to deal with it- which totally backfired. as much as you wanted to reply to him, you felt too awkward. and, you didn't know if it was your pride or your ego telling that, maybe even both. even if you did reply, then what? would you guys go be sorry for each other and make up? or would he start questioning you if you ever did see his point while you both argued?

there were peaceful moments of silence in your office; before you had heard a knock from your apartment door. dreadful thoughts already had sinked in, what if it was miya?

you shook your head. no way. he wouldn't come here this late at night. sure, he liked staying up, but to go as far as to stay up for you? no way.

but once you opened the door and in mere seconds, was proven wrong, you were met by a familiar pair of green eyes - very familiar ones. the one you very much prayed to not see.

but, as quick as light (maybe even quicker), miya hugged you back tightly; it was evident he missed you a lot.

"i missed you," he confessed one last time, tears streaming down his puffy, red, cheeks as he hugged you tighter; it felt like you couldn't breathe anymore, but, it was okay, his hugs emitted warmth, a warmth that you had missed feeling in your arms and in your chest.

reki felt anxious — wait no, a word such as "anxious" sounded too big, too strong, he thought. instead, reki was nervous. 4 days before, he had asked you on a date — a moment which surprisingly didn't turn into a disaster, since you accepted.

it's not like he didn't yearn for this ever since you two met, he had loved you the day you protected him from bullies back in kindergarten.

he smiled at the memory. "give reki his toy back or else, jiro!"

despite a good memory flashing in his mind, his fear still hung onto him, in the back of his mind, he thought that he might say the wrong thing and make you leave, or a worse concept — you saying that you just accepted the date for jokes, for your own little entertainment. because he was only reki kyan, nothing else.

i mean, reki was never popular, at school or at "s". in school, he'd be teased because of his fondness for skating, and the redhead wasn't really that smart academically, either. while in "s", he'd just been known as one of the fools who dared to race adam.

despite all of his negative thoughts, he tried to stay optimistic. it was supposed to be a great day after all, so he shouldn't be a bummer. he was getting near the spot for your date anyway. it was only a 15 min walk away from his home. the "spot" was a cozy café, your personal favorite café.

he entered the café, the bell of the door and the voices of multiple customers filled his ears. almost immediately, he spotted you on one of the tables, then he blushed. it seemed like you had spotted him as well. you smiled at his figure.

when he saw your eyes again, he was reminded of the fact that with you, there was always something to like about him, and there would be no need in pretending to be someone he isn't.

he tried to shake it off, you wouldn't do it, right? you wouldn't, you'd never.

"i tried to reason with them. . .but the t-thing is, it seems like a great school. i'm sorry. we may not be able to communicate much but —"

the first words of your statement hit him, hard. to his ears, you did want to get away from japan, away from him. that was the only thing his mind kept repeating; and other words that you said were a blur, muffled even.

within a second, his emerald eyes seemed glassy. he was already tearing up — you looked away, and he shook his head. with furrowed brows, he shakily said: "but, y-you promised to stay..with me."

and dear Lord it hurt. hearing his voice sound so delicate, weak because of you. "i really wanna stay okay..? i really do — but this is just—"

"you lied to me!" his voice came out as venomous as a snake's bite. despite that, you still didn't look at him. instead, you stayed silent, not knowing what to say or do. there were millions of words stored into your heart, begging to be released, to be said — to be confessed. but your mind felt blank.

all you could do was listen.

even if you so badly wanted to tell him you'll stay, take back your agreement to go to that school. although, you knew you couldn't, and shouldn't. it was your dream after all. entering a school like that.

"..you..lied..to..me.." he repeated his statement, except this time, it didn't come out as a yell — it came out as a small whimper. you turned around to look at him, he was hiding his face entirely with his arm, small sniffles following. "miya.." as always, his name rolled off of your tongue so smoothly, so naturally. like it always did. you ran to hug him tight, and he buried his head onto your shoulder — you could feel his arms wrapped around your back in a protective embrace. you held him while he cried, while he sobbed his fears out. with every word, a piece of your heart broke. but, the least you could do was listen anyway.

"w-what am i going do without you?. . ."

you nodded proudly, holding one hand of his — whilst the other held his shoulder. he flinched slightly at the contact, his guard going off. A few seconds later, you could feel the immense body heat coming from him.

you chuckled, "you okay? you're hot, literally." unknowingly, your gentle grip was at fault for his body temperature. one touch caused it to flare mildly.

that statement of yours made him look at you, spitting out a "of course i am! this just feels embarrassing. . .!" despite his hot temperature, he really did look hot — like attractive. sharp green eyes sparkling ever so lightly in the moonlight, dark hair tied, a look you had never seen on him before. except for the slightly irritated face. you've always seen that. though, you'd never get tired of it.

there was miya chinen, the best person you have ever seen.
