I've been thinking, has anyone considered doing a crossover between Detective Conan, 911 and Rookie? Something like Akai, Ai, Conan and Furuya fleeing to Los Angeles and collaborating with both groups to hide. This plot bunny keeps haunting me.

YES! Like, that would be it, I was thinking of the Rookie ones, clearly knowing that Conan is not a normal kid and Tim testing him with Lucy complaining that he is going too far. And Ai arguing about maintaining the integrity of the crime scene with Angela and Furuya talking to Nyla about how complicated it is to go to UC.

And then something happens and the 911 madness falls on them, with Bobby arguing about better ways to solve the problem and Akai, Buck and Tim all playing hero at the same time...

my rage increases with everything i hear about the live action lilo and stitch

and more than anything— showing an indigeneous family being separated by the government, and having it be shown as a “happy ending.” the original ending was perfect. nani kept custody and gained a support system.

brain can't stop thinking about Lambert who hasn't been at Vesemir's since before he started his transition and now it has been over 10 years and for one reason or another he makes his way up to Vesemir's farm

and Vesemir is out in his garden when Lambert arrives and he's gotten so old yet somehow nothing has changed at all and then Vesemir notices this young man approaching him and there's this familiar aura about him but Vesemir doesn't recognize him

which Lambert is kind of glad for it but it also hurts so much at the same time and Vesemir frowns at him like "Can I help you young man?" and Lambert stutters as he introduced himself and tries to explain while stumbling over his words and suddenly Vesemir realizes- and he's just genuinely so happy that Lambert is back, that he's safe and happy and then he calls out for Geralt and Eskel, tells them that their brother has finally returned home and-

From the comics we know Logan knows at least 10 languages and is fluent in like 6 of them. So, for future movies give me Logan who can hold a conversation with Kurt in geman! Give me Logan who makes an effort to speak Spanish with Laura! Give me Logan who appreciates different cultures and who knows japanese and Japanese etiquette! Give me Logan who can imitate a british accent to disguise his true heritage and surprises both Charles and Erik! Give me Logan who knows French and translates what Gambit says to Wade!

I'm reseeing old animes and series that I loved when I was young. I remembered my first bi crush, I was in love with both.

About this I had this same sensation reading Sherlock Holmes's and Agatha Christie's books, these books are very very good but the cases, now will be easy solved with forensic science or technology. The hound of Baskerville will be a creepypasta video or a prank between kids.

Man. I've been binging Detective Conan for the last month or so and what's fascinating to me about it is how since it's a 30 year old series during one of the times of the most extensive technological advances within the last 200 years. You can see the way the cases are affected by the advancement of technology as well, it's crazy.

Early episodes had things like floppy discs and voice mail machines be key pieces of evidence, what did it matter if Shinichi showed his face a time or two? That could be smoothed over with just asking those present to not talk about it. Phones were evidence mainly because of who called but not too much else. The biggest clues for the black org were a floppy disc with a diary on it and a code based on dial sounds on a flip phone.

Now? Shinichi shows his face even once and it gets on a photo, it's *all* over because that's how the internet works! Evidence on phones now includes extensive camera history, and being able to see with a zoom on a phone camera. These are all cases that couldn't work early on because these things weren't even around in the early days or wouldn't be as big!

It's such a cool demonstration about how technology affects mystery stories, and how it changes as time goes on! I know some people find the slow pace of the story annoying (I don't blame them) but I find it fascinating just what that does to the narrative being told and how much technology plays into murder mysteries.

This also just a few examples regarding what's commonly discussed as advances, but they have so many other things they refer to in the series as new advances in forensics that have such an impact. I'd love to write an actual essay on this concept, not just with Detective Conan but mystery stories as a whole and this impact.
