I'm all about gender preferences/ sexuality, but why do you label acnl villagers, it's such a non label type of game and something kids play all the time, some who may come across some of your posts and of the community, may get confused as to why it all needs a label (not a hate post, I support what you do, I'm just curious !!) I guess in other words, what does it mean to you?:)
I figured we would get an ask like this eventually! I understand what you mean, but Animal Crossing is a game for everyone! And everyone means everyone–including LGBTQ individuals. Plus, I don’t think children need to be “sheltered” from LGBTQ labels & issues. Having representation in children’s media of LGBTQ people, even if they are just headcanons, can help normalize different genders and sexualities for future generations. The reason I (mod Marshal) feel strongly about this blog is actually because Animal Crossing: New Leaf helped me discover who I am. I started off my New Leaf town with a female character, as I am DFAB. As I played over the years, I began questioning my gender. I noticed that girl characters could wear male clothes, unlike in Wild World, and used that to my advantage to explore my identity in a safe and accepting environment. I know that no matter what I wear, my animal friends will always unconditionally love me, and that gave me lots of hope and reassurance for my future. Now I am a full transitioned, cis-passing male, and it all began here for me. I love the thought of the Animal Crossing villagers cheering me on as I transition, or even being LGBTQ+ themselves! That is what inspired this blog.I hope this answers your question, anon! Let me know if you have any more! -mod Marshal
