From the second that Wilson Pickett’s guitar hits your ears, it’s a signal to buckle your seatbelt and hold on the for the ride. Rick Hall’s incredible (depressing) story, Keith Richard’s hilarious interviews & everything in between. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Bono, Alicia Keys, Wilson Pickett, John Paul White, Allman Brothers

Don Jon
Saw this at Sundance and you do not want to miss it. I can barely even contain my excitement.
The first movie written & directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who also stars in it) has released it's first official trailer! It's set for wide release in October so everyone mark your calendars!

Mud
For those of you who appreciate Matthew McConaughey in a more substantial role, "Mud" comes out in theaters tomorrow. Reese Witherspoon and Tye Sheridan also delivered great performances. It had a successful run at Cannes followed by Sundance, which was where I saw it. I would definitely recommend it.

Hannibal
A show about Hannibal Lecter helping an FBI criminal profiler catch serial killers sounds like a good idea. But whoever thought they could pull it off with anyone other than Sir Anthony Hopkins playing Dr. Lecter was definitely mistaken. Such an iconic role, those shoes can't be filled.

Oscar nominations announced today!
I haven't seen all of the movies I would have liked to, so I can't say 100% who is "best" in each category. (I just added several movies to my already rather long list of films to watch ASAP.) Overall pretty pleased with the nominations. I feel like a few movies & people may have been overlooked (Bigelow was robbed of Best Director), and a few movies were included that I don't feel necessarily should have been. I think it's amazing that Best Leading Actress just made history with their youngest nominee being at least 4 years younger than the previous youngest nominee, who was 12.
Hoping:
Best Picture: Lincoln or Zero Dark Thirty
Leading Actor: Bradley Cooper or Daniel Day-Lewis
Leading Actress: Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain or Quvenzhané Wallis
Supporting Actor: Tommy Lee Jones
Supporting Actress: Sally Field
Cinematography: Skyfall
Costume: Anna Karenina
Directing: Steven Spielberg
Editing: Zero Dark Thirty
Makeup/Hairstyling: Hitchcock
Music/Original Song: Skyfall/Adele
Visual Effects: The Avengers
Writing/Adapted Screenplay: Lincoln or Silver Linings Playbook
Writing/Original Screenplay: Zero Dark Thirty, Django Unchained or Moonrise Kingdom
Anyone have any predictions?

Lorelai: "Yes I would date Steven Tyler."
