Look, I have said before that every alpha kid is dealing with their own unique forms of internalized homophobia. But Dirk's is kind of funny. Guy who has Masc4Masc Not like those OTHER gays who are all flamboyant about it in his grindr profile. I just like dudes why do I have to label myself also I love rainbow dash because she's spunky. Like, dude.

I wish I had something profound to add to the world. To a notable figure like Mandela or Cleopatra, but I'm just ordinary. Nothing unique or creative to add to the discussion. I no longer wish to be an observer in life, a background character I want front stage.

a helpful guide to intrusive vs impulsive thoughts! (to my understanding)
[id: a graph with a horizontal axis labelled 'impulsive/bad' on the left and 'impulsive/normal' on the right, and a vertical axis labeled 'intrusive/harmful' on top and 'intrusive/normal (?)' on the bottom /end id]
So! Intrusive thoughts are any random/repetitive thoughts that cause you distress. Impulsive thoughts are any random/repetitive thoughts about doing something that dont cause distress.
This does not mean that impulsive thoughts are less bad than intrusive thoughts, or anything like that.
On the right side, Impulsive/Normal thoughts would be something like a completely random thought of "I should dye my hair!" that causes no distress. It's just a random thing you thought of doing, or keep thinking of doing. It might be somewhat annoying to think about it constantly, especially if it's something you can't do, but it doesn't cause you any actual distress.
On the left side, Impulsive/Bad (or harmful) thoughts are thoughts that cause you no distress but are about something that is genuinely harmful, or bad. For example, (gore warning), you have a random thought of "i should break all the bones in my hand," and your reaction is something along the lines of "should i? no, no, thats a bad idea" or just ignoring it or even continuing to think about it, but the thought doesn't bring you distress.
On the top, Intrusive/Harmful is thoughts that cause you distress about doing things that would cause actual harm. An easy way, at least for me, to think about it is as a thought that causes people distress where, if someone else were to hear it, they would say "no, thats bad!" Any thought about doing something that causes you distress that would cause harm, or is obviously bad to other people.
On the bottom, Intrusive/Normal (?) is thoughts that cause you distress about doing something that others would perceive as normal. Say you have a persistent thought that if you wear a certain shirt, someone would die, and that causes you distress. It's a thought where, if you told a random person that thinking about doing [x] causes you distress, they would probably think it's "no big deal" or "a completely normal thing". This is because the action you are thinking about doing is not intrinsically harmful. In the previous example (if you wear a shirt someone will die), the action is wearing a shirt. To most people, wearing a shirt would seem like something completely normal and nothing to worry about. However, the thought still causes distress. Whether it's because of the 'someone will die' part, or it's just distress with no apparent cause, at least to others.
This explanation might be a bit incoherent, but here ya go! Intrusive thoughts cause distress, impulsive thoughts don't, both can be about something harmful or something 'normal', neither mean the person having them is a bad person. A lot of people say things like "the fact that the thought of doing [bad thing] causes distress means you're not a bad person and you'd never do [bad thing]!", but in reality just because you aren't distressed at the thought of doing something it doesn't mean you're a bad person. And distress at the thought of doing something 'bad' doesn't make you a good person, it means you're in distress.
An impulsive thought of self harm can be just as harmful as an intrusive thought of self harm, an impulsive thought of something completely normal causing no distress should not be called an 'intrusive thought'.

Retroid Pocket 3
So, I’ve been pretty heavy on the programming push lately, but it’s not all I’ve been up to. So, back around the start of the pandemic, I started work making a PiGrrl handheld emulator device. PiGrrl is basically a Game Boy Clone that runs with a Raspberry Pi at it’s core. I ordered a bunch of parts and a case, I already had a Pi (I have several), and then the Pandemic caused my parts to take…
